A hideous mess to be sure, but not as bad as the shockingly horrid thing he wore briefly later....

Actually the second one was his first hero costume as the Avenging Angel

Man, very excited for Angel. Will be tempted to paint his boots and gloves yellow. Just really wish they’d eliminate the shin cuts in these cases where they paint the boots on.
But anyway, definitely hope to see him again in the blue deco, x-factor deco and most of all - an updated classic Archangel with pink detail this time. Plus new wings. 👍

I'm gonna be in line right away. I honestly do want this figure repainted and tweaked at least 3 times. Not even kidding. Original, Suspenders, Blue are musts for me. Want a few others too. This is the best look as far as teams though. Defenders, Champions of LA, rejoining the X Men. For real excited about this one!

Any news on whether there will be a Blue costume version? Variant?

Dude they just announced this one. Give it a bit of time.

Jumped on that Wolverine/Sabertooth 2 pack. Want the Lilandra figure but I have no interest in the Wolverine from that set. If I pick it up maybe I'll hold on to that Wolverine in case Hasbro releases a new Brood Queen and I can put the Wolverine figure in that display. Was hoping the Psylocke was going to be the armored outback version. Really excited for the Joe Fix it 2 pack!

Based on the Vulcan buck. What happened to the butterfly joints!!!?

Probably had to change that to accommodate the wings.

Guess I was confused, I thought that all of the Wolverine 2 Packs went up the other day, but I couldn't find Psylocke Mandarin 2 pack, guess this and the Patch x Fixit are going up at a later date? or am I trippin?

*edit

guess Yes, they are not up for pre-order yet, which is weird, why Stagger these?

Yep, just the two so far. Sabretooth had an April release date and Llandra a May date. My uneducated guess would be June July dates for the Psylocke and Fixit packs.

I've seen lots of people here and elsewhere talking about how else they can use those wings from Angel for additional variants of this figure and for other characters like Mimic. I expect that Hasbro will wait to see how this sells before attempting to do anything additional with those wings (especially for a lesser known character like Mimic, for example). Do we even know a projected price-point on this yet? My guess would be something around $35. Thirty-something seems realistic. The absolute floor is of course the price of a regular figure at $25, which seems incredibly unlikely. The absolute ceiling they could probably realistically ask is $60 similar to Blob/Cyborg Spider-Woman, but that thankfully is probably even less likely than the floor. I could see them trying to price him like a 2-pack at around $50 like they did with Hawkeye and the SkyCycle - but hopefully they know that's too high. I'll stick with my $35 estimate, but I could certainly see them doing $40 and I'd still pay it for sure.

I do think that we're going to see far smaller runs of everything they produce, so waiting on sales may be a fool's game in the future. Only time will tell, but I'm expecting that we won't be seeing anywhere near as much product produced from this point forward ending up at places like Ollie's, Ross and Kids Warehouse or sticking around long enough to be liquidated at 50% off at places like Target like they have the last couple of years. I also think we'll continue to see brick and mortar retailers like Target/Walmart continue to get even more selective about what they stock, and how much of it. I live in a town with a population of around 80,000 in a county of around 750,000. My town has one Super Target and one SuperWalmart but there are several more of both within the county, all within a 10-15 minute drive. The Walmart in my town didn't stock any Legends in between the Black Panther Legacy wave (which they still have on the pegs) and The Marvels movies wave and both of those hit long after they'd been in stock at online retailers. My Target got plenty of the Avengers Anniversary stuff but completely skipped the Puff Adder and Ch'od waves altogether. I've definitely learned from experience not to necessarily to expect to see anything stocked locally - and expect that only to get worse in the future. Does what I'm experiencing locally match what others are seeing elsewhere?

I definitely meant the Mimic comment as more of a wishlist/hopeful statement than an inevitably. Just trying to spark up a conversation and see if anyone else is with me sometimes. I don't see them making such a deep track deluxe, but stranger things have happened. Like the Spider Woman that had zero lines or more than a minutes screen time in that movie. (guessing there's more to her in the next one)

I never like to predict what these guys will/won't do ( I mean who saw that Armpit For Hire coming) but were I you, I'd hold off painting anything 'cause its pretty safe bet they will probably do the yellow gloves/boots fairly soon after this one hits.

yeah youre right I forgot about the mask, he wore that when he was doing his solo thing before the X-Men. Good catch.

Thing is, I like red, its my favorite color, but in that outfit it just looked wrong.

Red is my favourite colour as well. I think the problem is the lower part of the costume with the yellow crotch and black stripe that wrecks the costume

Very stoked we are getting this classic Angel! Been wanting this one for quite some time. The lack of butterfly joints is a bit disappointing but not as big a deal to me as it might be to other collectors. This combined with that updated Sabretooth is definitely a great way to bring in the new year.

I'm also concerned about the loss of the butterfly joints as many are. But I don't think they will be much of a hindrance to function of the figure. I have a friend who made a custom Firelord and Silver Surfer out of a couple of Rock Python figures and they both fly in different stances. Other than obviously having less articulation neither has any limitations as far as posing them flying. Firelord can be posed prone with his arm in front of him while holding his staff and Sufer does the one arm out front and one arm trailing behind him thing while standing. I know this is a different model but all I'm saying is it may not matter.

But In the end it is a little concerning that they had to compromise any articulation at all. You mean to tell me that in this day with all its capability and resources Hasbro couldn't find a way to incorporate the wings and butterfly articulation to work together? Especially with the hefty $40+ price point I'm predicting?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Falcap is totally new. It's definitely not just wings added to that figure from years ago.

the body isn't. it's a re-release of a set that came Comic Kate Bishop and Uncanny Avengers Vision.

Guess I should have actually busted him out before I hit send on that comment. Lol He's not even a little different! Even the head is the same. That's a bummer.

Yep it is literally the same figure with the wings that should have been included years ago. Only thing is now they're probably charging much more than they would have been back then.

Those pics with the new hands added a lot to the poseability. Had me fooled! I honestly didn't remember him being so detailed. Somehow pictured his arms and gloves being much smoother. Pretty pathetic on my part considering he's been on display with my alternate Caps and allies section since he was released. Sucks that I'm still gonna need him for the wings and that new shield. Hope he's not more than 30. Wishful thinking there though. Assuming he and the Hydra Cap were supposed to come out for Cap 4 and they were too far along to hold up. Wonder what else we will get that was ready for all the projects that got pushed back.

Instead of trying to pacify MCU collectors with the same already released figures, they should just let that go. The hasbo team knew (and certainly so did the fans) that the movie properties were going to get pushed back, so there should have been a contingency already in place. Just an idea, how about improving and re-issuing some figures that got butchered, or what about filling up some of these teams? For example when they did the Excalibur box set, they said Rachel Phoenix wasn't included "because they didn't have time". That was 2, 3 years ago. They could make her, Marinna, the rest of the Guardians and Starjammers for that matter, and have them ready to go for issues like this.  There's a comic filler wave for ya.

I don't see that happening if for no other reason than I don't see that being particularly appealing to retailers. "Here's a random assortment of C and D list characters to make up for the movie stuff you thought you were gonna get being pushed back!" probably isn't that big a selling point.

If we do get some sort of emergency fill-in wave, I suspect it'll essentially be the like some of the fan channel 80th anniversary figures, which they said were similar last minute additions. IE, redecos of existing sculpts or flat out rereleases. Any Starjammers, Alpha Flight members or non-movie Guardians are probably gonna be in X-Men or Avengers waves when they finally get released.
