Honestly Yes, if I wanted it, but also this will likely be around 70-75 here in Canada, I stopped caring how much most items cost if I really want them, Also something like this seems like it will sell out very quickly, as classic Spideys always do, so I would say strike while the iron is hot on a figure like this.

I don't want this, but It seems worth the deluxe price, it's new tooling, tons of details and accessories, but also like I say in Canada this is going to be like 75- maybe even 80 (Phoenix was 80!)

That's probably the top that I would go. I would rather it be closer to 39.99. But after Phoenix being 49.99 and the deluxe Angel being 34.99 it's very hard for me to gauge what a reasonable price from Marvel Legends is these days.

I absolutely agree here. At the end of the day this is a marvel legends figure that they usually charge msrp for at 24.99. So I can't understand how this could be more than 39-45? Like I understand that this is damn near import lvl, which Is very impressive I also understand the new buck point but so is ROM and he is 24.99. And I would still purchase this with no hesitation cuz I am a sucker at 49.99. And I do expect hasbro to keep this in the 40s.

I don’t think most collectors would bat an eye at that price, and would continue to pay that moving forward for A-List characters that are done at the same level of quality…but anything more is pushing it. This sub-line should also be an evergreen product, or at least run for a longer period of availability and should not be an exclusive.

Personally I'm hoping that I don't have to find out and that it retails for $34.99. I fully expect to buy it regardless.

Wonder how many of those poses I can recreate with my Tobey McGuire super-articulated deluxe Spider-Man, that cost me maybe $14.99 at the time?

Oh, right, that was ToyBiz, so they aren't being misleading when they say most articulated to date...

I voted no because I have the MAFEX Spidey and he's plenty good enough for me. I don't like the look of ML calf swivels, but it absolutely needs that articulation joint below the knee. Until they move it to the ankle like other imports or evolve some new scheme they're always going to be my second choice.

No. Not saying no to the entire line, but I don't need a $50 Spider-Man. I can get a $20 CT Toys Spidey and be very happy with that. Now if they make a Cap with alt heads, shields, etc, they might get my $50.

Spider-Man, where he is my favorite character - maybe, depending on how much extra cash I had at the time, and how much I was "feeling" Marvel at the time. Right after seeing the upcoming MCU films - probably not, (although I know one doesn't have anything to do with the other), but if I went back through some of my favorite comic arcs - maybe.
It would be the ONLY and I mean ONLY character I would spend that much money on. Let's face it, he can only have on head and one set of hands at a time.

No, I would not buy it at that price; this is hasbo's way of trying to gouge us even more, and frankly I knew there are some that would try this. But the bigger box and extra accessories don't sway me. Far as articulation goes, isn't this exactly what he was supposed to be anyway??  There's never been anything holding hasbo back from making these figures articulate and accurate, aside from lack of will, and that same greed we saw on the eov cashgrab. And I hear the whole "you'd have to pay that much on the secondary market" but that's only because too many give in to the scalpers. YES...they just had some very good reveals, no question. But don't lose your heads over this.

What are we getting here...........really???

Mere degrees of differences, for a price point effectively double??  <snort>

Here's what would make this truly "premium" for this price point:
--Magnets in the hands and feet so the figure can stick to a metal wall.
--camera
--web-backpack
--loose mask for when Peter head is unmasked
--figure stand or diorama base
--Daily Bugle newspaper and newspaper box
--pizza slice and plate of wheatcakes
-- scale framed pic of MJ
-- soft-goods web bag to stuff a villain into and hang

These in addition to what's already show in the set.  For the price-point, I want VALUE-ADDED, not just meagre items added in for the appearance of being more.
These sets are supposed to showcase a new trend, and support the figure and character doing so.  Obviously, they will do their A-listers--the main-est of the mainstream characters; Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man etc.---and ALL of these will require..........demand..........new tooling for both figure and accessories.  Not the chronic, continuous cheapening shell-game that Hasbro loves to play.

This is all pretty much more " Malibu Stacy WITH HAT" because there's NOTHING we've seen here that's not been seen with other product.
Marvel Legends used to come with a full comic book, and a diorama  base.  What replaced those things has never been of comparable value.

Ok, hear me out on my yes vote. I don't Want to pay 50 bucks for this. I think it should be 35. That seems fair to me compared to Angel, who I felt fine with the price. 40 is my actual guess as to the price. But for 50 I probably will get it begrudgingly. Because it IS going to sell out fast and it IS going to be really pricey, like most Spideys, on the secondary. So, yes. I would probably bite this bullet if I'm being honest. If I thought we all would pass as a statement about price gouging, I would join in. But a lot of people who say they won't buy it will, and next thing you know, it'll sell out on Pulse, be "Pre Sold Out" on EE, 70 on Amazon, and 100 on ebay.

That is too damned much plain and simple. 35 USD, 40 tops. Im in Canada, so best case scenario I am paying 35 and change from my primary source per standard Hasbro 6 inch as it is. No interest in paying more than 50 cdn for this format.

I am sure they will make a Wolverine I will need to get.

☝️Spot on. Look at what happens with key X Men, the movie Spider Men from NWH; Hell X Men 97 figures were selling at multiples of retail within weeks. Demand was such that not only did Hasbro reissue them, some of those reissues were friggin exclusives.

Toy collecting is expensive enough; If they have 20-25 characters and costumes to do and maybe do 4 a year this could work. Premium format didnt work for Lightning Collection but they did 6 rangers at once, 2 were in high demand. PR aint Marvel, but lets see.

I'm a collector if I like the figure I buy it, but how expensive is too expensive. I remember when Toy Biz marvel color change Invisible women was selling for $100 as was US Agent. Demand is demand. Figures have come a long way . Mafex figures have more hands, cloth cape, and added Heads and weapons but they also cost more. If you want the figure you pay the price. If not you pay more on the after market. I would like to see it at $35.00.BUT YES I'm going to buy it but I will buy 1 not 2 like I usually do.

There have been so many standard Spider-Man figures released recently that I could never bring myself to drop $50 on one just because of a few extra joints and a ton of accessories that will mostly end up in storage.

Posted

I'm also reminded of Transformers Generations constantly releasing the next best Optimus Prime pretty much every year. So, chances are there will be another Maximum Ultimate version of Spidey probably next year. Also it's not like they wouldn't release this mold again
