Hasbro Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Figure Re-Issues Coming This Week?!?

Hasbro's Dan Yun has said that folks who missed out on some Marvel Legends Mutants likely will get another shot at them this week. He goes on to stay two X-Men 97 characters.

He doesn't give any more specifics or tell us when or where this week the figures will be available. Our sponsor Entertainment Earth does have a Hasbro pre-order listed for this Tuesday (9/24) but we can't verify at this time if those will be for Marvel Legends or not.

As to which two X-Men 97 figures Dan is referring to Rogue and Wolverine seem to be the most sought after figures from that sub-line but at this time we can't say for sure which ones he is referring to.

When more details become available we will be sure to let you know.

I'm not interested in this Venompool but wish I had sold my BAF parts before this was re-issued. I bought all of the first two waves of X-Men '97 except the 2nd Magneto. I'm hoping to sell off at least the Jean so I'm hoping that one doesn't get re-issued, yet at least.

I was really hoping someone would do a comparison of the Venompools just to see if there was any significant improvement but it seems it's mostly just a different paint job. I have the BAF and even though it really doesn't fit anywhere in my display it is fantastic. I do prefer the darker shades of the original but if you didn't get that one this is pretty darn good. Just a matter of taste. I actually feel like this mold could have served well as the base for the Strong Guy figure. Proportionally it looks like Guido than the actual Guido figure.

Will likely have to get this one since I never got the BAF (wasn’t super into al the symbiotes on that wave). Agree with the consensus that the darker red looks better, but I dig it regardless. Might be less bright in person too since sometimes photos/screens don’t translate the color the same as reality does.

In regard to the retro X-Men, I talked myself out of picking up the retro Wolverine because I have the cell shaded VHS one, and while not really being into the cell shading thing, it isn’t overbearing enough on Wolverine to hate it to the point of replacing it. That said, I may have a harder time passing it up this time around.

Why would they re-issue X-Men 97 figures, they feel like they just came out, and I see them everywhere, Didn't seem like they were hard to get, but I guess I'd be wrong, I mean Wolverine seems like the hardest to find but even then I've seen him even recently.

Ah well if this makes people happy cool cool

But I just wish they'd re-release things we really need, like a Hela, Dreadknight, Purple Man, Bor, Satana, the cool figures locked behind ancient box sets I can't have.

Some of them were very hard to get. Rogue was the rarest. And demand spiked after the show released.  They were due for a re-release.

Frankly, they should re-release them all (except maybe that dumb Magneto).  But Rogue coming back is great news for those us too afraid to touch the one we have because of how valuable it is.

By the way, Dan Yun all but confirmed it's Rogue and Wolverine.

Another massive downgrade. Of course animated figures are supposed to be different from the standard line but this Rogue looks super small compared to previous versions. Similar to how the Jean Gray figure turned out. And that face sculpt looks super plain and boring. Very 5" Toybiz Pre Legends-ish. At least from these pictures. Out of package may be a different story. Wolverine is Wolverine. It'll have it's fans but nothing really there to convince me to pick this up. These are just very niche and very specific to those who want the cartoon looking figures and in that case they did a very good job. Not my style but they're great for cartoon collectors.

Not surprised that either is getting re-released

I Initially was, but after doing some light research it seems indeed these figures are in high demand, and wherever they do have stock are being sold for insane prices, not sure what the excitement for the most plain jane Rogue ever was (guess it's just that it's the only rogue available or was in that iconic look), or it's a good Wolverine, but Like there is a new Wolverine every few months... but anyways good they are re-issuing these because apparently it's a huge want for people, I'm seeing people asking for it all around the internet.

they should have really just re-issued the Retro Rogue, and like Apocalypse Wolverine and people would have probably been even more pumped.

Honestly, in hand, I think I prefer '97.  I love the body on the Retro Rogue, but the head sculpt is off.  The simpler '97 head appeals to me.

Plus the green jacket offends me less than the brown jacket.  I know the brown jacket is the comic version, but I just hate jackets.

What about Canada? I'd like to get my hands on Wolverine unless I drive south of the border to Plattsburgh. I won't be able to get him if they're Target exclusive.

They are probably fan channel exclusives in Canada. Frankly, you might have an easier time getting him than those of us relying on Target.
