Hasbro Celebrates Avengers 60th Anniversary! Part 1 of 7

LOL, I just had a funny thought. What if they made Giant Man like they did that kids' Growing Groot that they showed at SDCC - where it grew taller when you pushed a button... Can you imagine??? LOL, surely they'd never be that out of touch - but imagine the outrage.... LOL

I still think it's going to be a $400 24-25 inch Giant Man with Tier 1 being an alternate head or heads and possibly mini figures / ants, Tier 2 being First Appearance Wasp and Tier 3 being Yellowjacket (could be either Hank or Rita). If they went farther than that then I could see Jarvis as a final tier.

In terms of alternate heads, there are so many possibilities: Skrull, Zombie, Unmasked Hank, any of the other Giant Man/Goliath/Atlas character heads that could even somewhat go with the costume they choose (which I'm expecting will be a classic red, although the blue/yellow would be the 2nd most likely). There are just so many options there that I can't imagine that they won't do at least one -- besides that will give someone out there the desire/need to army build it...

I’m kinda expecting Wasp to be the only tier unlock that’s a repeat character while the others will be new to the line. And 6” version of Giant-Man to be included in the base offering unless they pull some early bird shenanigans with it. As far as alternate heads go, my guess is skrull.

I would definitely dig a Skrull head.

Rumor and I use the word RUMOR extremely heavily here cause you know Hasbro, is that this project will be 199.99$  (also note that Shogun part of the name is the project code name Not about Red Ronin)

https://hasbropulse.com/products/shoguntemp57cfe9a7

That would be surprising. But here's a thought. If it is that cheap, and I'm crossing my fingers, what if it's because it is such a generic body mold that they believe they can use it in the future for other figures such as Goliath or Yellowjacket or Atlas and it was most likely in the works already? After this Haslab I could see myself paying anywhere between $100 to $120 for one of those other guys as some Super Deluxe figure down the line. Of course that would have to also include a 6' version of said character in the set.

I can see them hedging their bet after the last Haslab fiasco and selling these things for the minimum cost to get this thing produced. It's not Hasbro's standard MO to give us more product for less but maybe that last project was a reality check.

Saw Shartimus posting that the Raz Malholtra version was "finally coming". Maybe it wishful thinking on his part but during the Avengers 60th, any version but Pym would be an interesting choice.

Plus, from what I've gathered on the Google machine, Raz's version is the same as the SDCC modern Pym version. Seems they could save cost and just include a swappable head.

Friday can't get here soon enough,

I've got the old Toybiz Giant-Man and I plan on keeping him regardless if Hasbro updates it. But wow, has Hasbro got a near perfect record of improving the TB versions?!? I really am hoping that we get Hasbro’s take on GM, it would be an absolute thing of beauty.

I'm having a hard time understanding why he would think that. True enough, hasbo pulls some wild and inexplicable....stuff?...with the 6" line. But for a major project, for a figure collectors have wanted for nearly 20 years, anything less than Hank Pym is gonna be disastrous for them. Especially after that last fiasco.

Not Clint, not Scott, not Bill, not Josten, certainly not this Raz guy.

And I'd be very surprised if they went for any costume outside of the older more "classic" ones (so that eliminates him again).

I wholeheartedly agree. As the Big (see what I did there?) Finale to the Avengers 60th anniversary, I'd be shocked if it were anything but Classic Giant Man the more i think about it. With a strong argument to be made that it could be blue Goliath. But anything else is seriously risking a second straight failure.

I'm still holding out hope that the (heavily) rumored $200 price means we can get all three of Pym's classic suits with some nice extras. Or as someone suggested, a good base body that gets us a chance to grab any classic suit that can't be fit I to this Haslab.

Such a price would be the best option....I could even see them throwing in classic Ant-Man. But they just did him, you say, you're nuts! Ah, but what if it were the very first costume, jagged boots and gloves? What If....they gave him the removable helmet?

I saw that, but Raz will probably just be alt parts to help entice people who might have a Giant Hank

They could give an alt 6 inch head for a Raz since we have the one from the first AM movie. I'm not sure if the head just pops off that one, or the SDCC for that matter. Raz does not wear the same outfit as the original Giant Man though, so for it to work with this one is wrong. Not sure what the pining for Raz is anyway. He's nice enough, but never an Avenger or really used much since his intro. Last I remember he was with the other Giant Men pretending to be a Frost Giant in War of the Realms.

Had a cool thought for tiers though, what about the Ultron/Pym amalgam for the 4th tier? Or a first app Ultron?

I watched the Shartimus YouTube video on this and he was totally joking about Raz. However, I'd love an alternate Raz head with the facial hair!

If this is really only going to be $199 like rumors suggest, then I have to expect that there won't be any accessories or tiers. I'd expect it to be just Giant-Man and maybe a 6" or smaller Wasp thrown in. I can't imagine that they'd actually make him shorter than the Toy Biz BAF, would they?? I'm hoping for a minimum of 18", or I don't think that I'd even bother.

It is going to be interesting to see how this thing shakes out. Given the failure of the Ghost Rider Haslab, they need a win. Giant Man is a solid idea, but in order for it to be a slam dunk, they need to nail the price point and the tiers. I hope they start considering Haslabs in the $200 - $300 range.  I made a custom Frost Giant out of a 14.5 inch Marvel Legends Hulk, and it looks great and scales well...they could do that much better than I did! and for less than $300 for sure!  Excited to see what comes about tomorrow!

Hmm I can see that being true 🤷‍♂️

- 20” tall, more or less.
- fairly basic body design.
- no LED features.
- 6” in same costume.

The tiers could end up just being swappable parts after all instead of other figures.

Well they sure are making him look pretty big in the pictures with that massive shadows. Something like the Surtur or Super Adaptiod would be a massive disappointment. I think anything under 24" would be a let down. it would be a really bad move to make this smaller than the Toybiz one, That's usually not Hasbro's deal. Most times it's bigger and badder than Toybiz. Except for maybe Abomination and Sasquatch and Ronan but they were at least better. It would also be disappointing if there weren't at least a few tiers in this one to kind of make it a little more appealing.
