Couldn’t resist pre-ordered mine this morning, but wow they’re getting up there in price. I never grabbed a Marvel Legends Jubilee and this will mark the first Jubilee I have in my collection. Hopefully we will see beast, Arch Angel and Colossus to round out the team. We have Rogue coming with Ice Man not too far behind. I just need to track down a Jean Grey now!

Hopefully we will see a reissue of the yellow and tan Wolverine from Mafex soon!

With you there on the price. I pre-ordered this along with that MJ. My wallet's going to be sweatin'!

Which Jean Grey, the Phoenix or Jim Lee? If the Jim Lee version I think I picked mine up on Amazon for around $80 a few months back. If that's the one you're talking about hopefully it's still there for around that price.

Wow, the figure looks really nice! Though, if Mafex is going for a comic version look, her gloves should be blue. Her gloves were only yellow in the animated series, and when she was wearing a different costume as a member of Generation X.

They were actually yellow in the books for a short period before the switch to blue.

I looked back through my Uncanny X-Men and X-Men books from the late 80s to early 90s. You are correct, her gloves did appear as yellow for a short time with this costume. However, this seems to have been a colorization error. Here's what I found:

The character of Jubilee first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #244. She first appears in costume in issue #257. In that issue, her Gloves, , Shorts, and Shoes are Green. Her costume also appears the same in her next 2 appearances in issues #258 and #261. Then, strangely, in issue #268 her Gloves, Shorts, Shoes, and Shirt are all colored Red throughout the issue, indicating a colorization error by the artist(s) or printer. FInally, by issue #271 of Uncanny X-Men (publication date - Dec. 1990), her gloves were colored Blue. From that issue on, her gloves then appeared Blue in the Uncanny X-Men comics while she was wearing this costume. This didn't change until issue #4 of X-Men (publication date - Jan. 1992) when her glove(s) appeared yellow in a single panel of the issue. What's odd is that her hand was then flesh colored in one of the next panels, indicating another colorization error by the artist(s) or printer. Another thing to note; One of her gloves is visible on the cover of this same issue, and it is colored Blue.

Jubilee's gloves continued to be colored Yellow during her appearances in X-Men issues #5-10. However, by issue #11, her gloves were once again colorized as Blue. Strangely, in the last panel of the main story in issue #11, one of her gloves is colored Blue, while the other is colored Pink. Indicating, again, that during this time, there were regularly colorization issues with Jubilee's gloves. From issue #11 on, her gloves continued to appear as blue in the comics, until she adopted her Generation X costume.

So, technically, yes, her gloves were yellow briefly while wearing this costume, but it seems to have been a mistake, as her gloves had already been established as being Blue in color.

It's unfortunate that Mafex seems to have chosen to base this figure's costume on such an incredibly short run of issues that was most likely printed in error. This also makes me wonder if the entire reason why X-Men the animated series decided to go with Yellow gloves for Jubilee was based on those 3 or 4 issues of the X-Men comic series where her gloves appeared that way.

Wow that's a detailed digging!  Great job!👍👍👍

But I don't think the yellow gloves was a mistake. Just different artists have their preferences. Did those color patterns come from certain artists or colorists during different sequent issues?

I prefer the first appearance issue cuz they're original. Usually a new character was designed by its creators who run the issue before this character's firstly appearance. But most of other artist who draw this character later don't follow the details of the character design. When I checked with Rogue's first appearance looks, I noticed that each time she appeared the green costume was drew differently by different artists. Maybe there's no strict limit for Marvel's artists I guess
