oh that packaging is on fire....pun intend...and I hate puns.

Also I was right about the price. They are treating it like a 2-pack.

I'm still holding out hope for a deluxe figure, FalCap/Angel, 35 bucks. But I'm usually wrong, and you are usually right lol. And yeah, seeing the "Jean Grey-Phoenix Force" on the pack is worrying for my hopes.

Ooof. Obviously I hadn't seen that. Gotta say, that's a lot.

I’m all about that base .

Agreed! I've been using the Marvel Select Phoenix Force base (pic below) for years but this looks like an upgrade. Right now this is my front runner for figure of the year, but need to have it in hand first of course before making that type of proclamation.

Nice try, but the comics have very definitively stated that Jean is the Phoenix and the Phoenix is Jean. Not a 2 pack.

then you haven't read comic. Phoenix or the Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity of rebirth. It's originally REPLACED (Not processed) Jean but creating a separate body for her. It would be until much much later that Jean returned and even later bond with the Phoenix

Wow! Nice abs. Jean looks absolutely ripped. This model seems to be an improvement on the Ms. Marvel one and the face portrait looks much better than in previous shots but it still doesn't fit Jean. Girl's been doing some serious crossfit. And I agree with you @spoooky.

Charging standard figure price for a stand with little to zero articulation is absolutely absurd no matter how hard people try to justify it. This is pretty much the same case as when they were trying to pass off that Howard the Duck and Scott Lang as a 2 pack from the Khonshu Wave. But at least that was regular price. This is a $35 set at best. And I'd bet a shiny silver dollar the majority concurs. I know some people are sure to bite. It is a beautiful figure to be sure. I guarantee this is Hasbro testing the waters just to see how far they can push us. Between this one and that Destiny & Rogue set I hope we all band together and let them know we aren't going to stand for this kind of gouging. And I know some people are going to immediately strike at me with the old "if you don't like it don't buy it" cliche. But don't bother because I assure you I won't and I stand by my statement. I'll just leave it right here and I'm not looking for a debate because I don't want to be accused of taking the thread off topic. I know gouging when I see it and this is indeed gouging. This is ridiculous but I can honestly say I wasn't a bit surprised when they revealed the price tag. Keep saving me money Hasbro. This has been the best savings account I've had in years.

I'm with you. To go a step further, continuing to overpay for under-performance- for ANY product or service- just encourages more laziness, more shoddy attention to detail across the line. Let's hope that they go to your price instead.

It's good that they're finally improving the classic, green suit Phoenix. I think they did a great job on the Dark Phoenix figures and while that color scheme is my fave, we absolutely must have the original too. But if you take the Juggernaut wave Phoenix next to the Dark Phoenix, aside from the caboose, it just looks sick, ridiculous. That came out what, almost 10 years ago? Seriously its taken them that long. So yes, this would be a very welcome addition.

But then hasbo just had to HASBLO, didn't they? The improved abs on the figure are great, the face portrait....ehhh. That's Jean Grey? The improved articulation is boffo! But why just paint on the gloves and boots??  That's a cheap move. I'll say it again, the DC figures that have these boots just make a better effort. At any rate, I've only seen these "front facing" pics so I'll reserve further comment till we get more.

RAD.  $50 was definitely more than I was hoping to spend for this, $25 for a base just seems wild.  Maybe it's a mistake on Hasbro's part, or maybe it's a mistake on BB and EE, but BB honored the lower price for me on those $35 G.I. Joe 60th anniv. generic soldiers when they initially listed them at $25, so that's good enough reason for me to put an order in with them.

BBTS has updated the price to $50. They even went back and retroactively changed the price on my order... 😑

Wow, that's a change from my past experience. In the past they've always honored what I pre-ordered at. I remember specifically from those GI Joe Classified Anniversary figures as an example. BBTS only charged me standard price for a normal Classified figure which is what I pre-ordered them at, even though it was always supposed to be higher and they corrected it on their site shortly later. My final charge was the lower price that I pre-ordered at. The price has already changed on Phoenix to the correct price before I got around to ordering today.

McFarlane Toy Store did the same thing when they accidentally listed a DC Multiverse Page Puncher bundle for half what it was supposed to be, they still honored the price that I placed the order for.

How does that work for Hasbro? Nobody is buying an effect for 50 bucks, and nobody is rushing to replace their Phoenix, do they know already this will peg till clearance? It's the same price as Ghost Rider, that one has a bike, with wheels, and also cool fire effects.

50 is too much for this, bottom line.

Worst part is Jean usually sells well and goes up in value too. So this will probably sell out. (Still mad I passed on the Dark Phoenix 2 pack that now goes for 500 bucks.) If this was a figure for a character, like Rachael, that we haven't gotten before I would be in a tougher spot. But I'm not getting this unless it goes down in price. I waited until Prime day to get Zemo and Zola. Reason being that Zola was a 12 yr old figure that was slightly repainted. Even though Zemo is one of my favorite "must have" figures I couldn't do it for 50.

So what I wonder is what gonna happen to people who ordered for 35, will they get updated price? some email  and cancellation or BBTS will honor the price? could it be it was some sort of early bird price?

I sincerely doubt that.  I feel like they would advertise something like that.  I'm betting it's just an honest mistake.  Like I said, they've done it before and honored the originally listed price in the past, so... I guess we'll see around the release date.
