Next Week's Marvel Legends Pre-Order - Something Green This Way Comes?!?

Another week will soon be upon us which means we should be getting another Hasbro Marvel Legends pre-order. Right now the only clue we have comes from our sponsor Entertainment Earth and their pre-order Drop Zone page. It looks like the next Marvel Legends pre-order will be taking place next week on Wednesday April 12th at 1pm ET. The clue they give reads as follows:

Your friends will be green with envy if you get this marvelous release first, so sign up for a reminder!

From this we can assume it will be something green. Assuming the pre-order will be for another one of the Avengers 60th Anniversary items Hasbro revealed in their last live-stream, we are guessing it will be either for the Super Skrull and Spider-Woman Skrull Queen 2-pack and/or the 12" Super Adaptoid. Last week we saw two items go up for pre-order so it's possible we could see that happen again.

Hopefully Hasbro's Dan Yun will clue us in to what it is sooner rather than later as he has done with the last several pre-orders. Of course when more details become available we will be sure to update you here.

Note the Marvel item listed on the Drop Zone page to go up for pre-order on April 9th I believe will be the Hasbro 4" Epic Heroes Guardians of the Galaxy figures we told you about yesterday.

Its just baffling and absurd that they didn't include the wings.

not really. They are mostly reusing the 12" Captain America with parts from other figure like Iron man and Thor. Only the head and parts of the boots and gloves are new. they probably didn't want to make wings for this.

They coulda put a couple of holes in the 12 inch Caps back for some wings. Don't think it woulda bankrupted them. It isn't the end of days, but it does bother me. Again, I will get him. Just a little less awesome. Still wanna see what the price tag is.

Exactly. C'mon, this is the first time hasbo has done the Adaptoid; why not get it right?  Not wanting to make the wings for a character that's known to have them is cheap and lazy. Will I get it, probably not but even so, just do it right.

When they mentioned the name "Super-Adaptoid"--I thought....yeah, this is a character I've wanted for a long time.

Seeing their execution of it, it's something I'm not going to touch.  This should have been a all-new sculpt, to reflect that is NOT a strictly human-proportioned character--they could have exaggerated it somewhat.  It looks cheap, half-assed........like a green-painted Captain America.

Because that's what it is!  Really disappointed.

I'm with the general concensus here. Not worth my time, certainly not worth my money. It's exactly what it looks like, a low effort green Captain America figure from a defunct line with a few tweaks and a few (2 to be exact) re-used accessories to confirm it's identity, but with a couple of distinct omissions (wings and arrows). Lazy product at a premium price. We get enough of that isht in the standard line. I'm not about to contribute to it infecting the Deluxe line as well.

Do we know for sure the wings aren't included? Didn't Doom and maybe another figure or 2 have parts included that we didn't know about? Probably not though, knowing Hasbro and the fact it's a reused body.

I don't really mind the reused body, a giant Captain America suit already existed, so it was pretty expected for them to use it. Hopefully there's no mold degradation or anything, the 12-inch figures were from 7 years ago.

It could still have wings, but no showing them initially was a massive put off for me.

Totally digging the Super Adaptoid, yeah it's a strange thing they just used parts from old 12'' stuff but honestly it works, and clever of them to do so, I never thought we'd get a Super Adaptoid so I'm not going to whine about it, yeah should have wings and maybe in the end it does, but I can be cool without it, also def going for the Skrull pack, I do wish however that Varanke wasn't in a Spider-Woman outfit and was one of her regular looks but I'll take it.

I certainly hope it has wings as well, that's just the classic Super Adaptoid in my book. I wish they had done a new sculpt too, those thighs especially just are a glaring reminder that it's just a re-used Captain America figure. But is it adaptoidish enough to make me purchase... yeah, but I really want wings and hope they just didn't have them for the Pulse reveal.  Let's wait and see what price point they put on this one.

There won't be wings. That would have required retooling that 12" Cap torso, and they clearly didn't do that.

well, they could just make a "backpack" to slot into the hole in the back. But yeah. it's unlikely they would go through the effort of making 12" wings for this one figure.

I am not interested in Super Adaptoid, but man, if I was, I would be so pissed that it doesn't come with wings. To be that close to what you want, and have them miss the mark.  I have said this before, but I so wonder what their research and development team is made up of, because so many of Hasbro's mistakes and missed opportunities could have been easily avoided by having a quality control person who weighs in on size of buck, costume choice, color scheme, and accessories. There is honestly no excuse for them not getting it right every time.

Right. And the idea that they won't make specialty parts/figures because they can't be used anywhere else, doesn't hold water either. If they can make the big "cape" for Night Hawk, the effect/wing back piece for Nimrod, they can make green oval wing pieces for Adaptoid. Drill in some holes on the torso and Bob's your uncle. Come on, they're just recycling an older figure from nearly 10 years ago and they're increasing the price? At least add the wings.

It's not like customizing. They can't just drill holes into the torso. Alterations to the torso require new tooling just like a brand new torso.  That said, they can do that, they just clearly chose not to.

Exactly! It is frustrating when you see them absolutely crush a figure, but then see them miss the mark on a figure that would have been easy to nail. The new Blob figure is truly remarkable (in hand it is just crazy good) , so we know they can do it when they want to.
