As much as I'm happy we finally got a second crack at Dark Phoenix, on this single card, and it looks very good, I'm still feeling like the previous 2 pack looked better and overall was a better figure, more heads, and the colors were really nice in the darker variety, the hair with it's translucent elements were much better, this new one is really bright and the lack of accessories is a bummer, plus the paint deco is lacking, I'm sure it's also just this specific item Dan has but the paint apps on the face look poorly done here, anyways all that aside I really want this figure, since well like most I never got that 2 pack.

Little improvement on the last version, and really its down to whether you like a darker red or a brighter. I think somewhere between the two would have been better, and its a shame they were so lazy that they didn't take the time to mold the evening gloves or the thigh high boots on this time (they did it for Emma Frost in the HFC set). The paint lines on the boots looks better, more symetrical. If they had used a metallic shine on the gloves, boots and sash it would've looked more accurate.

I think the box set version just edges this version out by a little. The colors and the extra head sculpts put it over the top. This one is great for anyone who didn't get that one and were stuck with the Madame Céline Dion version till now. Of course, I'm not gonna not get this one but my display will not change.

Again, great to see a superior buck, but  I'm surprised the recipe for the buck they used for the boxed set one hadn't been employed more often to this point. That buck would have taken the frustration out of so many times when they misused the Chicken Legged Wonder Kate Bishop buck. All it was was a version of the KB with beefed up, more stable thighs and when that little tweak came out I just knew the KB buck was on numbered days and we'd never have to deal with our female figs having spaghetti legs again. Little did I know those days would number over 2,000 and counting, and spaghetti is still always on the menu every time a new female figure is announced. Another misstep from the company that claims it's always on the cutting edge of finding bigger and better ways of doing things. Yeah, not really.

Was always gonna get this one because it's Dark Phoenix.

Might have to get two now because this body + the short-haired Black Widow head (gray costume) will make for an excellent Rachel Summers until we get an official release.

The retro colors, dj elbows and new sash are excellent on this one, though I believe some shading here and there could’ve gone a long way. Still love the 2pk version but would/will definitely scoop this one up at some point. Here’s hoping they update that green suit as well bc the current one is hideous.

Good figure, great get for those who didn't get the box set. Darker red is more fitting though. Also its clearly not the same figure, and has updated joints.

Yeah, that looks pretty good, but I'm with you on the first thoughts. We still desperately need a Rachel figure. Preferably in her Hound-esque Excalibur uniform (gotta finish that team guys), but we need an actual distinct, original Rachel head sculpt. As we know, once they do a figure it kinda opens the door for them to start doing other variations of the figure so once they get Excalibur out of the way then maybe we'll get her Marvel Girl or Prestige versions out as well. Maybe I'm just misremembering or it was in a dream or just completely hoping, but wasn't there a mention or a clue or hint about a Prestige figure put out some time ago? It just seems so vivid in my memory. I've seen some pretty decent customs, so maybe it's just that.

I think you were dreaming. The only Rachel that they have hinted at is an Excalibur version which will be released God knows when

No, I remembered eventually. It was actually strong speculation, probable mostly through this forum, that one of the figures in the Tri-Sentinel wave, that one of those characters would be Prestige. It was never an official hint or insinuation, just pure speculation. Guess I kinda just got my hopes up at the time.
