Really hoped a Pulse exclusive would have been the place for an accurate Moondragon. Thanks, Disney. Still really like the Drax. Of course it comes out the day after I get an email that my Pulse expired.

This is in the comics. It wasn't because of Disney at all. Hasbro would be hesitant no matter who the owner was.

Its a shame that they seem more worried about who knows what (because they've never officially said) than what the customers, you know, the people who ACTUALLY BUY THEIR PRODUCTS, want.

This is, however, a costume she wears, its just not classic Moondragon. Didn't expect to see this just yet, but I kinda thought they might put her on the She Hulk buck from the Super Skrull BAF wave. Technically she's not quite that tall but I don't think they have another buck that could work. Drax is a great addition; at first I thought he's way bigger than he should be, but I recall that when he was reborn after Moondragon killed him, he became that huge.

Me too. I always kind of thought that was the entire point of exclusives. To do figures that might just be a little too much for store shelves in the big retail stores. I remember the Thunderbolts SDCC exclusive that had Satana and Moonstone and then Walgreens doing Emma and another Moonstone. Nothing crazy but it allowed them a little more freedom to be more accurate. I know its still comic accurate as @tarot pointed out but its still like they are from two different points in time. Im not ot saying they had to go full blown slingshot Moondragon on this one but if there was ever any place for a more classic version it should be with the classic Drax. Right? I'm sure the reason this is an exclusive is mostly because of the obscurity of the characters but if it was going to be an exclusive anyway why not go that extra step and make I more fan friendly? Still happy to have it and maybe someday they'll do a classic version. You never know.

I’m not convinced that a classic version on Moondragon is forbidden unless they outright say it. It’s not like she was always Goblin Queen wild.

LOL. You hit it on the head. The pic on the right is what most of us consider classic but she was drqwn quite often as the picture on the left. I guess it depended on the artist. That left side would have been okay for this and still looked classic. Even if they had to to bring that center V line up a little she would still look classic. The bottom line is this thing was an exclusive mostly i think because its supposed to appeal to the older fans because new fans don't recognize these characters in these forms. But if that's the case why not make it more appealing to the more mature audience? I guess it's a fine line they have to skate just in case the younger fans want to participate but I really miss those earlier days where Hasbro took a few more chances. Especially with exclusives. People in my FB group are a little harsher than this group but I still don't see it being a large factor of whether they get this set or not. LOL. I think the shipping and dealing with Hasbro Pulse has a lot more to do with it than anything with the design. If you want these figures you'll get them. Pure and simple. We may never see them again. FOMO at it's best.

I honestly think the version they've chosen is good, Would I preferred her iconic version, of course. But I'm still pleased with what we are getting.

maybe they could go wild and hit us with this number with an infinity watch has-con boxset.

Marvel Heroes Classic Roleplaying Game - Marvel RPG

LOL. That's what I was calling the Slingshot version on my earlier post. And don't count on it. It would be cool though. with a fully articulated cape too.

I mean, we've gotten Namor in HIS classic look. I think in an inch by inch fabric comparison, Moondragon would be more covered than our favorite Prince of Atlantis haha

I'm not sure where Hasbro makes the distinction.

Let's be real, Moondragons original suit is ridiculously impractical  BUT that is how she was drawn for a long time and I think this is where longtime fans want that version someday.

I'm glad to have any Moondragon but would love to see her classic look at some point

Exactly! You got it. Notice how the issue of "appropriate" and "impractical" only ONLY comes up if we're talking about female figures. That harness thing (or the shoulder sash) for Hercules is impractical, it makes no sense. Moon Knight's full face mask AND hood would block his vision and muffle his hearing. Shang-Chi ran fought ninjas and armored assassins in alleyways, strewn with debris and broken glass, and he was often barefoot. The Falcon flew into winter skies with snow coming down, virtually bare armed and bare chested.

But this is how the characters were depicted. And bear in mind, they were sold in stores and on comic racks, all over the nation, for whoever wanted them, regardless of age, etc. Why there's an issue now, is all due to extremism and worse, people caving to that extremism. Here's hoping that characters like Moondragon and Mantis will very soon be on sale in their classic forms.

Oh, and don't forget Red Wolf! And how cool would it be to get M-11, The Human Robot!!

Yeah the attempts at political discussions on here are almost never fruitful and this exact topic has been beaten to death a dozen times over. Anyway, as for that costume choice I'm hoping it means we'll get to see some more modern Guardians in the near future. Still waiting on Gamora in that white suit, and though it's probably a long shot for legal reasons, Bug would be cool as well.

Well I think with the end of the MCU arc it kind of relieves the obligation for Hasbro to put the movie figures ahead of the comic property. The property still has recognition so they could continue with it and hopefully it starts to lean towards the comics like the Avengers waves have. I look forward to seeing a comic based modern Star Lord and let's not forget we still haven't gotten a comic based modern Drax as a regular release. Who'd have thought they'd do a classic version first? Comic forms of Gamora in her armor, Mantis, Nebula and some of the more obscure characters are still to be done. The Guardians still have a lot of gas in it's tank as far as action figure possibilites. As the MCU starts to move towards X-Men and Fantastic Four it think it gives some space for Hasbro to visit these characters and maybe some from the original Guardians lik Starhawk, Martinex Nikki and who doesn't think Charlie-27 would make a great BAF?

A GOTG or just a Cosmic wave in generally is Extremely likely. Hell, we are supposedly getting a Marvel Knights wave this years. However, that wave is more then likely to celebrate Luke Cage, Iron Fist and DD anniversary.

The first GOTG team appeared in 1969 so we have quite a wait still for an anniversary line.

90s Drax looks cool but was personally hoping they’d keep the classic versions flowing after Star-Lord, Yondu and the neo-classic Ronan, like coming through with Starlin’s Drax but whatever. Most of all though, I wonder if Adam Warlock will fall into this theme because I’m itching for a Starlin version as well as an Infinity Gaunlet update.

Classic Drax would probably be a smaller figure but I see where they were going here. It would've been cool to see them do the yellow liner to the cape. I noted how similar his outfit was to the Vision's; curved collar, skull cap with widow's peak, "kidney" belt. Starlin era Warlock would be good but I also want to see classic Warlock.

The original Drax, a resurrected Arthur Douglas, was a standard human size. But when the threat of Thanos again rose, Kronos resurrected him again with far greater strength, power and durability. However, he did not fix Drax brain, which had been destroyed by his daughter Moondragon, in around Avengers #220. So, 1990's Infinity era Drax was a powerhouse without rival, but with the IQ of an infant... which made for some very interesting and amusing stories. I hope we get more key players from the Inifinity era. Adam Warlock especially, but also big baddy Magus, comic Nebula, Pip the Troll, classic Gamora (which is her crisscrossed green mesh body suit) and that devil in Thanos' ear, Mephisto!

Oh I concur about Gamora. I was able to get her figure from the 5-pack they did years ago (just her, no interest in the others) for a steal. One of my favorite figures- she doesn't have her classic fishnet body stocking but its still a nice look for her.

Geez Hasbro is all over the eras for the GOTG.. classic Vance and Yondu...Walmart StarLord is an anomaly as this version wasn't technically in the team as we know it.. then Drax and Moondragon from a third era all together.

The 70s era Guardians are my priority so we still need Starhawk, Nikki, Charlie, and Martinex..

The rest I can take or leave. To me, this version of Drax is Infinity Watch amd while this isn't any version of Moondragon I'd ASK for, I'll gladly take her as this is likely the first and last one we get

Yes! I had that figure too, my second favorite version of her look. Unfortunately, I was confident we would get the classic version soon, so I sold it. I'm glad someone still has that one... maybe that was mine?! Lol!

Best thing about her, they had her on the correct body buck, AND they used this kind of olive green paint for her skin. I've always thought if there ever were green skinned people, that's the shade they would be.
