Too true, originally he had nothing to do with Guardians; no Badoon, no conquest of the galaxy, etc. etc. After his first appearance, his story got continued again (and more or less closed out?) by none other than Claremont and Byrne. They changed his personality from his first appearance (the editors thought he was too "twisted") and gave him the cybernetic Ship (that was her name)  as his companion/vehicle. But no connection at all with the Guardians.

I do think they should've gone for a deeper blue, similar to the paint used for the Nova from the Groot BAF, but the real let gripe is how they did his boots. Instead of molding  like they did for the likes of  Shatterstar or Mysterio, they cheaped out with just painting them on, and even in these pics you can clearly see that. The unique helmet, they did correctly, the unique belt, looks bang-on perfect. Also NOT just painted on. So its disappointing that they phoned the boots in.

Other than that it looks as it should; I do hope they do some more '70s characters. By all means do the original Guardians.

Well. 9 months later, they've already cancelled my order and gone radio silent. Today I just happened to look over and see it was back in stock, so I ordered again....lets see what happens. And here I was trying to throw them a bone. But I notice I was referencing Yondu in my original post, and while he's not on the Vulcan mold, he has indeed been made so that's a good thing!

Grabbed a few of these before X Mas for this price. He is a pretty cool figure. Glad I waited for a.sale though.  They had Kraven for 13 too. I was pissed cause I just had gotten one for 27 bucks to keep in package

That was a good sale, snagged a bunch of those Crimson Alley Vipers for cheap, along with a bunch of Legends exclusives I previously couldn't be bothered with.  But at half price or less, kind of hard to resist.

Just grabbed this figure the other day. I hope it's performance doesn't dissuade the team from making more Cosmic obscurities, because this figure is gold!

I don't like this look of SL and I was not very happy when they announced it. Especially considering we still have never got a comic version of his more modern duster wearing look. Even though they've done 5 MCU versions. But I bought this on massive discount during Black Friday and I must say this is top notch. Especially considering it's a WM exclusive. It's well done and the body mold is perfect and the few accessories and exterior parts that come with it are well done and pretty darn accurate. Not the version of SL we all wanted but in the absence of that one this will do nicely. It's worth noting that aside from SL we still haven't gotten comic versions of Gamora, Drax or pretty much any other members of the GOTG. At least not in general release. And good luck trying to get any of those exclusive versions at a decent cost these days. But that Gamora is niiiiiice. If you were lucky enough to get it. It's about the best thing my ex ever gave to me. LOL. But anyway. Seeing as that franchise was a big earner for the MCU and pretty much the last movie that did any good in theatres I'd say that's a pretty big slight to the characters. They have to be somewhere on the schedule soon. Don't they?

This is the only version of Starlord I have an association with---from the still-fantastic Marvel Preview #11 story. I was so jonesed for this figure I, somehow, managed to acquire TWO.
One ended up on the shelf, and the other..........perpetual hand-candy on my desk. And since a Lord Gareth and Ariguan Sith-Lord are very UNlikely to come along, I figure that this Pete Quill is gonna bug Lilandra and Gladiator.........or maybe the Mezco Star Trek guys.  Spacers gotta space, after all. 😉

When this figure was first announced, I really liked its look.  While I don't have any real connection to this iteration of the character, I'm considering picking it up at this price point. The only thing holding be back is already having the Starlord that came with the Guardians of the Galaxy 5 pack a while back...

Apples and Oranges, imo. Do pick this up though; it looks great in person and awesome in a 'Cosmic' Marvel display.

For what it's worth they also have the MCU John Walker Captain America figure for under $6 as well. I think the retro card Falcon was like $9. I saw the grey suit Black Widow with the jetpack for $13 I think.

They seemed to have quite a few McFarlane DC Multiverse and AEW wrestling figures for under $8 also, if anybody is looking for those for customizing reasons or otherwise.

I hope it's soon! The further we get from the Galactus Haslab, the more concerned I get. But yes, here's hoping he's in the works...and the classic version of him too, all buffed and Cosmic-Archangelic looking. I admit I'm a bit concerned because there's so much on him that they could get wrong for me, lol, but I'm doing my best to stay optimisitc 🙂
