Man this does look good, The proportions and sculpting look much better than the comic bishop, but damn it looks like a new mold and Hasbro cant add a diaphragm cut or something. Man, so many figures would be better if it just added that 1 feature. That is not even crazy to ask for because quite literally every company has had it in place for years. Even Hasbro's other lines have some type of additional abdomen articulation!

While this figure does look good for what it is, these new X-Men figures are very Cartoon stylized, and the more you see them the less they seem to be able to pass as comic versions, this Bishop would be something I can see a ton of people liking since the last Bishop was pretty hard to find and now I'm sure is, but this does look really cartoony, good figure though, but not my cup of tea, seeing the comic version and this one side by side, I'm still really happy with that Sauron wave offering and I'm glad I got it when it came out.

Do you feel it's the sculpt or more the paint that makes them look cartoony? If it's just the paint that can be tweaked for a new comic version. If it's the sculpt Hasbro probably won't care and still reuse it for a new comic version 😂

it's more the sculpt actually, but the paint on particularly some of the other figs in this wave are giving off the cartoony vibe, overall it's just these figures look to specific, and are depictions clearly of something cartoon stylized, like for instance rogue being in clearly cartoon colours, and storm having a mohawk in that suit, these are too specific depictions, like this Bishop def has a non comic face and the short hair is throwing me off, not like I care personally because I already have all of these characters in comic form, but for anyone who was hoping to plug these into a comic collection, happy for those folks who are into these figs, they just ain't what I'd be wanting.

I agree the head sculpts are definitely cartoon specific. I am curious how the old comic Bishop head would look on that new body. I didn't watch the review, was the head swap done?

Yeah he does it, it works out fairly well, he says the skintones don't match exactly, also the comic head leans forward a bit, that seems to be the issues, but doesn't look all that bad, the cartoon head on the comic body is a bit small, so there is that as well.

So I wonder if Hasbro will resculpt a new comic head and rerelease it on this new body. If they do hopefully the paint apps are more in line with the original release and not with this '97 one.

I kinda doubt that, usually these very specific to a animated movie/show offerings, don't get much re-use, but who knows, as we know Hasbro would love to get the most mileage out of a tool, so that could go down, but as we have seen in the past seems less likely.
