Marvel Legends Series Heralds Of Galactus 2-Pack Video Review And Images

Looking at how they did that Fallen One and how simple and smooth it came out on the Reaper buck it makes one wonder why they simply couldn't have done the same thing with either or both Silver Surfer and Firelord. Sure, get the one nobody was asking for absolutely correct but go ahead and screw the two fan faves right the hell up. Sometimes thes guys are straight ayass clowns.

I'm a Leo, and for us there can be few things more blasphemous than cheap. What...cheap...utter....crap! Same 10 year old BAF?? With those deep dark peg holes and grossly outdated ball hips? And with hot pink paint? Jeez, they couldn't even give him an extra hand to hold his axe? As a cosmic Heavy-weight, Terrax is a must for me, but this, this they can keep. I'd be embarrassed to offer the public something this brazenly cheapskate.

Ehhhhh, pardon the melodrama, gang. Just really peeved about this, particularly because I know how much better this team can do. Terrax is an All-time fav of mine, and they really blew a chance here to make something special...all in favour of saving a buck. Yes, I know that's how they role often enough, it's not news. Still...there was a chance here to blow peoples minds. Angular rock texture skin like he had in his early appearances, shiny metallic paint for his axe, extra heads, two gripping hands, a gesturing hand......And a mini Asteroid for him to stand on looking boss! How freaking sweet would THAT have looked next to the big G!

This was the first BAF of the (then) new Legends from 10 years ago. Not a bad figure if you ignore the too-short arms, lack of paint detail on the axe, and that they did a rather unimpressive showing out the gate. That was then. 10 years later not a single upgrade.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: if collectors keep buying sub-par figures, hasblo will keep pumping out sub-par figures.

Totally agree bro. Tooootally agree. Repainting and repackaging dated figures is what the Star Wars team does; I didn't expect the Marvel team would just cheap out and give us the same old BAF without any updates at all!

Eh all the hate on this Terrax, yeah I get it they should have updated it a bit, ball jointed hips are a real sad way to go, but with that all being said, I guess I'm a sucker, I never got the BAF and this still looks good, the Ball joint hips are cleverly hidden with his garbs, it doesn't make me sad to get this figure again, I always thought it looked good, still does, Fallen one while being pretty simple is a simple design in the comics, they did a cool job on the hair, I might be one of the few who am excited to get this pack, finally these 2 in the collection, the real bother to me was having to pay the price from Pulse.

clearly they were saving some budget on this one in the tooling department, but that's part of the business, they saw an opportunity to re-release a wanted figure who didn't age that badly (IMO) so it is what it is.

It's more the price that gets me. This should have been around $50. At the price Hasbro is charging there should have been a lot of new parts.

Exactly. If they're gonna pull an old figure out of the pile, and make NO changes whatsoever, then don't charge as much as if they were new, re-tooled figures.

I've said the same thing about the Avengers 1 Captain America that was, at the time a 10 year old figure, that they recycled for the 3rd Endgame wave. Why would Hasbro re-release an old figure in the same wave as new figures with updated articulation?

They did update the paint and I THINK the headsculpt was all new so I guess for the Cap figure they did some improvement but to me it was a slap on the face. Cap is one of my all time favorites and despite not loving the suit from the first Avengers movie, I still wanted it updated. I mean, how many times are we going to get a shot at that suit? And then to get a 10 year old figure .... ugh....

I actually canceled  my order for this Heralds set once it was pointed out that the Terrax was the old BAF. I was on the fence originally but as others have pointed out, I wasn't giving Hasbro money for old, outdated figures.

Funny thing about this is I don't even remember ordering it, but damned if I didn't just come across the shipping notice in my Email. This is how you find out you have a problem. Dayam! On the bright side that Terrax was a hell of a figure for it's time and it was a sign for what Hasbro would be capable of in the future, and it still holds up pretty well today. Yes, there should have been at least a few upgrades but, hellooooo......it's Hasbro. Cheap is their jam. Fallen One is simple but accurate, and at this point that's all I ask. Why the hell couldn't they do that with Silver Surfer? Guess it's on it's way. Hopefully that was the last of my pointless spending because I've been doing pretty good at not biting at every little thing as of late.

Unless they put out a Reaper buck 2.0 or something, they should just give Surfer the Vulcan buck, imo. It is practically the same size as the reaper mold + has butterflies + the body just looks better. Giving it some longer shins/boots that would add more height for certain characters, like Silver Surfer, would be nice.

Here's another thing: wouldn't surprise me if  if in the next year or so they actually DO an updated Terrax. Its not like they're done on "cosmic" figures. Air -Walker is still out there, fa Adam Warlock, Drax, Moon Dragon, Captain Marvel (either of them), Infinity....

I'm glad I cancelled my order for this. I may change my mind and order it eventually, but it's very underwhelming. I already have the old Terrax BAF, so the lack of newness in this set is really frustrating. If they were just going to slightly repaint the existing BAF, they could have at least given us a new big ol' rock for him to fly around on. The price is just too much for what you get.

And therein lies the problem with the Sunfire buck that some of these characters were done on. It is totally inaccurate, totally misused, and honestly, regardless of the butterflies, it is actually not a very good looking mold. I think the fact that it was a new mold in a time when the ones being used at the time were becoming nauseatingly tiresome and hated was the reason it was almost unanimously loved at the time. As innovative as it was at the time it's just plain funny looking compared to more modern bucks, starting with that freaky long neck and proceeding with the short arms and legs in comparison to the torso. It's complete garbage, but the sheer fact that it has butterfly joints is what makes it the automatic for figures like Falcon, Surfer and Firelord, who actually do not need butterflies to be put in their respective flying poses or to hold a staff (try it out). An updated Reaper buck would be preferable, but until that happens I'd be satisfied with the Vulcan buck, no doubt. Maybe if and when the new Reaper sized mold comes out they will address this issue, but I doubt it, unless Hasbro finds a way to gouge the fans for more money while they're at it. My prediction would be perhaps a few 2 packs with both SS and FL being in separate boxes along with some lesser known characters that are fairly cool and likeable.

I am actually pretty happy with this. I never built Terrax since I only wanted one or two of the set. On ebay he was going for 60 for a long time. I ne er pulled the trigger. But when they announced Galactus, I changed my mind. It shot up to 120 on ebay that day. So to get him and the first Herald, who I don't think I read anything with, for 65 was good for me. If I had the old baf this would be an easy pass.

I do agree with those of you saying Surfer should be on the same body as the Fallen. I actually really like this figure. Firelord doesn't bother me like it does the rest of you. But the Surfer with Galactus should have been an improvement body wise over the Walgreens. People had been complaining a lot. It's not like they didn't know it was an issue. Also, since getting the sale priced Iron Spider, I would have liked that metallic paint used for him as well. I agree wholeheartedly with whoever was talking about (a bunch of conversations on a different thread ago) how obscure characters can get all new parts, Maggot for instance, but big names get cobbled together and put on the wrong bodies. I was annoyed about USAgent too.

After getting this pack open I do have one issue, and maybe I'm crazy but Terrax's arms feel like they are too short, kinda weirds me out when looking at it, other then that as I've said before despite this figures age it holds up and still looks good, if it ain't broke (enough) don't fix it. I just wish his arms didn't seem so stubby.

The Terrax on the box has completely different legs, why do they keep doing that?

Render for the box are make before they go into production. By the time higher ups decide they aren't go to put the monet in for the updates and just use older bodies it too late to change the packaging.

I got mine the other day and I am pretty disappointed. Terrax is a metallic pinkish color where he should be red. The Fallen One has two different length legs, just like my Sentry order from Walgreens. This makes it really hard to get him to stand up, without contorting him into some action pose. Terrax also has what must have been a larger plastic air bubble that burst, after initial molding, right on the front left side of his red(pink) shoulder armor. This left a nice round hole on his armor. I really hope others don't have all these issues that I did. I feel like buying another old Terrax baf again with the much better red paint color apps. Wish they would have at least scaled Terrax down, with a new mold, to his 6 foot height, he's way too tall.

Understood, but this is a multibillion dollar company that's been around for over 90 years. They have a quality control department to catch this exact kind of thing. Also, this isn't even a new figure at all, its been dusted off the shelf. So any render they made here that doesn't match, is really just misleading.

At the same time, collectors have got to understand that if we continue to buy sub-par products, the company has zero incentive to improve.
