The more I look at this armor, the more I wish Marvel hadn't gone overboard with the MK 50 in Infinity War, only to course-correct at the final second with the MK 85 for Endgame, and that instead this had been the design of the MK 50, and that it had been used in both movies.

It's really the best of both worlds.

Honestly I used to feel like that, but I think I've kind of reversed since - now I feel like, even though the Mark 85 has some of the most classic broad-strokes color layout of any MCU Iron Man armor, it's somewhat at odds with the abstract wiggly detail all over it, while the Mark 50 has a color layout that makes more sense with that kind of design language.  The Mark 50 almost feels more... coherent?  Iunno.  This Disney Parks armor also has somewhat of the same problem I feel the Mark 85 has.

I like the MK 50, but my biggest issues with it is that it goes a bit overboard with the organic line-heavy design language. Plus, it commits what I think is one of the cardinal sins of Iron Man designs, which is featuring not enough gold for the Golden Avenger. Too little gold and too spread out.

I think the MK 80 strikes a better balance because the way the gold is distributed plays nicer with the flowiness of the design language. The combination of the red shoulders with the gold sides help guide the eyesight toward the torso and accentuate its V-shape. So it has enough gold to emphasize Iron Man's silhouette and give the eye some clear-cut areas where it can rest instead of getting lost in the sameness of ther red while also providing a complementary color, but it doesn't have too much gold it undermines the flowiness by making the areas of the armor too clear-cut.

Hmm... looking at the Mark 80 now I think I might agree with you more than I was previously.  After my first initial glance I was finding my eyes were kind of "sloughing off" the design the way they do when looking at the Mark 85, but looking at it again now I'm appreciating the design much more.  I think I was carrying over too many of my feelings about the Mark 85 due to 80's obvious design similarities, and not really looking at it as its own thing.
