The producers from the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse spoke with Variety's column Just For Variety about what they have set for the third installment, next year’s Beyond the Spider-Verse.  Producers Amy Pascal and Avi Arad informed the column that a live-action Miles Morales movie is in the works and we'll be seeing a Spider-Woman movie sooner than everyone expects.

Hailee Steinfeld, who voices Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, mentioned that she is ready for a standalone Spider-Woman movie.

Quote

“This is like my dream job, sign me up over and over again,” she said about doing voice work. “I got to be comfortable! And it’s a dream to be in a space that feels so comfortable but also creative and free and just exciting to be a part of.”

Pascal said the fourth Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Zendaya is in development but has been delayed due to the writers strike.

Quote

“Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are,” she said. “We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

A Miles movie should have been done earlier that way Sony would have their own live action Spidey to play with

Agreed. Waiting their time trying to push these odd movies based on Spider-Villains is not going to have the outcome they need.

They should have announced this off the top, Miles morales live action movie should have been the starting point, not random villain movies or spider-persons movies, Miles could anchor the whole Sony Verse, would have made sense, not put out Morbius and multiple Venom movies initially, but oh well better late then never I guess.

I have been on my soap box about this for years. MCU gets Peter and his version of the villains, Sonyverse gets Miles and his version of the villains. Win win. No overriding Kraven in Black Panther, or no Oscorp,or God just sooooo many other issues, too many to list really.  Just two different parallel universes that can prop each other up instead of tear each other down and limit each other. Also pretty easy for normies to tell them apart so I don't have to break my brain explaing which Spidey I'm talking about to younger or casual fans. Plus the inevitable crossover movie would be epic, and actually looked forward to.

Yes that would be great. Just like the original Spidey and the Ultimte Spidey. Just like it used to be. Sony will never go for it though. Miles is by far the weaker of the two properties. Honestly I don't even think he'd be as strong as he is without Peter Parker adjacency. It's just true. The replacement rarely ever gets as popular as the original. Sony would never be able to match the numbers it has without Peter and probably not without Marvel's help. While it's a great idea Sony would be getting the short end of the stick. Unless Disney just gives them a but load of money and agrees to help the produce the movies which can be arranged.
