The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Ralph Ineson has secured the coveted role of Galactus, the villain in Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four.

Deadline has announced that John Malkovich will be joining the cast of The Fantastic Four. Details regarding Malkovich's character are being kept confidential at this time.

Rumor has it that Marvel has made an intriguing creative decision by setting the story in the 1960s, the same era when the iconic super-team was originally introduced.

The current lineup includes Pedro Pascal portraying scientist Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the fiery brother Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richards’ friend struggling with body issues, Ben Grimm/The Thing. Additionally, Julia Garner has been cast as a female Silver Surfer and Paul Walter Hauser in a mysterious role, with speculations suggesting it could be Mole Man or the robot H.E.R.B.I.E.

The screenplay for the new Fantastic Four film, directed by Matt Shakman, has been written by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer.  Additionally, Peter Cameron has contributed to the writing of this project.

Ooo Malkovich as the Red Ghost! Or the Puppet Master. Probably neither, but it'd be cool. Being in the 60s the Soviet villain could be a thing though.

It could literally be a race to the moon.  Red Ghost/Super Apes vs the FF on a mission to the moon where Galactus has landed before coming to Earth( or maybe it's to snag the Ultimate Nullifier to use against him).  Therein, the Watcher's home--the Blue Area of the Moon is revealed.  it all then switches locations to NYC, as Galactus decides to bring it all down at the Baxter Building and eat the Earth.   Calamity ensues--thrills and cosmic chills.  All this, and the Silver Surfers too.

And once thwarted........Galactus wipes everyone's mind on Earth--erasing all memories of what transpired, and then a mysterious assailant flings the FF into the future to bring the World-Eaters cosmic tech to...........Doctor Doom.

Yeah.  I'd watch that.

I'm sorry but just imagined Malkovich playing Dr. Doom and I started laughing. It would be the worst and yet greatest thing ever

But he'd be great as the Red Ghost or even the Mole man. 😉

That'd be interesting. Pretty good guesses, hopefully he's playing one of these characters, although it'd be funny if he's in it for something completely different. Like HERBIE or something, lol.

John Malkovich would be a good Wizard IMO, that's the role I feel might best suit him

it's not a rumor if both THR and Variety are reporting that he's been cast in the role and Ineson himself is tweeting about it.

Really? I'd say more like Red Ghost or maybe even Puppet Master 😀

Interesting that they would announce Galactus this early on but I guess it was almost a given seeing as they have their Silver Surfer. I've always had faith in the MCU's casting choices and I'm feeling the same way about the Fantastic Four. I'm excited to see Galactus done right!

Ralph Ineson as Galactus....Very, very interesting! I'm really, really eager to see where they go with his design. In fact ever since MCU was a thing, the matter of how they'd do a Live-Action Galactus has always been a major curiosity for me. And really, after the Space Cloud, there's no way they can get this wrong now in my mind.

If they can do a Celestial and make it work..........they can do Galactus, imo.  That was the litmus test.

Sure both of those would work as well, Wizard just came to mind first, Wizard is kinda a more big deal to the world of FF then the 2 you mentioned, which is why I thought it

Oh really, well then I guess it's more then a rumour

honestly at this point seems like they might be doing too much with this movie, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Doom, some maybe other villains like Mole Man etc, they don't need to pack this film full of everything on the first outing, but whatever. I would have saved Galactus for a sequel if I was the one calling the shots.

Goddamn, this is a crazy good cast. Loved her in Poker Face.

Shaking my head at this ridiculous change for the Silver Surfer. Not sure how they're going to set this in the 60s, and have it be part of their already established universe in which clearly there was no Fantastic Four....unless this is going to be some alternate, parallel world thing.

Hmmmm....

Although its good that they didn't go with Patton Oswalt or Kevin Hart for the voice for Galactus. Either of them would have been an equally bad choice.  I was really concerned for a moment there.
