A lot more than you think. Just ask the audiences that saw Crimson Tide, 1995. Before any of the Fantastic Four movies, before Blade, before anything that could be called the MCU.

I still don't like Pedro Pascal's 'stache on Reed, but the rest of this is working for me. I like how they are making the 60's style all it's own ( the cars!).

I feel like I was very wrong about the Sue casting. She seems great from these clips at least.

Seeing Galactus' Helmet was pretty goose bump inducing! And seeing Malcovich pretty much seals that he's Red Ghost. 

Overall pretty awesome trailer. Maybe the MCU is gonna  "restore the feeling!" This year!....hopefully.

I am thoroughly impressed I must say. It looks fantastic. Pun intended. All the characters look awesome. But we all know you can put a pretty coat of paint on a hunk of junk. As we all know it's going to come down to story and development. And most importantly dialogue. And that is the part that concerns me most. Even though this movie is going to be set in the past I somehow think Disney is going to find it very very very hard to not do the Disney thing and interject modern hot points into script. You know basically all the stuff that pretty much they said they were't going to do for Brave New World but still did. We'll see. I love the look at this thing. And if the story is as half as good as it looks and they're able to keep the actors from attacking the fans we might have a winne here. Also I hope they don't just stay in the past. I for one hate the whole concept of time travel. It's basically an excuse to more or less undo everything that was done in previous points in a story and it's basically just a cheap cop out but I do hope these guys get to exist in the modern world among the X-Men and whatever silly version of the New Avengers their going to conjour up. Maybe through some posts credit scenes after this movie. Preferably some kind of cryogenic freezing. Though I think that might not be on the table since they used it in Captain America. Still they used the whole quantum time slip in Endgame as well.

I would think the Negative Zone would be a good MacGuffin to get them out of this reality and into "ours".

I have mixed feelings. I'm an old school FF fan.  The movie appears polished with a nice retro vibe but the casting has me thrown a bit. Pedro Pascal is great in his many roles, but for me, he is not, nor looks like Reed Richards. Perhaps the mustache is visually getting in the way of selling his portrayal for me?  Sue Storm seems nicely cast. There wasn't enough of Johnny Storm in the trailer for me to see but he seems to at least look the part. I hope there is more to him than that.  The look of Ben Grimm as the Thing is great but: 1) While I know he is not the Hulk, he appears a bit too small; 2) his Rocky body seems to always be covered up; and 3) his voice doesn't evoke the rough and tumble Yancy Street New Yorker personality that Jack Kirby and Stan Lee created him to be. Notwithstanding, I look forward to it and hope the rest of the movie overcomes my observations. Cheers!

Lol, I dig this man! LOVE the retro vibe! I didn't even really notice the mustache on Pedro, lol. I was foccused more on Ben and especially Sue; Vanessa Kirby seems to have nailed it, and I'd previously thought her casting was off. Very on point portrayal! Yeah, again I'm really digging the retro and retro futurism look to this. If someone can do this for the 70s, my head will literally explode.

I agree that Pedro just isn't Mr. Fantastic, and can't see how Downey is supposed to be Doom. I would no more cast him in that role than I would have Pacino or Eastwood (in their prime) play, say for example, Dr. Strange. Acting ability and range aside, some actors are just not the right fit for some characters. This isn't some slam against them or a sideswipe at Pascal.

Not sure why they had to change the Baxter Building so much but it does look good. Nevertheless I thought it was odd that we get to see the others use their powers, but not Reed. Of course, this is just a quick clip; I'm sure there will be more of him later just as I can just as we may see more of the Thing.

I'll be there for it (because I'm there for any MCU stuff) but the only things that bothered me were that the Thing looked a little too CGI (but they may clean that up some before release) and that I'm still not sold on Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards. Could be because I feel they had the perfect casting with John Krasinski but that's just me. Vanessa Kirby will be awesome as Sue Storm/Richards though.

Looks good, overall, but I really hope Thing's CGI is going to get more polish than that. Currently, it's looking very low budget.

I loved this, everything was super great to me here, except for Ben's voice being totally wrong IMO, but loved the retro vibe, loved the casting...I mean Pedro could lose the facial hair but Whatever, and Oh my Galactus!

I'm very excited for this film.

Solid first trailer with a very specific vibe that I am digging. The design for The Thing, the costumes, the set design, the pace of speech - it all feels very promising, special even.  The main cast looks pretty close to my mind's eye versions of the characters, but I know everyone has their own thoughts about that. Not sure why folks are griping about Pedro's stache  (might not be how the character was drawn, but it doesn't look wrong - these are filmmaker choices, not ours, so they are not worth getting worked up about). Marvel has had some misses for sure, but given how many films and TV shows they have created with their inter-connected universe and how many of them knocked it out of the park, it is foolish to bet against them.  Marvel knows they need  some magic, and I think they got it here. None of us know what the story will be yet, none of us know if Downey's Doom will work or not, but looking for something to be wrong is just exhausting... how 'bout we just get excited about the fact that we have a new Fantastic Four film in the MCU!

Good trailer, looking forward to this.  What's crazy is the cast was in town today to debut the trailer at the Space & Rocket Center (Huntsville, AL -- Hometown of MCU Nick Fury!) so people keep sending in pics of them around town to the news station I work at.  Kinda tempted to post a particular Pedro at Starbucks picture, but that would get me in some hot water if anyone cared enough to take notice.
