What about unsung 90’s Marvel hero The Illuminator? I remember getting an issue of the illuminator from my local Christian bookstore in the 90s! He was really cool! I was trying to think which existing character would make for a good custom base to make an Illuminator?

I swear I thought I was the only person who remembered the garbage that was The Illuminator.

I do like the lighter,  more comic colored suit he is sporting but not sure how I feel about the soft goods loin cloth. I get why this figure has it, but it kinda of throws the figure off for me. In pics at least. I am absolutely buying this set, maybe two.. (May need extra cycles so anyone who doesn't want them, send them my way haha). I will have to see how he hits my sensibilities once in hand.

I love that we are getting the definitive versions of Classic Avengers so much recently. This 60th anniversary has been an absolute gold mine, this Hawkeye set, as well as the upcoming Target Ant-Man, Monica  Cap Marvel, Sersi, Masterson Thor.. all much needed and in my preferred suits..

Finally a shot of him standing straight up and forward hah that was driving me kinda nutty. So good! Only thing I’m not really crazy about is the 2D loincloth that looks like toilet paper.. could’ve been better if they attached the arrowhead pods onto it or something at least. And made it the same purple color of course.

So close, and yet so far... the front "loincloth" piece looks really bad- it looks like a cheap, heavy felt, which won't actually "drape" well over the Sky Cycle. The black outlines of the rectangles also look really bad, largely because the rectangles on the top half of the figure don't have any kind of outline, or wash, etc., to bring out the details, so they just don't match up. They could have included an interchangeable plastic loincloth, and/or executed the fabric one well, and this would be a home run. Frustrating.

Haha. I was so busy trying to place that base body I totally didn't notice that cheesy cloth. I'm starting to prepare myself for disappointment.

Its bizarre how they put money and time into it only to throw in enough "wrong" to make fans say this kind of thing. I just can't figure it out.

Agree; they seem to have really missed the target (no pun intended) for managing their Pulse page. Not only can all that stuff be found elsewhere, it sells out on Pulse way too fast. They could have specialty sets on there; box sets like the Marvel Monsters I've suggested many times. They could put some of these figures too many people have a hang-up about (an actual Emma Frost, Mephisto) there. Action sets like the F4 HQ, Danger Room, etc. Troop builders with fully decked-out arsenals like SHIELD (and female SHIELD) agents.  Vehicles like the Sky Cycle and Punisher's van.

I stand by my opinion that anything that is a Pulse-exclusive should not be able to sell out. The SHIELD agents haven't been up since release (where they sold out instantly).

I'm honestly confused by Pulse. What is the upside of ordering from there. A: Since it is a pay for free shipping situation, (oxymoronic) I haven't ordered anything from them. B: We are ordering from the source, why no discount? 😄 As mentioned, they sell out all the time. Other sellers don't nearly as much. 😧 Whenever I ordered from there I'd be the last to get my order. Stores, Amazon, EE ect would be shipping literally months before Pulse.

Seems that Figure reveal that Dan talked about will be shown at the same time as the Hawkeye figure. It's comic based but he hasn't said if it's for Pre-order or just a tease.

So another surprise like Joe Fixit. Hopefully it is a villain

This looks sick! I don’t usually care about what parts they are using/re-using, etc., even how comic-accurate it is; I care about how the figure looks and represents the character. This one is fantastic, and will easily replace the old school Toybiz one on my Avengers shelf. Plus, the cycle!!

Any minor quibbles aside, you have to admit that this year has been incredible for the collectors out there. We’ve been getting such great additions and rehashes that are superior. Now, all I need is for them to go do a New Universe DP7 team boxset, and this year would be complete hahaha.

Well, I guess the SA was where all the money went because for some reason that's the only one exorbitantly priced, the rest are all regular 2023 mainline price except Iron Man who is normal 2023 anniversary price. Not a bad thing but certainly weird. I'm gonna guess Bucky Cap will be $27 in keeping with Walmart's pricing for recent exclusives, and Black Widow could be $30-34 given she's considered a deluxe.

Hmm I initially planned on preordering but think I’ll wait and see what happens with it sale wise.

So with Iron Man being the only one sitting at $28, wouldn’t that mean the normal anniversary price this year is the mainline price? 🤔

I guess? Still weird to me, but I'm definitely not complaining.

I was just thinking, there is supposed to be another comic Guardian this year right? Maybe tomorrow's reveal could be it.

Or maybe that additional Avengers release Dan teased a while ago.
