I hate the mini-comic series. It's just Hasbro's way of not giving us BAFs. The only one I would like to see as a part of this series is Deadpool. He is the only one whose inclusion makes sense.

I think each and every one of those mini-comic figures look great. Miles' face mask has a raised bit around the eyes. That is some great detailing. Ultimate Iron Man is impressive and I really liked the dynamic shots of Banshee in action. I would also have liked a BAF but it is was it is.

So....................do Banshee's side-burns/mutton chops retract when he uses his sonic scream???  😐

Nice portraits but, I gotta question WHY are they different???
ROM is a solid for me---been asking for him for a lotta years now.

Seems they're trying to show Banshee at different points in his comic journey? He went from a long, droopy look (shown here from #95); the first time we get a clear shot of the mutton chops is #98. Which itself is weird because Dave Cockrum drew his hair long in that same issue up till Banshee got captured and taken to the space station....did his captors give him a hair cut there? LOL  but no the chops don't retract; they should stay the same length.

Ummmm, guys?  Which one of you begged Hasbro to pack in a MINI COMIC BOOK with these figures??

Seriously, the effort to produce those pieces could've been spent elsewhere i.e. more relevent accessories.

Why would Banshee actually need a copy of Giant Size X-Men #1?  To sell at a convention for booze money??  I think Stark would have his comic graded and what the hell am I talking about??

NOBODY wanted these LoL

We have constantly said this in this forum. Don't ever say "No one wanted this". You don't want this. Maybe some others don't. but as far as I can see other people are having fun with these. Please don't speak for everyone.

Were people asking for minicomic accessories then? I'm genuinely curious. I hate BAFs so I don't have a dog in the fight either way. But including little comics that figures can hold seems a little weird to me.

So is Miles on a new body? This definitely looks like it has better articulation than the one from the Space Venom wave. Might be a good choice for future teenage boy characters like Synch and some of the New Mutant kids.

The sculpt on the mask looks really nice.

Comic Gwen needs a mask like that.

that is not the point I'm trying to make. The point is never say no one asked for this.

besides its a little piece of plastic with a comic cover printed on it. They probably cost barely anything in the grand scheme of things. This is still just a retro card wave and we are still getting the same number of accessories as would for a figure. I mean no one gave out about the squares and circles or lithographs that came with the Secret Wars wave. Those were useless things that probably went into a storage box. This is the same thing.

No. And all you have to do is look at the people who reviewed the live stream and groups on FB. Maybe some people are cool with it but literally nobody asked for it. The guys certainly seemed to love it. They were way too hyped for it. They were trying their hardest to make it look like it was something EVERYBODY wanted but as Sharty put it so eloquently. How many people are really going to pose their figures holding a little plastic comic book or how many people actually asked to be able to pose their figures with a little plastic comic book? Just another gimmick and if it's the gimmick they plan to do some much needed updates on older figures I'm okay with it but the first thing I do is throw those little plastic books in the storage bin. Plus it's easier to cherry pick because there's no BAF to try to complete.

Lots of good stuff today, I think the only hard passes for me are Miles (I'm happy with the versions I have), Electro (Stopped getting MCU stuff for the most part), and maaaaaybe Ultimate Iron Man. Though I do love how "chunky" the figure looks.  He seems proportioned like a guy in an armored suit instead of the usual Iron Man problem where he's no bigger than any other guy which means Tony Stark must be using Pym Particles to fit in his suit, or he's an anorexic pinhead.

My only observation/speculation is this:  I'm usually pretty bullish on Hasbro keeping ahold of their licenses, but this "Maximum" line looks like it's getting about as close to "definitive versions" as Hasbro would ever get, and that makes me seriously wonder if Hasbro is really concerned about losing the Marvel license in a couple years, and the team is trying to go out strong if that comes to pass.

You aren't the only person to speculate that Hasbro might walk away from the Disney licenses in the future. I hope it doesn't happen for many reasons. Maybe if Hasbro seems like it might drop Star Wars and Marvel, Disney will be nicer to them in the next deal.

Yes. If anything I think the last few years of light MCU product has shown is that comic figures sell much better than the constant barrage of the same old done and redone movie figures. Many of them with boring designs like Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Marvels. It blows my mind how they put so much effort behind such a bland full movie wave as Eternals and thought it was a good idea the make the husky guy the BAF. It's like everyone could see it was going to be a peg warmer except the guys calling the shots. Who hired these guys? Seriously. I guarantee a comic based Eternals wave would have sold many times better than those figures still polluting Ollie's and Ross' shelves all across the country. But Disney's expectations that movie product take priority over comic product hampers Hasbro's ability to make the most of the license. Of course it helps if a movie is good. But in the case of Spidey NWH the product was sparse with them taking over 3 years now to make full use out of the available characters. And look at Wolverine & Deadpool. So much potential for only 2 figures. Maybe more will come out but should we expect it to trickle out like NWH? It's just so strange how things get projected and prioritized. It baffles the mind. But as we know as the movies start to roll out again we can once again expect that per Disney the movies will get the majority of the resources and marketing and comic product will see a major slowdown. At that point it wouldn't surprise me if Hasbro just cut bait and ran.

I do not see Hasbro dropping the license over movie figures, lol. A much bigger concern would be the price Disney expects for any renewal of the contract, which is a known thing in any licensed product dealing with them (there’s even a term for it: Disney Tax).

But we’ve done this before. There were people sure the last renewal wouldn’t happen a few years ago and that Mattel would swoop in to take over Marvel, and look how that turned out.

I kinda like the Jean Grey and the Maximum Spidey looks sweet with all the accessories… but my only must buy is the Electro. Kinda bummed they’re making him what seems like a deluxe when the only thing he comes with is the big electric effects… but… oh well…

If we are getting any D+, I hope they go light, or zero, on the What if figures.

I would hope for a WWBN, Elsa, Wiccan, yellow DD. Not sure what else.

and a deluxe or baf of Biscuits from Echo....jk.

I wanna see those Ultimate figures too.

I agree. I couldn't care less about What If? figures and I'm also very interested in seeing more of the Maximum series figures. I would prefer a Born Again DD for the D+ wave, though.

I too, would prefer a Born Again, but would like the yellow as well though. I'm one of the vast minority that really liked She Hulk. Not perfect, and I hated the Wrecking Crew thing, but I enjoyed the story with her and DD quite a bit!

I was debating canceling my Secret Wars figures, that EE Still! has me waiting on, cause we are definitely getting a Maximum Cap and black suit Spidey in the next few rounds of those. My crazy @$$ is gonna have to buy both of the Caps though. I really do hope that after Max Hulk we get a proper DD, and an amazing perfect original look Thor with lightning, a swinging hammer, and a stand for a powered up hammer being thrown at an opponent! A Max Nightcrawler with a Bamf effect may never happen, but my vote is in right now!

You've got my attention with this, would indeed be very cool. There's a good chance we'll get a lot of good stuff with this line.

I honestly have no clue if anybody mentioned this yet, but I think those weights they teased at the end are for that strong guy's re-release that is supposed to be coming out.
