I personally would be shocked if this didn't fund easily. I'd argue that Giant-Man is probably a more well known and popular character than either Galactus or the Sentinels (and I'm primarily an X-Men guy).

I mean in my mind "funding easily" is reaching your base goal in the first 72 hours or so.  Right now it's not even halfway there after 48 and has already reached the "slow roll" phase.  At this point if this thing funds at all, it's probably going to squeeze under the wire in the last 48 hours.

If you're talking about the Scott Lang MCU Giant-Man then that's the only way this statement makes sense. Giant-Man may be an older character than Galactus or the Sentinels but he has never been particularly popular, especially when the main thing he was known for for much of his existence was being a mentally ill abusive husband (to the point that it became his defining characterization in the Ultimate Universe).   He has very slowly started to shed that characterization in the last couple decades, but there's a reason that the main MCU Ant/Giant-Man was Scott Lang and not Hank Pym.

I'd argue he's not really more "well known" than the Sentinels or Galactus either.  Mostly due to the fact that Hank Pym has had a multitude of costumed identities over the years so for folks that aren't pretty deep in the comic lore Giant Man looks like a character that disappeared pretty early on, briefly reappeared (The Avengers Academy era), and then disappeared again.

None of this is a knock on the figure itself or the people that want it.  I think it's a great version of the character (easily the best yet designed), but bluntly I don't care enough about this particular character to drop $200 for an upgrade to my Toy Biz version, no matter how much taller or how many more finger joints or faceplates it has.  It just doesn't have the "cool factor" for me personally and I already have two giant-sized HasLab figures (and some large-sized vehicles on the way from other HasLabs for other lines) in a home where space is definitely getting to be at a premium.  A 12-inch Giant Man in an Avengers display gets the point across just fine for me.

I'm not gonna be mad if I'm proven wrong and suddenly this thing takes off later in the campaign, but it's still not going to be something I'm interested in unless somehow they find "that perfect character" for a tier add-on that I absolutely HAVE to have, which seems unlikely as I don't think that character (for me) would be someone particularly associated with Hank Pym or even the Avengers in general (I'm not even sure who it would be, honestly, but I'd know it when I see it).

Giant Man is in no way as desirable a collector centerpiece as Galactus or the Sentinel.  This is reflected in both the lower price and the more modest goal of 10,000 units.  I'd say its off to a good start but still questionable as to whether it end up funded or not.  There aren't exactly a lot of surprises with this one so feels like anybody whos going to get on board will likely do so fairly quickly, then the numbers will probably flatline up until the final 48 hours or so.

Please don't take this as snarky, but I find it weird that the baf is indeed one of the most sought after expensive ones in the entire line but this isn't coming off that way. The effort I put in hunting to build that "must have" Pym figure years ago would gladly be traded for ease of backing this. And I definitely wouldn't pay a ton for that figure now. He sort of holds up, but not quite.

This one is tricky for me, as I have the Toy Biz BAF Giant Man as well, and honestly, it's sufficient.  Hasbro put in some effort on the project--the face sculpts are all excellent, but my contention is that it's a value-for-the-dollar argument.  Some plug-in faceplates and alternate heads are " nice", but they don't go far enough as tier offerings go.  I'd ask for Hank's helmet look as well, and some smaller figures that accompany him.  Ultron One, OG Janet Van Dyne as the Wasp, characters that are "essential" to the lore, but not necessarily toyetic grabs on their own.  Something to give this project more ooomph.
Not enough pull for me.

There are always 4 tiers. More will come if the backers do.  They just haven't announced them yet. I would respectfully disagree that he's not worth the money. 6 inch figure is 25 bucks. Stack 4 each side by side you get 200 dollars with no tiers at all. Obviously if he's not worth the money to you, that's all that needs to be said. I'm just putting the other opinion out there.

And I've been thinking about what I had to do to build that TB figure. Talk about hostage figures! I only wanted Ant Man and Warbird and a few others. Had to get two variants, that was ridiculous, and some horrible figures like that Sabertooth. Yeesh.

I'm not sure that's an accurate indicator of how desirable it may be; the lower price point makes sense as it doesn't have the electronic features the other two have. Likely this isn't taking off like they wanted is because, great figure or not, collectors aren't convinced it's worth $200.00. It's bizarre that they didn't include at least a 6" Giant-Man; that would have pushed it over easily. That was a no-brainer and yet....!  I get that they didn't want to have a bunch of figures as tiers tied up behind the paywall....smart.  But they overcorrected in not having ANY.

Its funny that they were all into saving plastic by cutting out the windows, but then slapped together plastic faces for this (that will be wasted).  Better use of that money would have been to do the 6" figure instead.

Well, now on to my earlier suggestion for a YJ wave. On the heels of this that will push it over. Or how about a Giant-Man and FA Wasp two pack? Bonus Ant-Man head with removable helmet?

The price really does seem to be fair here. Galactus was $400, 32" and came with 3 face plates, an alternate head and 3 figures. Giant Man is $200, 24" and comes only with 4 face plates and an alternate head (presuming he fully funds. Seems like it's worth half of Galactus lol.

Yes it all seems to work out to me. So much so I didn't even question the price when they announced it. I do think as customers we almost expected there would be at least one 6" figure in the tiers. As I said before I think Hasbro misinterpreted our issue with the Hellcharger project. We didn't really care that figures were locked behind the tiers so much as the constant dangling and them continuously mooing "we'll never do these again if you don't get them now!" And then that the human Robbie was nothing more than a head sculpt and they tried that entire Earlybird deal. It was a mess from go. It's like they started the thing on immediate defense telling me they knew it was a bad idea from start. And then "ooooh look, it has tiny lights and stuff!"

In retrospect this is so much simpler and so much less insulting. I do think a 6" GM will be a final tier but they would stay smart to keep it to themselves for the time.

I'm also in the category of ending my active collecting, as:

  1. I have most of the main, classic characters that I want,
  2. I have no space to add more obscure characters,
  3. rising prices, and
  4. little interest in getting another version of a main character just for minor upgrades like pinless joints.

...buuuut, I think I'm going to get this. This would be the first HasLab that I participate in. I have the ToyBiz version so I was/am on the fence.

But IMO they did this one right by making it an A-list character in a classic costume at a reasonable price. They listened. And for that, I may have to get this one.

Also, really good job with the sculpt and details like the glass eyes.

I do wish they made it slightly smaller. I mean, where am I gonna stick this beast? I guess crouched down somewhere.

Other thoughts: I don't have any interest in the other face plates and will never use them, so I do wish they had picked other incentives for the tiers.

Another great shot convincing me that backing this thing was the right thing to do. I see the support still steadily creeping on this thing. I still see a lot of positive feedback in my FB group and other socials but the negatives are always the loudest. And that's to be expected. How are things supposed to change or improve without criticism? As long as it's civil and well founded. I still see a lot of people that do like this and do want this but are a little wary of pulling the trigger just yet. Online personalities seem to be split pretty much right down the middle. It's pretty easy to figure out which ones lean which way. I follow most of them just to get equal perspective but I do not bank my opinions based on any one in particular. I've hear from both sides and my stance is still that this is a good deal and my base instincts are usually right in tune with the temperature of the room and I hope it's that way this time as well. I didn't like the last one from the start and it turned the way I thought though I did back it to begin with. Somehow I get the feeling that if and when this thing hits halfway it will take off. Not sure what I'm basing it off I just hope I'm right.

That's odd.... Giant Man is photoshopped into this image. Why would they do that? This doesn't really provide an accurate size comparison. It also appears that the Star Wars ship in front of him is photoshopped into the image as well.

Ah, I see now. On his instagram account, Steve is just trying to show what the display WILL look like when Giant Man does actually arrive.

Ooof, it is really stagnant today. Went up 1 since I got up for work. I was hoping to at least keep the slow and steady rise goin. Fingers crossed for a big weekend here.

I've been watching and I actually think there is someone or maybe a few someone's trying to sabotage this project. Almost the same exact time every day in the morning a noticeable amount of backers pull out from the previous days end count. Almost like they're trying to spark that mass exodus that ultimately ended the Ghost Rider project. Of course up to date its always gone back up and beyond by days end but it just seems really strange to me. I do think a big wave will hit because I'm still seeing a lot of people with their hand hovering over the button but not exactly sure what they're waiting on. I don't see what the hold up is. By all indications the made a change to pretty much everything people didn't like about the last one. They actually responded to the fans but here we are. And just to put this out there. Ther are A LOT of online influences feeding A LOT of fear and hesitation into this which i think is contributing to the stall. A lot of them are the usual suspects but man there is one in particular just rubbing it raw. Not naming any names but I am really disappointed in the way they've been punching this. Maybe it's just to push story or just to create fresh content but I think it's a really doing a lot of damage.

we are getting a just under a hundred each day and we still have weeks.

39 days to be precise.  If you were making 100 a day (not "just under") you'll get 3900 more backers.  Add that to what we already have (4575 as of this post) and you get...8,475.  Or about 1500 backers short of basic funding.

I'm not counting this out completely yet...we've seen big late-stage surges in Marvel HasLabs before, but it's not looking great.  Especially as if this follows normal crowdfunding trends that "just under a hundred a day" is going to get lower through the middle weeks, which would mean a bigger gap that it would have to overcome later in the campaign.
