No More X-Men 97 Marvel Legends Figures This Year According To Hasbro, But Worry Not True Believers

Hasbro's Dan Yun has confirmed that they will not be releasing any more waves of X-Men 97 Marvel Legends figures in 2024.

Hasbro already did two waves of Marvel Legends X-Men 97 figures this year which were planned out well before anyone knew just how successful this new Disney+ series was going to be. So no one should really be surprised more waves aren't coming this year. However these X-Men 97 figures are a wet dream for Hasbro being they can release a steady mixture of re-issues of X-Men figures they've already done that will appear in the show along with mixing in new characters and updated sculpts. X-Men figures have always been popular among Marvel Legends collectors and the fact the show has been so widely praised by fans will only increase their passion for X-Men driven figures. My guess is we will see 3-4 waves released next year and almost any X-Men character Hasbro has previously done like Beast, Professor X, Bastion will get new releases sooner or later. The question with these figures really isn't IF but When.

Yeah not really that surprised we won't get another wave, more then 2 waves for one theme seems like a lot for 1 year, but I was really looking forward to a Professor X, and I'm really hoping that is coming at some point, that and a Deathbird, are the only two characters I'd hope they put out, but that's hoping I can make believe they are comic.

I would assume wave 3 near Xmas but they couldn't know for sure how well received show would be, and considering all the planing in advance and how lukewarm most Marvel project tend to be now they wouldn't want to risk such big commitment, so it makes a lot of sense. And yes Magneto in speedo is must for upcoming wave.

Hells bells, what is with the speedo Magneto? I would just love to see Wolverine & Rogue rereleased so I don't have to spend a fortune getting them, as well as Lab Coat Beast. The black outfit Jubilee, which was an odd BAF, would be a great rerelease as well.

Who knows what the second season will bring. Especially with the showrunner having been fired. He did a darn good job with this one. Without him I'm foreseeing it being turned into the same old Disney type garbage.

What would be great is if we could and appearance and maybe some figures of Marrow and Shard.

I think it's pretty easy to say that Beau De Mayo did an excellent job with this show, and unfortunately it may very well be possible that things get worse after the second season (word is that two seasons were finished before his unfortunate departure).
However, I foresee (as in I am only making an educated guess) that there will be an announcement soon, perhaps in San Diego this July, that Charley Feldman will be the new showrunner. She's been the supervising producer and wrote/cowrote four episodes (so far) this season. I think Charley would continue to take this show in essentially the same direction, and she's the most logical candidate to take over.

I'm just glad to hear that they're working on 2025 and 2026 releases! I wasn't going to be shocked if Hasbro surrendered the license due to falling sales and profits.

I'd definitely be down for a Deathbird figure. I'm also probably the only one, but I'd definitely buy a 5-pack of Robert Kelly, Bolivar Trask, Valerie Cooper, Trish Tilby and Henry Gyrich! Valerie Cooper especially has been a big want for me for a long time. I'd love to retire my kit-bashed stand-in.

Otherwise I'm not someone who necessarily wants them to re-release EVERYBODY. I bought everybody in the first 2 waves except the 2nd Magneto, but I probably personally would have been happy to just get Goblin Queen and X-Cutioner and call it good. Buying the others was just pure FOMO. I already had perfectly good versions of all of the other characters that I was happy with.

Whether she is for 97 or a comic version, Deathbird is way overdue.

I find myself torn on these waves. While I'm not compelled to collect the entirety of each wave, there's not denying that these are some great looking figures from some amazing source material. The only ones I've picked up are Wolverine and Cyclops. I'm on the fence with Jean Grey. Even still, I'm debating if they'll replace my love triangle versions of these characters... I will say what an excellent problem to have!

I feel like we will definitely get more next year and Professor X seems like a safe bet. Deathbird is far more appealing to me, so hopefully we'll get her as well.

Prof X is said to be coming this year and by the sounds of it, it will be the Warlord version.

I remember a lot of people thought it was going to be the jumpsuit version originally.

It could be either, but given that they are doing characters from Uncanny #275 Warlord seems to make the most sense, also it will go well with Lilandra. Personally I want the costume jumpsuit
