I have been saying this for years, no figure should be stuck on some yelling head, or tongue out head, or mouth a gape head, and not come with a neutral head, things like Thunderstrike and Gwenpool, and the Caliban wave Beast, *face palm* The Hood, have bugged me to no end. I think obviously every Legend would just benefit from 2 head options, but that's no reasonable of course budget wise, but it's a no no to me to give a character one head and it's got them screaming.

Yeah, it's one of the reasons I never picked up Thunderstrike. I would always be shouting at his teammates

Yeah it took me a really long time to cave and buy that Thunderstrike for that reason, I mean I eventually did, well actually got it for a christmas gift, but I really had a hard time with it, and still do, if I had a crystal ball I would have just waited and got the Masterson as Thor figure and skipped Thunderstrike entirely. Gwenpool also offends me to know end with those dumb head sculpts, it was a high demand figure for me, everything else about it was excellent, but only two silly expression heads and no neutral one still erks me.

And there's the figure who SHOULD have a screaming head but doesn't, like Siryn. I mean seriously.....what IS that??

Oh absolutely, thats another great offense, almost didn't even think about the opposite, I mean if your powers are screaming then why would you not come with something that I.E. a head, that reflects your powers? but then again things like the fact Blizzard didn't come with one effect piece to represent his powers are beyond me, or Avalanche, why didn't the Ch'od figure come with his signature big Blaster?,Songbird?, or a Deadpool without any guns? (Sasquatch wave)

that's like a Stilt Man with no Stilts....

we gotta wonder sometimes what's going on over there.

  • 3 weeks later...

I went to my local Target at 8:15 a.m. this morning hoping to grab Warbird and 3-4 different DC Multiverse figures that were all street dated for today, but they had nothing. The only thing new that wasn't there last week was a case of Hot Claws Wolverine from the Bonebreaker wave (why??). (I know why, of course. It's actually pretty smart if the movie figures aren't going to be immediately available).

I tried to order online as soon I got home and no longer available for shipping. It shows the store that I was just at has "limited stock" and "pickup orders not available." So frustrating. I guess that this is just the world that we're going to be living in again for a bit now that the production pendulum has swung so far back the other way to underproduction after years of extreme overproduction. I'd really like this figure but not enough to pay twice retail scalper prices for it (knowing that I'm probably already going to have to do exactly that for Death's Head in a week or so). I'll stop back at that store later today and hope that I have better luck. Otherwise, I'm just going to have to hope that it gets reissued or more stock becomes available.

Update: I went back 3 hours later and still no Warbird or DC Multiverse (Rookie/Bloom, Fire, Metallo) but they had put a case of Astonishing Wolverine out that wasn't there earlier in the day. I chose to pass.

Update 2: Since my 8:15 and 11:00 am trips were unsuccessful, I decided to stop by one more time today while I was out running errands around 3 pm. All six Astonishing Wolverines that I had seen at 11 were already gone along with 3 of the 6 Hot Claws Wolverines that I had seen earlier in the day. Still no Carol or any of the 3 DC Multiverse figures that were street dated for today.

Love how they buried this on their site. If I don't use this link, I can't even find it. I'd really like to see this in hand before I pull the trigger. That size comparison turned me away, but looking at my TB version it really isn't even close to holding up. The head is huge, and the face sculpt is horrible. Along with the TB weird shoulders. So, part of me really wants this. Still on the fence.

Yeah this is a tough one. That TB one is rough but the Target Exclusive from years back was not too bad and it used the awesome Moonstone body model. And it matched the body type of the Captain Marvel figure. The only problem is the lack of double jointed elbows. As far as this one I'm so glad a lot of reviewers got ahold of this before I purchased it because I was getting some serious FOMO for missing the first round of sales. But after watching the reviews I have to say I'm not too upset anymore. This one is way too short. The shoulders are far too narrow making her look much more slight than a powerhouse like Carol is supposed to be. Even smaller than the Super Articulated Black Widow. The TB version was a mess but that was some time ago and that's to be expected. But this is a mess in a different way. As in a mess of inaccuracy and inconsistency with the character and previous figures. I was fortunate to get ahold of one of the Target sets but not everyone did. So if this is the only option it still kind of stinks because at this time as much as the action figure game has progressed it would have been nice if they got it right.

She was easily searchable before. I think that they made her non-searchable once she went out of stock again this morning. I can only find her with the direct link now also.

Preordered Warbird for shipping just after 11pm PST on the 20th. The next day my order was listed as backordered with an estimated ship date of August 5th. Changed to expected to ship soon but then back to being backordered. This morning changed to preparing to ship with a shipping label created. Holding my breath until it's actually in transit. This shouldn't be that difficult.

Dang it! Missed it again! Out of stock again...

I had signed up for an alert through Target.com for when it was available again but of course didn't get anything. I'd really like to have this figure, but not going to jump through hoops or pay scalper prices for it. I will just have to hope that it gets wider release or reissued at some point. In my opinion this looks to easily be the best Carol figure they've ever done in any costume, and it just happens to be my favorite costume for her.

This is ridiculous.  I'm set up for Target to let me know when it's in stock, no notification whatsoever.  Guess I should be happy with the older version, cause catching up to this thing is a fulltime job.

I've found the notification things doesn't really work anymore either on stuff.

Why they keep making some of the years most wanted figures store exclusives is mind boggling.

Because Hasbro and the retailers know that key exclusives are collecting choke-points.  The whole goal is for retailers to get customers in their stores and for Hasbro to get orders from those retailers.

If the retailer thinks they can sell the toy, they place the threshold order ( or better) with Hasbro--and the key is that character.  We are a proven captive audiences and suckers for this kind of thing.  It will not change anytime soon.  😞

But here's the thing.......make enough noise about this, and Hasbro will make the figure again---probably with small changes, maybe a different portrait.  Because, again, they KNOW they have a captive buying audience.

I mean, I guess he's ok, but is he better (or better enough) than this guy to make me want to upgrade?

Man, I kinda miss variant figures...

Speaking of this Wolverine, that original sculpt was great and actually more muscular than the end figure, although its still shocking how did they end with idea of cutting his belt in half and saying this was okay, it's gotta one of the dumbest design decision in Marvel legends history if not action figure history.

Toybiz always had amazing prototypes but their end products even if good could never match the original proto, it was almost on the verge of false advertising like loose collector figs are today, in this regard Hasbro is doing better because their figs mostly match the advertising.
