My plan is to buy one on release and a 2nd when it inevitably hits clearance.  I need a 2nd head of this version to pop on my blue Quicksilver but like many of you, im not keen on paying full price just for the head.

That is a waste of money, to be sure. At the same time they surely are going to make a light blue version so I'd just wait for that if I were you.

Yes agreed, And I'm very certain another Quicksilver in blue is likely to come out at some point, and probably re-use this head, Even then I don't think I care enough about Quicksilver to update from the Family Matters pack, sure I wish it was a better head, but he's not that important for me to care, Honestly he's a figure I tend to forget I have.

Fantastic. That's one of the best male headsculpts they've done lately. I'm in the same boat of not caring overmuch about Quicksilver. Yes, I too was displeased about their using a Reed Richards face on the FM version, but that figure still looks nice enough in the background. This is one of those things where if I see it and there's nothing else pressing, I'll get it. Otherwise I'll wait for the inevitable blue suit release with this headsculpt.

It's a nicer head sculpt to be sure but man those pink lips really bother me. I like the printing but those lips have got to go. First it's not enough color on the faces no it's just a tad bit too much. Honestly I really don't think anyone would be too heartbroken if they just refrained from painting the male faces lips at all. If they could have kept the color scheme from the previous figure and put it on the new sculpt it would have been perfect. As far as the body style goes this is the spot for it. I so hate the way Hasbro uses the Sunfire mold as a utility filler for bodies they dont know how to place. But this is its spot. Thinner guys that should be in great shape. Guys like this. Guys like Shang Chi, Scarlet Spider and Tarantula. Even Pym who benefits from being in great shape to get maximum use out of his powers. But skinny guys like Pyro need a skinny body. Big muscular guys like Silver Surfer and Firelord need bigger bodies. It goes without saying. I guess Hasbro just needs a better R&D department that does some kind of research outside what is commonly understood to be little more than a standard search on Google Images. But this I have no issue with. Other than the botched color scheme.

But if they didn't paint male lips we would have never received this emo Bruce Banner masterpiece.

LOL. So I'm a huge fan of Stephen King. Well most of his stuff anyway. When I actually find time to read. But no spoilers. In the book Finders Keepers the main antagonist is male described as having these prominent pink lips almost like he's wearing a shade of pink lipstick. And while that's not that creepy in itself there are additional descriptors that paint a picture of the character as very creepy in that typical King fashion. But the pink lips are what sticks out to people the most. But the point is no matter who the character is, every time Hasbro does one of these characters like this my mind immediately reverts to that creepy image of the character from that book. I just can't get it out of my head. Maybe that's the primary reason I don't like the print but I honestly feel most people think it is a little much.

Well damn, that headswap looks so good i have no choice but to grab 2. There really is no way i can leave the blue suit with the original head. That side by side shows how off that one was.

Hmmm... I wonder how many Walmart will limit us to? I think they usually only let fans buy 2 during these events,  right?

Or at least until they go on clearance.
