The first trailer for Sony Marvel's Kraven the Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson dropped during Sony’s CinemaCon presentation tonight.

Taylor-Johnson via video set up the teaser for the audience and answered the question...

Quote

“Will it be rated R? F*ck yes, it’s going to be rated R.”

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing, with the screenplay written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk.

Kraven the Hunter is one of Marvel's most iconic and notorious antiheroes and has had encounters with Venom and Black Panther, among many others, and is one of Spider-Man’s best-known and most formidable enemies.

Quote

The teaser begins with Kraven facing off with Australian mercenaries, stabbing them in the neck and biting off one’s nose. He’s a no-nonsense Marvel antihero. Russell Crowe plays his dad, teaching him to respect the world around him, and there’s a shot of him with a young Kraven feeling the spirit of a dead cow. “We are predators,” Crowe tells the son in a voiceover.

At one point, Kraven’s brother, the Chameleon, played by The White Lotus’ Fred Hechinger, tells him, “You’re just another man hunting for a trophy.”

A voice intones, “There is an animal in each one of us.”

There’s a shot of Kraven in a luxe office behind the desk with a crossbow as his victim enters. Ariana DeBose, who plays Calypso, tells Kraven, “You’re a goddamn lunatic!”

Rhino also briefly appears in the footage, “Don’t you want to know why they call me The Rhino?” as his arm morphs.

Oh yay, another Spider-Man villain movie without Spider-Man. Except this time it's rated R. Maybe this one will finally be the one Sony! Boy would I have liked to have seen a live-action showdown between Spidey and literally any of these villains, but I guess all of them shoved into a bloodfest together is the best I'm gonna get. Good lord, I hadn't realized how much resentment I've built up for these movies lol.

Feeling the same way. Still haven’t watched Morbius, but with both Venoms I had enough

Seems unnecessary to make this film rated R. Plus now this ONE rated R movie will stand alone amongst Sony's other PG13 offerings.

So no chance of a crossover with say, Morbius (which should have been rated R and really went wild) or bringing Kraven into a PG13 crossover waters down what came before.

Plus, no Spider-Man.

I don't know, this all still seems as directionless as before

Rhino will apparently transform from a human into a Rhino. We have already have a humanoid transforming into a rhino appearing in cinemas this summer. His name is Rhinox and he appears in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Why can we not have a human stuck in a rhino's hide? Why?

The Spider-Man cartoon by Dan Slott had the Rhino as a Man-Rhino as well

Sounds kinda cool with the Rated R action, but I have low hopes, sony just fumbles it up, also Rhino being someone who morphs into a Rhino and not a dude in a suit sounds wack, w/e i'll wait for a trailer before I really make any judgement, but it seems like another fools run by Sony.

Madame Web is the only one that I could see POSSIBLY working because it's sort of a Spider-Verse movie, but the whole storyline that's been rumored for it sounds ridiculous. Regardless it'll probably be better than the other based on concept alone. Speaking of Spider-Verse movies though, it would have been awesome if instead of villain movies, these had been alternate Spider-Man movies. I'd watch the hell out of a Spider-Man 2099 movie, or Spider-Man Noir, or Spider-Gwen, etc.

Arn't they not rumoured to be doing a Spider-Gwen movie? thought I heard that, also Amazon is going to be apparently doing a Spider Man Noir movie or show I thought? So you might be getting those.

I honestly haven't kept track. They've announced stuff that hasn't been talked about since like that Black Cat and Silver Sable movie they had announced way back. But I think if those are coming they'd probably be better than these movies by default.

Yes this is true, there have been a lot of announcements and the lionshare have been redacted and never came to fruition, such as the Silver Sable and Black Cat thing, and a handful of things I don't recall anymore, but as of recent I did hear whispers of Spider-Gwen something...def just recently it was said Amazon was going to do something SPider-man Noir....but like those mentioned films/shows they might never happened.

It's happens a lot. LOads of announcements and nothing happens because the studio jumps the gun. Like how many Star Wats movie have been announced that haven't happened.
