Hmn, not seeing all that much difference between this BAF and the older Toybiz single figure.  Sculpt is a  big different, but wot by much.  The major difference is price--you need to buy about...what, FIVE other figures to build this one,...........or you can go to Ebay and get the Toybiz figure for the price of a single figure today.  <wrinkles nose>  Hasbro should have found a way to plus this figure somehow.

I gotta say this figure in someone's hand and being reviewed has changed my enthusiasm for it a bit, I don't think this figure is necessarily that much better then the previous Toybiz iteration, which was a pretty good figure and held it's own even today, I mean this is a good modern update, I just think it could have been bigger and had more bulk,  seems like some paint hits and a bit of a wash could have brought this figure to life as well, it just seems very simple in the end, don't get me wrong I'm still very happy to update my Toybiz figure (who can't even stand on his own), but I feel like I expected more from this one. I'll see how I feel when I have it in hand next week.

Don't let anyone fool themselves into thinking this thing is not superior to the Toybiz version. I've heard a lot of talk about how this is not necessary and if you have the first one it is just fine. Similar to ridiculous claims made about the Blob figure. And of course everyone has their own tastes but I'm telling you now that is just not the case in either instance. This is good. Is it everything it could have been or should have been? Of course not. Rarely is that the case in ML as a whole. The one place where TB still outshines everything Hasbro does is the paint and deco but once you come to the sad realization that Hasbro hates paint the one thing TB has left in it's chamber is gone. I will still continue to believe TB was great during it's time and it was the innovator and action figures world would not be where it is today with out their contribution but the notion that anything TB did back then can stand up to anything Hasbro is doing today is just laughable. I'm no cheerleader for Hasbro to be sure. I can leave that up to a lot of other people but truth is truth. And believe me the understanding that we pay much more for the product than we did back then does not escape me. There is still some beautiful work out there by TB but when Hasbro puts it into work to redo and outdo anything previously done by TB it is about a 95 percent success rate. With very few exceptions.

Well I put this figure together, and actually looked hard at it and then really hard at the Toybiz one, is it better yes, however the one thing Toybiz was doing was the amazing paint, the Toybiz version has some better Aesthetics but overall yes the new figure is superior.

My problem is this figure doesn't seem to stand either! and that was my problem with the previous one, it couldn't stand without assistance

BlueComet how did you make this stand up?
