Loved the first season, although it obviously had some issues with felling cohesive after the almost scrapping it got. Hopefully this feels like one show not two sewn together. Assuming it will! Dropped D+ over the pricehike (it can't just be a yearly thing guys) but will pick it up end of March for this and catch up with Wonderman at that point.

It seems like that black dye/paint will slowly come off and give us sorta comic book style shadowing and ink look, which is pretty cool on the visual level.

Season 2 Ep1 Thoughts SPOILERS AHEAD.

Just a quick addition. Firstly, fantastic first episode, I am a sucker for "sexy sexy" political thriller, with little seeds planted here and there. Good use of PTSD but the elephant in the room and the inevitability is that we're going to get Elektra in this (hopefully recast cos Ellody was awful, sorry). The ship operators being Greek and the Greek restaurant helping folk is all a nod to Elektra's coming. Also like to add, as a Greek, I enjoyed hearing the language lol. Some were solid, others were clearly not familiar with Greek but applaud the effort

Face Front, True Believers! Fantastic episode. FINALLY we get the DD on his suit. Its gonna look good in red, for now black is fine. I am concerned how they're gonna explain why Kingpin hasn't exposed Daredevil's secret identity (yet). And what a topical theme, given what we're going in real life right now. Also where are the other heroes? Will we find out? Cant wait for more episodes! Let's Level With Daredevil!

There's rumors of Finn ones coming back. If they do that, you can pretty much count on Élodie Yung coming back, too. No matter how bad she was as Elektra.

I thought this as well, the Elektra theory, truly I actually didn't hate Elodie as Elektra, I did kinda hate how they did the character though, but they can fix that up, given the right writing and direction they can redeem her, although I also don't really remember her potryal as Eleketra either since it was when the previous episodes released was the last time I saw her.

I have a strong feeling we will see everyone from the Defenders return eventually, with no re-casting, because even finn jones is rumoured, as long as they can write and direct them better, then that's fine, I already really apperciated they did so much better with Finn in Iron Fist S2.

Loved that we finally got to see Swordsman in action! Hopefully he gets a suit and joins the Defenders or something. Maybe we'll even get a figure one day. A very glaring hole in my Avengers lineups.

I didnt hate Elodie as Elektra either, and thought she actually did a good job. However there are dozens of actresses out there who would've been more suited to the part. The producers should really just follow the template they have for the likes of Kingpin, Vanessa- make it as close to the comic as they can. Those two are nearly perfectly cast for their roles, and it feels as if the writers enjoy bringing them to life. I'd prefer Elektra to be played by Katrina Law, Adria Arjona, Eiza González, or...Joanna Fyllidou(!)

Adria Would actually be fantastic as Elektra, good call, I actually think she probably would have been there choice had it been a different time, since She's already tied in with Disney being in Star Wars, But totally would be pretty perfect for Elektra, Eiza could be really great as well.

Personally felt like this episode was a bit of a filler. Lots of flashbacks explaining things we already understand about characters. 2 episodes in a row of Fisk yelling in anguish for the last scene. All the stuff with Matt and Bullseye was good. Overall I do feel like I'm still waiting for them to catch up with where last season left off, "I need to find some friends". Ok, so do it! Not to sound super negative, I am enjoying the season, and the Bulleye "New York State of Mind" scene will be one of the most comic booky iconic things I've seen in any show. I've rewatched it literally like 15 times already. Once this storyline is done, we really need a break from Bullseye and Fisk, he has more villains than that guys. Let's get weird with Mr Fear or Owl. Or just down and dirty with Gladiator or the Hand for an episode or something. Some crossover with Batroc or the "Serpent Society" from other movies would be pretty nice too.

Yeah, this episode spent way too much time on the flashbacks for my liking. I just wanted them to get on with the main story.

I never really cared for the Kingpin/Vanessa plotline, so good riddance.  Weird that they're humanizing all these villains, giving them all these sweetheart moments, but then only giving Matt busy work and depression.  The show is kind of shallow so I'm hoping getting some new supes into the mix will make things more interesting.

I agree with the villain problem. Hollywood writers just don't seem to get  bad guys. They make everyone a Byronic Hero. Everyone is grey. Now that Is realistic, but some bad guys just need to be evil. Super hero stuff is partially a moral fantasy where good is good and bad is bad. Where some villains are really grey, we do need some to be pure evil. Red Skull for instance. They just never give us really scary, unsettling villains.
