Gun belongs to Kang, yeah, Why do we need a new Kang? we just got one and it's great, Too much Re-Doing here lately Hasbro, Love to see some new characters but a lot of Re-do's are getting boring, when there are so many characters we need.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. As collectors we all know that re-dos are part of the game to keep a line going, but the ratio is way off. This is especially true now that the newly redone figures have started to cost multiples of what the original versions cost when they came out.

Yeah it's just like now I'm really looking at that Bloodstorm, like we didn't really need that, it's just a fancy update of the Apocalypse wave Storm, and As much as I love Moon Knight, we already have 2 that were just re-released within the year, Voodoo? he was a pegwarmer back when, plus we got already had 2 of this look for him.

New looks for characters we have are one thing, but too much of the same characters is just feeling tired honestly, most of what we have gotten this year has been re-dos, or more of the same characters, if you look at it just seems uninspired, I want new, sure we get some new, I.E. Lilith (which is crazy), Hellstorm, and it's obviously lovely to see a new Blackheart, but that's different since the last one was Toybiz.

"....Speaking of things thought never to be released where kids would see them: Hellstorm with a pentagram! So a symbol of the devil is ok but Moondragon's skimpy suit is too much? Look, im realy not complaining, just seems absurd on what is deemed to be crossing the line...."

I hear you, I really do. Not only on the "crossing the line" thing but even why there's a "line" at all. If it was in the comics, then any figure from those comics should match them. If Iron Fist has a dragon brand on his chest, then the Son of Satan should have the brand he had. Is anyone seriously thinking that a symbol on a figure means hasbo endorses whatever that symbol supposedly means?  If so then someone please tell me what the Prowler's symbol means (seriously. He's been out since 1969 and I've never understood what that thing is. Is it a skull? An octopus of some kind? A gardening tool? A molar??) LOL.

Seriously though I don't know why anyone would object to Moondragon's classic outfit, not when the team did Angela's figure some years back. Sold in fine stores everywhere back then.

Oh I did just notice that Hasbro did indeed include the Pentagram on Hellstorm's chest, well well, Looks like that should end the rumours of no devilish things from Hasbro, I at first thought they omitted the Pentagram because of how light it is, but it's there.

I agree really if the character exists in the comics looking whatever way they looked, they are there in the comics looking that way, so whatevers the difference between a drawing kids can see and an action figure?, so there should be no line, just make it accurate, stop acting like someone is going to be offended, because for say Moon Dragon and her skimpy skimps, no Mother or Uncle is even going to think of buying that figure for their Child, there Child doesn't give a hoot who Moon Dragon is, you most certainly looking at the Marvel Legends section at Target for yer kids because they want Spider-Man or Hulk etc, not Random Rando who only die hard nerds know.

But now that we have a pentagram on a figure looks like the doors are open, let's hope anyways.

That Odin is pretty impressive. I was fine with that last one but the new one looks great. Armored Dracula is surprisingly cool, too. I'll be getting those and probably Hellstrom. Maybe Lilith. Her forehead looks kind of freaky though. I'll need to see some close ups first.

Easily most excited for Lilith, one of my favorite underrated characters.  Never thought we'd get a Legend of her.  I was halfway to making a custom of her, which is... not my forte.  I'd much rather the pros do the work.

Yeah Honestly Lilith is my favourite reveal here, so just floored that we ever got her, she was such a beloved character for me in the 90's reading Ghost Rider, I infact to this day have a Llith Poster on my wall.

Dracula is a close second, and Blackheart, but I still didn't even hate my Blackheart Toybiz figure, it was pretty good still, despite it never standing.

Wow  look at that new packaging. Wider and deeper, looks like more plastic. Which is weird because just under two years ago  they were all about  "doing our bit for the environment by having all our products being Plastic Free" (except they left out the retro line, but who's really counting that lol).

Yeah I noticed the packaging looks bigger. Probably an excuse to increase the price

The BAF wave is pretty cool. I'm passing on the two X characters, but it is nice to see new characters, and good updates. That ODIN is pretty fantastic! Kinda bummed on the Destiny two pack. But since I am not totally in love with that character to begin with, that one is saving me some dollars.

Phoenix looks pretty rad too!

Hellstrom is the out and out winner for me!!!

Overall, I wasn't terribly excited for any of these announcements. The Odin is pretty dope, and I could see myself picking up the Phoenix, but I think that's it for me. I might pick up the Dracula just out of curiosity because it does look like a cool design, still on the fence for that on. That's not to say any of these figures are bad, just not any real must-haves for me. Can't wait to see what we'll see at SDCC. Now that the 85 year line has finished, will we get a new theme for the second half of the year?

Like most everyone else I was not really thinking we need another Kang right now but I just got the figure out and now I'm thinking maybe we do. His overall look has not changed or barely changed at all since his introduction so they can't really do much in that aspect. But they can improve on his articulation and they can make him bigger because the last one was on the small side. Especially for someone wearing armor. That's something they've improved on with the Iron Man figures. They can give him a better head sculpt. And seeing as how they are getting such a positive response for all these redone characters with soft goods I might think they do something in that direction. Maybe with his tunic type thing. Or maybe they'll go with his older caped look. And maybe with a more traditional head sculpt. He's never been one of my major wants as a figure so I probably wouldn't partake in a Deluxe Kang figure but I'm betting plenty of people will.

You hit the nail on the head there. Of the 8 figures they chose for the wave, 5 of them are re-dos; the special super duper deluxe is also a re-do, just on a massive and incorrect scale. It's also weird that they chose a "horror" theme wave (I'm guessing these would ship in October?) without hitting any of their classic Marvel Monsters (and no, pony tail Drac don't cut it). And how many times is the team gonna mention or refer to Mephisto, but still not do that figure? It's just silly, at this point.

This isn't a terrible wave, no. But could be better. Maybe swap out this guy for Classic Brother Voodoo, Simon Garth Zombie for Hellstrom. Tomb of Dracula instead. Swap Moon Knight for Living Mummy, Satana for Bloodstorm,  Werewolf by Night for Hellverine. Frankenstein's Monster for the BAF.

As someone who does not have his figures displayed in an enclosed air tight space, soft goods are problematic for me. They are incredible dust magnets. There are times when soft goods make sense, but as a general rule I'm not really a fan. I also don't really like to mix and match figures with and without soft goods in my display.

YES!!!! I wrote damn near the same thing on another post about Marvel Monsters!  It is not a bad wave, but damn I was hoping we would get Marvel Monsters this year when I heard about a Strange Tales wave. I am still fully convinced Hasbro will redo the Marvel Monsters Boxed and Classic X-Men Boxed sets (or at least all of those characters individually) as they have redone nearly everything else Toybiz ever produced.

Since i only collect X-men figures now, I'm very excited about the Rogue/Destiny two pack. Long overdue on Destiny and a nice round out to the second generation of the Brotherhood.  I always liked that Rogue costume and her early appearances by Paul Smith.

I might break down and get the Phoenix figure but I'm pretty happy with the head sculpt from the TRU TWO pack from years ago. This figure looks a tad to thick for my liking but the Phoenix base is really a nice addition.

I'm not even sure who Hellverine is and Bloodstorm is a pass so I'll be saving a bit of cash on those. The rest of the STRANGE Tales figures look great.

I am curious when we will be rounding out the X-men Outback team and the Starjammers. I'm still waiting on my Armoured Betsy figure. I expect her in some sort of two pack or three pack eventually.

Well you know I've been crowing for a deluxe box set of Marvel Monsters forever. Premium all-new sculpts, accessories like coffins, sarcophagus (ok those were usually reserved for royalty BUT N'Kantu was a king, just not an Egyptian one), chains, maybe even a fiendish lab table for Frankenstein's monster to rise from. They really have all the source material they would ever need. That thing will sell out in minutes.

Fun fact: There was a version of Bloodstorm that not only appeared in the 616 Universe but also joined 2 teams of X-men, the All-New Team (Time-displaced X-men) and the X-men Blue team. So like Dark Beast and a few more, you can display her as a separate character to regular Storm. (Yes, you can still use it as Mutant X version, just giving people options.)

ABSOLUTELY! I would argue the best of Marvel came out in the 1960's and 1970's, so any good legends from that time period will always be instant purchases. But yeah, the Marvel Monsters...I hope they get a redo, but I hope it is a worthy redo like you are suggesting.

Totally agree my friend. 4 out of 7 are major disappointments. Hellvorine was not only not asked for but its ridiculous since inception. But I understand we needed at least one flagship character in the wave. I was kind of hoping Bloodstorm would at least have newer legs but it is simply a new head sculpt on the depowered Storm figure with the same toothpick legs and wobbly knees. I just love I when the box art shows something amazing yet the product is completely different. Moon Knight. Ahhh poor Moon Knight. Will he ever get the Vulcan mold treatment? Three straight figures on that infernal Sunfire model. I guess at least they're consistent. But it's consistently wrong. I'm not too beat up about Bro V because at least they updated the body model. Helstrom, Lilith and Dracula are all welcome yet unnecessary additions to my collection. But Blackheart is the piece de resistance. They got me. I'm buying 4 figs I don't want and 3 I actually could have done without completely to build the one I want. OMG. I hate it but isn't that the entire point of the BAF? To entice you into buying the entire set. You can hate Hasbro but you can't hate the game. Which does beg the question what is up with decisions like the Mindless One? A Flipping army builder as a BAF. For a wave where there really is no reason to purchase more than one figure accept the Fist . That's why I think the Mindless One BAF should have been Bullet. At least that would have been a New York based villain to match the rest of the wave.

Yes, the flashy bright shiny "newness" of the reveal of the wave is wearing off, and people are re-thinking. A number of you here and noticed the majority of these choices are re-dos in one form or another. It's frustrating because they're saying this is the end of the 85th Anniversary run, but they didn't bother to capitalize on just what Marvel's 85 years of characters has to offer. Why not look at the characters that actually started that 85 year journey? Blazing Skull, Destroyer, Miss America, Red Raven? And you can still do your re-do with first appearance Captain America. Redeem that awful Bucky from years back.

1950s- Marvel Boy, Human Robot, Namora, 3-D Man?

1960s- the original Guardians of the Galaxy came out, so maybe knock a few more figures and finish that team off? They have so many choices.....Red Wolf, Cobalt Man, Firebrand, Crimson Dynamo, Vanguard, Mantis.

Just a thought....

Man, a lot of really cool figures that I will probably never pick up. I appreciate that we're getting some figures never before seen in the legends line, but many of them are a bit to obscure for my collection. I'm hopeful that the introduction of this Daimon Helstrom means there's still hope of Mephisto. I am tempted to pick up Blackheart, but I don't see myself picking up the whole wave anytime soon.
