Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. We are halfway through November, and you know what that means. It's time for our annual Best of Marvel Legend poll. This year has been a bit leaner than most, especially for MCU collectors, but that is mostly due to the delays of movies and the fact that Hasbro are lessening their products due to increasing costs. But what we have gotten has been amazing IMO.

If you are new to this, what we do is each week we go through a number of categories, and you get to vote for what is the best in that particular category. By the end of the 4 weeks, with the exception of a couple of categories, the winner of each will move onto the overall winner poll. Please Note, like always the Haslab will not be included in these polls. This is because I want to keep this to standard figure and those "readily" available.

So let's get started. Below you will find all of this week's categories. You don't have to vote for all of them but please vote for as many as you can. You have until Monday 12am GMT.

Best wave ASSORTMENT

For this poll I ask that you look at a wave, those of 6-7 figure, and decide which had the best Character Selection, Value for money and for the BAF waves, whether it was worth getting the whole wave for.  https://poll.fm/14671114

Best Packaging Designs

Next, for you people that love packaging artwork and design, you get to vote for the best design. For this I have pick unique box designs that debuted THIS year. That means there will not be any of the Spider-verse, Iron Man retro, Animated series etc as they all were created in previous years. As for the Standard design, these are the new box designs that Hasbro has released for all their lines. These include the Wolverine Anniversary, The 85th anniversary line, the Phoenix deluxe, the Punisher and Bushwacker, the Strange tales wave, etc. etc. https://poll.fm/14671391

Best Build-a-Figure

Our first category where the winner moves onto the finals, we have the best Build a figure. As always, i want you to decide this best on the sculpt, articulation, character choice AND whether it was worth getting all the figure needed to build this. Thankfully there is only 3 this year so it might be an easy one to decide.  https://poll.fm/14671499

Best Deluxe set

Here you can vote for the best Deluxe set. These are set that are either Larger than standard figure or come with a load of accessories, vehicle or a stand of sort. These DO NOT include 2-packs or more. Like the BAFs, I want you to pick base on sculpt, articulation and if it was worth the price of a deluxe set.  https://poll.fm/14671519

For me it was:

Wave - Strange Tales

Packaging design - Secret Wars

BAF (which despite being the small was the hardest to decide) - Blackheart

Deluxe - Odin

Posted

Wave - Zabu wave - it had the most figures I wanted out of any wave, and a BAF I wanted so, I feel it was the best

Packaging - Death's Head - what a cool packaging, making a card a box, loved it.

BAF - The Void - hand's down the coolest BAF of the year, the sculpt, the clear red, it was amazing, how creepy he looks.

Deluxe - Dan Ketch Ghost Rider - I've been asking for Dan for so long, and this was done exactly how I would have hoped, it was hard though because we had some great big figures this year, Odin and Carnage were amazing, also Hulkbuster and Skaar, but Ultimately Dan had to get it for me.

What about the 85th anniversary stuff? I wanted to vote for Ms. Marvel/Warbird in some way.

Read. It. Again.

Packaging: Deadpool and Wolverine wave

That is just the standard box design done up in D+W colors so you can vote for that.

Packaging Design: Outriders

Unfortunately, the Outsiders fall under Hasbro's army builder set which were done in previous years so they don't count.

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. The results of the first part of our Annual Best of Marvel Legends are here! As always, I would like to thank all who took the time to vote. I know some of these were hard to decide, especially going by the way the numbers went over the few days. But enough about that. Here are the winners of the first part of this year's Best of Marvel Legends.

Best Wave Assortment

Winner with 25.00%: Strange Tales Blackheart Wave

strangetales.jpg?w=225

This one was really close. So close, I had to use my tie-breaking privilege to declare a winner. But with 25% of the vote we have the Strange Tales Blackheart wave. This wave was amazing. Obscure characters, remakes that trump others and an amazing BAF. Taking second place, we have the X-men '97 with 23.21%, followed by The Zabu wave with 14.29%. Next with a tie (10.71%) was the Secret Wars wave and the Iron Man retro wave. Bringing up the rear with 5.36%, we have the Spider-verse wave 3, Spider-man retro wave and The Void wave.

Best Packaging Art

Winner with 34.04%: The New Standard Packaging

y79xxpbs0ouc1.jpeg?w=1024

You know what they say. Sometimes simple is best. The winner of this year's best packaging is the new standard Packaging that Hasbro has begun to release throughout all their lines. Just to remind people this includes the Wolverine 50th anniversary, The Strange Tales wave, The 85th line, Deadpool and Wolverine, Various deluxe (ie the Phoenix set) and the 2-packs (Punisher and Bushwacker). With 27.66%, second place goes to both the Secret War retro packaging and the Death's Head SDCC packaging. Third place with 4.26%, goes to the Modern Spider-man retro card AND the Inhumans 2-pack. Kang is next with a single vote while the MCU re-release got no vote.

Best Build-A-Figure

Winner with 44.44%: Blackheart

blackheart01a.jpg?w=240

I'm going to be honest. I think this was the hardest choice people had. We only had 3 BAFs this year but my god were they all incredible. But there has to be a winner and that is Blackheart. He wasn't without competition because in second place with 31.11% was Ka-Zar's pet, Zabu with the Void coming in Third with 24.44%. Blackheart will move onto the Overall finals.

Best Deluxe

Winner with 28.57%: Dan Ketch's Ghost Rider with Hellcycle

ghostriderdk01a.jpg?w=240

The deluxes this year were on fire (pun intended) but the winner of the best Deluxe and the second finalist for the Overall Best of 24, we have the remake of Dan Ketch's Ghost Rider. In second place with 17.86% with have the Phoenix set with Angel coming in third with 14.29%. Odin was next followed by Venompool, then LTBC Carnage tied with Hulkbuster Iron man, then MCU Man-thing tied with Kang and his chair, then Sam Wilson Cap and Skaar. Poor DP 2 Colossus got no votes.

And that is the first set of winners of the Best of 24. Congrats to Blackheart and Dan Ketch as the move onto the finals. The next part, the Exclusives and Multipack, will be up later today.

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. It's part 2 of our Annual Best of Marvel Legends. Today we look at the various stores exclusive and multi-packs of the year. I know, I know. "Ugh, exclusives". I understand completely. But it's a necessary evil. If Hasbro (or any other company) doesn't offer these exclusive, the major retail chains may refuse to stock their collector products.

But that is neither here nor there. As always, I ask you to judge the following NOT on where they were exclusive to or how easy they were to get (or not get) but on the figure itself. Please make your choices based on sculpt, articulation, paint, accessories and value for money. Also remember the winner of each of these moves onto the finals. You have until 12 am, Saturday (30th Nov) to vote.

Note: these will not include the Deluxe or BAF waves.

Multipack: The SHIELD set.

LOLEverything You picked here was what I picked

Single Exclusive - Death's Head (this was just a wonderful figure overall, finally to get a DH)

Non Exclusive 2 pack - Luke Cage & Iron Fist (While there were tons of great 2 packs, most of them only had 1 figure I liked in it this was the only 2 pack of the year non exclusive wise that had 2 figures I liked in it)

Exclusive 2 pack - Crystal & Lockjaw (hands down the winner, finally a Crystal figure and I loved it, but also a really great looking Lockjaw finally, a lovely 2 pack)

Multipack - SHIELD (this pack had it all, so much versatility, not only could you have Nick Fury Sr and Jr, Dum Dum, Sharon but you can make all kinds of SHIELD characters with this one, I loved the Cabal pack, but this one was a no brainer winner)

Single - Venom. Ooooh I know, I know. What the F could I be thinking? I love the Death's Head figure too. And to tell the truth the decision to purchase DH was much easier to make than to purchase yet ANOTHER Venom figure. Believe you me. But once I got that Venom in it was a massive surprise. It was perfect and beautiful and that little bit of extra articulation opened up a whole world of better poses and display. In my mind's eye this is the perfect Venom.

Non Exclusive 2 pack - Iron Fist and Luke Cage. They couldn't have done these any better. That Cage is definitive and though I would have liked some new effects for IF it's the best they've ever done. They could have done him on the Vulcan model and it would have been just as good but in this case the decision to go with articulation over musculature was probably better. Plus they are both on unique molds or mods made for these specific characters.

Exclusive 2 pack - Punisher & Bushwacker. It edges out the Crystal & Lockjaw for a few reasons. One because it was the reveal of the updated Reaper sized model we've been waiting years for. Secondly after the Zabu BAF I feel like they cheaped out on the articulation for Lockjaw. I know the reasons they gave for it but it's all just silly excuses IMO. Plus in the sitting pose which they feel most people will display him in it's hard to make him look straight forward without some crazy splaying of his hind legs. Which then makes it look silly and even worse takes up more shelf space.

Multipack - SHIELD. Love that we finally got an updated Nick Fury and so happy they gave us swap parts for Jr. So glad to see an updated DumDum but honestly I wish they would have been able to use the new Punisher model instead of the thicker Vucan model. He's just always been portrayed as a taller guy as well as thicker. And finally get a new Sharon though the face is a little wonky but I prefer to use the blonde sculpt from the SHIELD/Hydra 2 pack. I honestly think this sculpt was probably intended to be Sharon anyway but they probably held the character itself off for this later Multipack. It certainly looks the part better anyway.

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. Today we will look at the results of the second part of the Best of Marvel Legends '24. On Monday I asked you to pick the best figures that were either Exclusives or part of a Multi-pack. Well. you guys have decided and here are the results. Just to reminder you, the winners of these will move onto the Finals.

Best Single Exclusive

Winner with 45.45%: Target's Warbird

Taking the top spot of the best Single Exclusive is the Target exclusive set of the 85th Anniversary, Warbird. Can she also take the best Female comic figure? we will find out next week. Taking second place, we have Death's Head with 25.00% and a very distance third with 9.09% is the retro carded Venom. The rest were Prof X Warlord with6.82% and Captain America (Secret Empire), Retro Carnage and Retro Quicksilver taking last place.

Best Non-Exclusive 2-pack

Winner with 48.89% : Luke Cage and Iron Fist

Taking the non-exclusive 2-pack we have the Heroes for Hire 2-pack from the 85th anniversary line. Granted the rest was best Wolverine with another character but taking second place with 31.11% is the Sabretooth set followed by the Lilandra set and Lady Mandarin set with 6.67%. The f4 Wolverine and Spidey set was next with the Patch and Hulk tuxedo set taking last place.

Best Exclusive 2-pack

Winner with 31.82%: Giant man and The Wasp

Now for the exclusive 2-pack, we have the first one that was really close by the Pulse Exclusive Giant-man and Wasp set. But they weren't without contest as taking second place with 27.27% was the Lockjaw and Crystal set and third with 13.64% was Punisher and Bushwacker. In order, the line up was Hydro man and Daredevil / Destiny and Rogue (Tied), The Sentinel 2-pack / Vulture and Spider-man (Tied) and Wong and Strange / Outriders 2-pack. The Morbius and Dr. Strange 2-pack and the Baron Zemo and Arnim Zola got no vote.

Best Multipack (3 or more)

Winner with 54.55%: The Cabal

As you can tell by the votes and since there was only 2 candidate sets, this was really close but the Cabal set won out in the end. The SHIELD was a great set in it's own right but the fans have spoken.

And that is the best Exclusive and Multipack of 2024. Thanks for all that voted. The next part will up later today and it's everyone's favorite so check back later.

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. We move onto the third part of our annual Best of Marvel Legends '24 polls. This time we are looking at everyone's favorite set of categories, the Comic categories. I honestly think this is the hardest week of voting every year as there have been so many figures this year. I have tried include everyone I could. As always the winners of these will move onto the finals. You have until 12am GMT Thursday to vote

Best Newcomer

Here you will choose the figure based on a character that has never been done in Marvel Legends before today. Please decide based on sculpt, paint, articulation and whether it was worth the wait. If it doesn't appear below, Click here.

Best Remake

Here you can pick the best figure that is a remake of an older figure. To be chosen for this the figure has to be based on an older figure released before and on a NEW body. Make your choice on the usual but also on whether the figure was a improvement over the older figure. click here

Best Alternate Universe

Here you can pick a figure that is based on alternate reality version of a character that has been released before. These don't include MCU/Video Game/Cartoon version.  Click Here.

Best New Costume

Here you can pick what figure that is based on a costume of a previously released character that has yet to be released until this year. click here.

Best Re-release / Repaint

Here you can pick a figure that was released before (usually on the same body, pins or no pin) that has either been a straight re-release or a repaint. It doesn't matter if its has a new head, slightly new sculpt or different paint. Click here.

Best Villain

Here you can vote for the best figure based on villains. I think this is self-explanatory. Click here.

Best Female figure

Now for the ladies in the line. Here you can choose the best or rather prettiest Female figures of the year. Click here.

Female - She-Hulk

Alright here's what I got.

Best Newcomer

Hallow's Eve - as soon as I saw her in the comics I knew I wanted a figure, like bad, I love her look, I was so happy to get a figure and it was all I hoped for.

Best Remake

Scarlet Spider - Scarlet Spider is one of my fav characters, ben in this costume, and I've been waiting for the best version to date and this was it, they did this amazing, the fact that it was so hard to find says that everyone thought the same.

Alterenate Universe

Spider-Shot - Spider-Shot is so cool looking to me, they did a stand up job on this.

Best New Costume

Armored Dracula - I've been asking for a dracula since forever, this is actually the version I wanted the most, and it's a winner.

Best Re-Release / Repaint

Cabal Dr. Doom/Doombot - I know ...yeah this figure when it was in the Super Skrull wave was a delight, but the re-do with a doombot head and soft goods, might just be one of my fav legends, it's classic doom, but now with more Doom bot, it's such a great looking figure.

Best Villain

Lady Mandarin (Psylocke) - I loved this one, really a magnificent looking figure IMO, had to win something for me.

Best Female

Power Princess - PP might be one of the best standard release female figures in a really long time, a whole new sculpt, so well executed, and I think it's a no brainer.
