The Next Walmart Collector-Con Event To Begin On March 13!?!

Using deductive reasoning it looks like the next Walmart Collector-Con event will be taking place next month March 13-14.

While the event has yet to be officially announced, Hasbro has said their next two Marvel Legends Walmart exclusives (77' TV Series Spider-Man and Gamerverse Spider-man 2 Spirit Spider) will be going up for pre-order in March.

While Hasbro didn't give a specific date in March for when the Spirit Spider figure would go up when they officially announced it earlier this week in their fan-stream, they did give a pre-order date of March 13 with their official press information for the figure.

Generally these Hasbro Marvel Legends Walmart exclusives go up for pre-order during the Walmart Collector Con 2 day events and we know one is coming soon because that was revealed by McFarlane Toys earlier this month.

So with all that, we would say mark your calendar for March 13 and expect both the Marvel Legends Walmart exclusives 77' TV Series Spider-Man and Gamerverse Spider-man 2 Spirit Spider figures to go up for pre-order during that time.

When more official details become available we will be sure to let you know.

basically Spirit/ Ghost Spider is what would happen if Ben never died..... long story short, Spider-man become Ghost Rider.

I'm tempted to pick up Spirit Spider just because it looks like it could fit in a comic-inspired display. As I've mentioned time and time again, I'm not much of a MCU/gamerverse fan, but there are always some exceptions....

Sometimes a figure is just so cool looking, I want it no matter the context. I did love this look in the game, and he is in the comics...And I do have a team of Ghost Riders set up currently Danny, Johnny, Robbie and Hellverine rollin together.

I was more thinking of a team of established character who become Ghost Rider. I guess Cosmic Ghost Rider could be included since he was the Punisher

We told you last week how the next Walmart Collector-Con event would take place next Thursday on March 13, but now we know that Walmart will start to preview the products they will be selling during the event tomorrow (3/6) at 10am ET.

For Marvel Legends we expect the Marvel Legends Walmart exclusives (77' TV Series Spider-Man and Gamerverse Spider-man 2 Spirit Spider) figures to go up for pre-order next week. Below is the image from the Walmart website which showed a blacked out Spider-Man figure. We replaced the blacked out image with the one Hasbro showed for the 77' Spider-Man several months ago which you can see is an exact match.

For Star Wars we know their will be 4 figures. Hasbro officially announced three of those as the Black Series Revenge Of The Sith Cardback Count Dooku, Kit Fisto and R2-D2. The blacked out teaser image shown below seems to tease a Clone Trooper which we assume will be the fourth figure offered during the event.

From Hasbro we should also be seeing Transformers and perhaps for G.I. Joe Classified a Night Force Beach Head and Quick Kick 2-pack which was shown during Toy Fair.

Other companies we know who should have a presence at Collector Con is McFarlane Toys, though we don't have any specifics on what products they might be offering during the event.

Nitpicking here but, technically in the '77 tv movie he wasnt wearing the wrist shooter and belt on the outside of his costume like he did in the '78 series. But, i understand that's how they're branding him.

Love the image on the back of the box replicating the poster. Also, love that they implied the red leather detail on the belt. Wouldn't have faulted them if they missed that.

I guess I'll just never understand the ML development crew's thought process. So they use basically the same old Sunfire model but retooled to eliminate the butterfly joints which they often use for the justification for using the model so often. Especially for the more athletic figures. Yet they leave everything else that makes the model look so strange like the tiny shoulders and extremely long neck. They removed articulation yet made no improvement to aesthetics. What was the point? To make room for the chest logo? I honestly think it could have easily fit on the original version of the model. Plus Hasbro's never had a problem making adjustments to details to accommodate sculpt limitations. They are just all over the place lately.

I seriously wonder what Hasbro was smoking when they decided 1977 Spider-Man needed his own action figure. Unlike Japanaese Spider-Man, I have never heard any demand from him.

It's not like paint costs more than tooling. It's a terrible excuse. Also, there are other characters who have had their logos broken due to the presence of butterfly joints and no one has complained about them: Venom and symbiote suit Spider-Man.

Actually there was a high demand for this to be made when the Japanese spiderman was revealed.

Him and Ferrigno Hulk have been on many collector's wishlists for years.  But i don't think many even considered that he was ever really a possibility considering that the show never got an official DVD release or was streaming anywhere.
