New Marvel Select Classic Captain America Figure From DST Revealed

ShartimusPrime has revealed a new 7" Marvel Select Classic Captain America figure coming from Diamond Select Toys.
 

Looks like the figure will come with two headsculpts, multiple hands, ricochet effect pieces and two shields. The MSRP is $29.99 and this figure should be available for pre-order at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth this coming Thursday (4/20) at 9pm PT.

Damn, once again they get the proportions wrong. The figure is a nice improvement over the last Classic cap, but the head is way too small.

I love the select figures for the most part but the last 3(MR Fantastic, Invisible Woman and now Capt) have all looked too cartoon like.  It sucks because the previous  6 to 8 were home runs.

Yeah, that is a nice detail! I am surprised Marvel Legends never did that on the cowl of a Cap figure, considering it was prominent in the comics, as I remember. I think the Mego Cap in the seventies may have even gotten that right.

I agree that the proportions are off. The head is noticeably too small and neck is too thin. Feet look small too. Quads look a little too big.

Proportions look off to me too. I get ol' skool Toybiz Cap vibes from this. I am selfishly hoping that those shields are undersized so I can use them with legends though! 😁

I'm not that impressed with this offering from Diamond, they have been knocking it out of the park lately, but this seems like a step backwards, this definitely has odd proportions, and a small head, the articulation seems weird, this has more of a Toybiz vibe then a 2023 DST figure to me, it is cool they gave him the old style shield though, and clearly 2 heads, a cellshaded one and a regular one.

This has to be homage to first Toybiz ML Cap, proportions and design elements are too similar to be just a coincidence, I wonder if it was originally sculptor's pitch for ML anniversary line, which declined for some reason, since there's couple of sculptors who work both for DST and Hasbro.

The proportions and sculpture do seem like a throwback to the ToyBiz wave 1 Cap.--but it seems to me like both ML and Select have been showing slightly softer sculpts over the past while.

Seeing the in hand pix make me want it more. I think it looks good… now I need to figure out if I need more than one.

Not usually a big Diamond Select guy but this one is looking great! I'd be in a bigger hurry to preorder if they scaled with marvel legends but unfortunately, space is already a bit limited.  It isn't always easy collecting on a budget! You can definitely see the work they put into this and I'm sure this will be a great offering for all the Diamond Select collectors out there.
