Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Magneto Role-Play Helmet From Hasbro

Shown below via Gizmodo is a look at the new Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Magneto Role-Play Helmet from Hasbro which will be available tomorrow (5/19) at 1pm ET for pre-order at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth.

This is the first merchandise we are seeing released for the new Disney+ X-Men 97 Animated series coming later this year which picks up were the original Fox animated series left off. The deco is inspired by the cartoon, as well as being wearable just in case you ever need to psionically protect yourself from the mental powers of your nearest and dearest rival/friend/archnemesis/occasional sovereign state co-creator, the helmet also includes a stylized stand to display it on.

Well this is a clear indication that tje next full wave to be revealed will more then likely be that xmen 97 wave.

yeah that was leaked info, so it's just a rumour at this point, but seems like we can determine from this item, that indeed it should be true, I mean the leaker so far has gotten everything right, so X-Men 97 wave should be on it's way, I'm curious as to what the X 97 wave will bring us, I do imagine just new releases of the popular characters, more like a greatest hits of the Jim Lee style figures, new TS Wolvie, Non Cell Shaded Cyclops, likely a new Magneto (this helmet would suggest), etc. The only thing I really hope we get in this wave is another Professor X and Chair, since I don't have him, and it makes me bummed out I don't, I still kick myself I snoozed on him until I couldn't get him.

I always thought Magneto's helmet wouldn't be practical in the real workd but it looks pretty good in the pic

I assume Magneto will be in his purple "hero" outfit from the show. 

Helmet looks awesome, by the way. The Black Panther and Ant-Man ones I have take up a lot of space but if I can make some room, I'm definitely picking this one up.

I'm happy with the Professor X's chair from the last go-round, but I can definitely see improvement potential up the wazoo for any future efforts, so I would recommend keeping an eye out. Even if they don't upgrade the chair, I can't possibly see an X'97 wave without it.

Wow, I wonder if they're pulling from the old cartoon or the upcoming one. Or the comic book. I guess all three are possible. I just hope if it is a 97 wave they just do the characters from that time and don't go full cell shading trying to immitate the cartoon. They are not very good at getting it right. On most figures. They can leave that to those VHS boxed exclusives.

yeah I'm happy with the Prof X and Chair we got, but I never got it, that's my problem, I'd have bought it if I ever saw it for a reasonable price, I wish I had bought him the 1 time I saw him on the shelf, but I was already buying so much that day and I presumed I'd see him again, I was wrong,  I just really need a Xavier fig for my collection, can't have X-Men without him, so I hope this is the chance we have to get a new one.

The rumoured listing for the wave was Bishop, Gambit, Magneto, Rogue, Storm, and Wolverine. Gambit and Rogue feel like weird inclusions, since they got those Target rereleases already, unless they’re cel-shaded, and helping to fill in that collection for people. A non cel-shaded version of the VHS Cyclops seems like it would’ve been a slam-dunk. I wouldn’t mind a version of Jim Lee Rogue on a better body, I guess. On the other hand, Storm and Wolverine seem like weird inclusions if they are cel-shaded. Either way, Bishop and Magneto feel like good calls, and I’d put even odds on Magneto being in the classic red and purple versus the 80s ‘M’ costume. Xavier doesn’t seem to be in the cards (especially since I don’t think he’s even in the show, at least not initially), unless maybe there’s a tie-in exclusive.

See that bums me out, I didn't know they had a leaked list of the characters in this rumoured wave, but I guess I glazed over that, it's actually nice to see that a new Bishop and Magneto might be coming for everyone who missed Bishop the first time (I know a lot did) and Magneto was locked in a 3 pack so I know people were hoping for a single release at some point, but for me if there isn't a new Xavier I'm probably going to skip all of this wave, I'm really only pining over a new Xavier personally, so I guess if that leaked list is true, I hope Xavier is coming maybe as a fan channel, I just need Prof X dammnit.

I can definitely see Xavier being released again. Maybe with the new Hank Pym body from the upcoming West Coast Avengers box set.

Yeah I could see that now, they could pretty easily just re-paint that Pym, and make it the jumpsuit Xavier, as much as I'd prefer him in his Suit like they did the last release at this point I want Xavier bad enough I'd get that one, let's hope that's in the cards.

Let's just hope Hasbro doesn't do the awful cel shading since it technically would be part of the X-Men TAS  😂

I have a feeling, that the X-Men 97 figs will be free of Cel Shading, but I might end up being wrong, I sure hope not, but even if they did a Cel Shaded Professor X, I'd look past the Shading and still get it. 😬

Prof X is one of my most glaring omissions in my collection in terms of a character that's been released in an ideal look, that I don't have, I was stupid to pass on him when he dropped, and the chances have been slim and too expensive since my mistake, because I only saw him once in stores. How can you have the X-Men without Xavier...it's rough. I was just such a weirdo and didn't buy him until I realized it was way too late.

and I had no interest in a movie fig or that wack HOX spandex suit walking version of him figure.
