Disappointed that War Machine doesn't have black legs like his portrait art:

It would also have made him more distinct from the previous releases of this body mold. On the flip side, I'm glad the silver in the prototype looked a lot less minty than the glam shots.

Before they revealed the full roster, I was hoping he was going to be one of the deluxe releases. Maybe pairing him with his War Destroyer, sort of to go along with the Proton Cannon from the retro Modular Iron Man:

Solid reveals! Ā

Okay (Cracks finger....oww) here is my usual run-through of these.

  • Sue - No Interest
  • Both Johnny - No Interest
  • Shalla Ball - Will get unless Hasbro suddenly announces a comic version.... which they won't.
  • Ben - NoĀ Interest
  • Reed - No Interest
  • Wolverine - was going to skip this but since this is a whole new sculpt and came crunch that far, I will get it.
  • Silver Samurai - Looks nice. I have to see how it looks against my comic version
  • Psylocke - It uses the Phoenix body. IT. USES. THE. PHOENIX. BODY. Nuff said.
  • Thanos - Eh. Could have done without.
  • Cap - Looks nice and is this our first "classic" Cap with butterfly joints?
  • Venom - I have the Target? retro version so Eh.
  • War Machine and Omega Red - Will skip.
  • Shuma Gigantos - Best reveal of the entire stream. It is massive. It's eye can move. His can blink. It has bend wired tenctacle. It..................... is going to be totally overpriced but I don't care. It will be mine.
  • Juggs - I was happy with my 2-pack/BAF version but this is bigger, bulkier and an instant buy.
  • as for the arrow? I don't know. I instantly thought of either Hawkeye but I also thought of Dark Hawkeye or Trickshot. This one will be hard.

My take is almost exactly the same! Ā The FF Figures are solid, but I don't collect MCU (though I love the stand for Shalla Ball). I almost bought the Secret Wars pinless Cap, but now I am so glad I didn't (I prefer this one - looks like it uses some parts from the recent Shield 3 pack). Ā Sold my Psylocke and Elektra after Phoenix was released (suspected they wouldn't be far behind, and Betsy looks great)! Ā X-Men 97 Wolverine made me think I wouldn't be interested in another Wolverine, but the display possibilities for this new one are incredible (definite purchase). The Juggernaut update is insanely good, but I agree, Shuma was the star of the show - pieces like this, Haslabs Sentinel, Galactus, and Giant Man, Made To Order Dragonman, and big weird figures like MODOK, Sugarman, Blob, and Mojo Ā really make collections pop!.Ā

Would rather it be a regular size Super Adaptoid but Bowman is another possibility I suppose.

Yeah, as long as he has his wings this time

My assumption was an early prototype for a Dark Avengers Bullseye given we just got Moonstone and Daken, but I could be off.

It's very possible

So much to unpack, but in all honesty, I was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't really been that hyped about the "Marvel vs. Capcom" stuff but seeing these had me convinced! The Psylocke and Gargantos are the 2 must-haves for me. I'll also be picking up the Captain America/Venom and the Wolverine/Silver Samurai as these are just too cool to pass up. I didn't get my classic Beta Ray Bill yet, but these definitely suffice in the meantime. All in all, a pretty sick livestream!

Can't you get it from Toy Snowman or CMD? I've ordered from both when I missed out on a Target exclusive with no issues.Ā

Yeah that has been the case a fair amount of times, but it's not entirely certain, there have been a few things that end up in a weird state of limbo, for the most part Target exclusives were TRU exclusives, that has been sort of up in the air as of late, but TRU stinks, bad prices, bad stocking.

So I do hope yes that it will be a fan channel item and readily available from multiple e-tailers or EB, but I always get a bit worried, so I'm going to just act cool and hope I won't have trouble, I need that Psylocke.Ā

So not 100% confirmed but looks like prices on the MVC sets will be $60 for the 2-pack, $65 for Juggernaut and $65-$70 of Shuma.

Ah, the ribbed Fantastic 4 turtle neck sweaters will be coming for this x-mas, I'd bet.Ā

I wonder why the movie guys decided to have Reed with just blue instead of some upper white. Anyway I can see getting one of these.Ā

The big guns im ok with but the $60 two pack...wth that damn ludicrous. Now that wolverine 2 pack is REALY hard for me to justify but now its the only one I may buy. If $60 is the new MO... Man I really hope that info is wrong and its 49.99 or even 54.99.

Another pretty good Fanstream IMO. Full of a lot of goodness and a little disappointment as usual. They can't all be winners after all.

Fantastic Four figures are just no. I'm done with MCU figures. They are basically actor figures and honestly these actors don't appeal to me as the characters they play. Still hoping for the best and it does look good just IMO the worst cast MCU film since Eternals. If the movie is good enough I might get these when they go on sale. And they will go on sale.

Wolverine & Silver Samurai look very cool. But as usual with these multi packs they depend on one figure to push sales and the other character is more or less a throw in. In this case the Wolvie is a definite upgrade from the last and unfortunately the SS doesn't have enough new going for it that I feel the need to purchase it. Another thing I do have a concern about is Wolverine's size. The figure was in a deep squat the entire stream and when they set him next to the older Wolverine figure the newer one was barely shorter. I'm afraid all that extra detail and articulation made him too large. Then again it might have just been a perspective thing. Going to have to wait and see.

Psylocke & Thanos is pretty much just like the W&SS set. Except this time this is the definitive Psylocke we've all been waiting for. Beautiful face sculpt. Beautiful body mold. This is an instant buy regardless of the fact that Thanos is just Thanos with a new coat of paint and some longer horns. I will be all over this one. Assuming I can land one when pre orders open at freaking Target.

Cap & Venom is something I'm really on the fence about. I love the Cap. It's beautiful and by far the best looking one and the best articulated one to date. But to me he looks very cartoony. Again I plan to wait and see. Venom does nothing for me. I already have what I consider the perfect Venom with the most recent Retro Card version. Maybe a little large but I love the mold and the articulation is fantastic. I'm with Dan in not understanding why so many people wanted him to be blue. He's not blue in general but he is in the game for some reason so as a game figure I guess it's spot on.

War Machine & Omega Red just don't have enough substance to make me want to purchase them again. I think we have great representations for both. The major selling points are the upgrades in accessories and as much as I harp on Hasbro about their lack of accessories these particular ones are not so great that I'd be convinced to purchase these figures again.

Gargantos is an interesting one. It's huge and it has all those bendy wire arms that Hasbro forever told us were not possible to do. Due to plastic stability and safety issues. Guess not so much anymore. I love it. I want it. But I wonder what the final damage is going to be. If I had to guess. And I do. I would say this thing is going to be floating around the $85 price point instead of $65.

Juggernaut is also another one I'm fighting with. When they announced the first Juggs BAF and then the Juggs/Colossus 2 pack I hoped both times they would look a little more like the game version. With the giant fists and huge helmet. This is that one. But it is almost too big. And the legs look too long and disproportionate when not in the pose it was meant to be put into. Traditionally Juggernaut has been shown to be around the same size as Hulk or possibly a little bit larger but this guy seems crazy huge even compared to the already too large Hulk figure. I think I'm going to pass on this one as well. He looks amazing but we already have quite a few BAFs and Deluxe larger figures that are way out of scale with their fellow Big Guys so I don't want to add to my collection of wrong sized dudes. Also I believe this one will come in around $80 as well.

Good thing about this is now that there is a model even larger than the hulk one maybe we'll finally get a proper scaled Abomination that's rumored to be in the works. And possibly a newer bigger broader Sasquatch figure which are both guys that are known to actually be bigger than Hulk yet do not scale properly with his figure in the ML world. Possibly in a Gamerverse wave based on Contest of Champions where those game designs are very close if no perfect representations of their comic looks.

As far as the tease I'm on the boat with most that this most likely points to a DA Hawkey/Bullseye figure. Though I do like @SpiderS's idea for a Mattel & Hasbro ML and DCM crossover line. It would be awesome but the companies historically don't play well together and Mattel in particular does not like the perception that they would ever follow up and take cues from Hasbro's ideas or designs. Which is why I think they shot David Vonner down so many years ago when he proposed a line to be similar and compatible with ML. Hasbro on the other hand has a history of picking up on existing designs and improving on them. If these guys could somehow get together and agree on something they could probably make a lot of money with a crossover line.

Anniversary sets are usually more expensive.

Lol. Maybe so they can tell each others suits apart when they come out of the wash.

What's the anniversary?

I think it's the anniversary of the MvC game but they couldn't get licensed for the C so they just called it Gamerverse.

That's a bit high considering the most recent two packs have been 49.99 but maybe 59.99 will keep Psylocke from selling out in two minutes.

I wish the war machine/Omega red pack was the Target exclusive. Even if I do get a pre order in for psylocke I can't stand how target will have it as a pending payment like every week or two and if it comes out in the fall I'll always have to have $60 freed up at any given time for months. And then it may even get cancelled it's really just a nightmare. Why make the pack you know everyone is going for a Target exclusive? Hasbro needs to do better on their end.

Isn't Haul-a-thon stuff usually in stock to ship immediately?

It's not a haul-a-thon item I wish it was. I don't think they have ever had a marvel legends as a haul-a-thon item. It's just a Target exclusive.
