Marvel Select Crimson Dynamo Official Figure Images

We showed you this one the other day on display at the DST booth at SDCC, but now we bring you the official promo images of the 7" scale Marvel Select Crumson Dynamo. Looks like the figure will come with an unhelmeted headsculpt and laser effect pieces. Like with their Titanium Man figure, this one should work pretty well with your Marvel Legends figures for those who like the more classic look of the character. No word yet on when this one will be going up for pre-order but hopefully soon.

it will be too large for a ML display but it does look nice.

yeah when I first saw this I thought oh amazing the Crimson Dyanmo I've wanted, but I realized shortly after, no it wouldn't work with legends, because this is going to be to large, it won't scale well, this suit wasn't a massive huge suit, it was like under 6 ft, this would have to be a much smaller figure to work with Legends, it's too bad because they did this figure well and I like it, but I best wait out and see if Legends gives this a go. But then again they might mess up the size, who knows.

This appears to be Dimitri Bukharin in the Mark IV Crimson Dynamo armor. It stood at 6' 10"according to the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.

So in 1/12 scale would be 6.8 inches tall.

Yeah seems you are right, didn't even pay attention to the unhelmeted head it's def Dimitri, so this may work okay for Legends, depending on actually how big this guy is, might get it after all, thanks for the info.

I'm sure that I'll buy this since I also bought the Titanium Man that they did. I'm interested in seeing Annihilus. I have the old Habro BAF but surely this will be better, right? I passed on Beta Ray Bill and Apocalypse when they were available. I think Bill still is available, might still have to reconsider him. I'm not at all interested in the Marvel Select take on the F4 or Blade.

Around 10-12 years ago, there was an Iron Man Comic series of figures (running at the same time as Marvel Universe) and they did the classic Crimson Dynanamo. Its a great little 4" figure, and I thought for sure the 6" Marvel Legends couldn't be far behind. Needless to say, dozen years later, no joy. So when I saw this I was pumped...Select did it beautifully. I have that 4" figure. Select's version looks almost exactly like it, just scaled up.

Now I've raved about their Titanium Man, so you'd think I'd be in on this, but no. Titanium Man is a freakishly tall man, and his Select armor scales exactly as it should with a 6" Legends. However, Crimson Dynamo isnt nearly that tall so don't expect it to line up with shellhead. Can't imagine why hasbo is footdragging this but Select has done a stellar job here.

If you believe what Dwight said (which sounds fair) it is because Select are making them and they don't want to compete with them at the same time. If people had the choice of a BAF for Titanium man or Destroyer for example and Select releases the same figure, people will go for the cheaper option and buy the Select. If they wait for the Select version of those character to be harder to find, like with Destroyer, they will release their own version for people that missed out on the Select.

TLDR: it's all about timing.

I completely agree, I will never buy there small characters they just don't work well at all with any of my other marvel figures. They really only do good on their bigger characters, but that beta ray bill is easily one of the best the released

Sure, I would get that Dwight's saying they didn't want to compete with Select at the same time....it makes perfect sense.  If they hadn't waited over 10 years until Select did it. Non-compete clause notwithstanding, that 3.75" figure was done under Hasbro, hence my comment on foot-dragging to the 6" (by the way if you don't have an aversion to that scale, I would highly recommend picking that CD up, its grand. Its a REALLY dark red, kind of cherry coca cola color). Frankly I would like to get their 6" version if they ever do it. No plans to get the Select version but who knows. One good thing about waiting though, they have better techniques and features for figures than they did back then.

This was an instant pre-order. I previously got the Titanium Man and loved it.

I don't really buy the argument that Hasbro doesn't want to compete with Diamond on timing of these. They have to planned out way in advance where it's almost impossible to know what the other company would be doing at that time - and I doubt they're communicating like that. Look how close together those recent Illuminati/Black Bolt Super Skrulls came out? And a new Blade figure for both companies being announced so close together? Total coincidence perhaps but I don't think they're actively trying not to work on the same characters at the same time. If Hasbro announces a new Annihilus in the near future, it will be pretty funny.

Still contemplating if I should pre-order this, it looks amazing, but still seems a wee bit too big to scale with Legends, but maybe it's fine enough, or should I just wait and hope they do this guy in Legends at some point, which shocks me this has taken so long, but yet we got that weirdo more recent look as a BAF for the BW wave...

It DOES look incredible. Legends should do him along with these fiends...

Would make my day if ML took a shot at the other classic CD.

And with how great the recent Destroyer came out, I’d still like to see ML take on this armor - though would be tough to beat if Select simply released a classic green redeco which I would be totally satisfied with.

So maybe ML should focus on the Gremlin armor instead 🤩

This looks pretty good for a Select figure. They occasionally do some decent work but for every Beta Ray Bill they do they do an Iceman. I just don't depend on these guys for any kind of consistency in aesthetics or articulation.

It really does make me sad when the B-Team beats ML to the punch with guys like this because you know it just means it's going to be that much longer a wait till Hasbro feels there's been enough of a time gap to do their own without feeling like they're copying MS. What's funny is MS has no such qualms as it's quite clear the literally stole Hulk's design from ML and nobody is fooled by the slight changes to the sculpt of the pants and some smoothed out muscle detail. And before anyone points it out I know it was done by the same studio but it doesn't take away from the fact that it was more or less the same sculpt and build on a larger scale. I guess only after so many people pointed it did they do an All New sculpt for the Red Hulk but TBH it doesn't look all that different to me.

At any rate. As good as this looks and the Titanium Man as well I'll just keep on waiting for the ML versions because these will just be too large to fit in with my ML. Plain and simple. Thanks for playing guys but no thanks.

Hopefully with the Armor Wars movie looming we'll get these guys but I'm pretty sure that's at least a few years out. And who knows when this strike will end. If ever.
