Hasbro Marvel Legends Retro Reissues........Everywhere

Hasbro's Dan Yun has posted on Social Media that a bunch of Marvel Legends Reissues are coming to Target, Walmart and Amazon! Oh my! Some of these figures have already been found in local stores here in the US and a few have been listed online!

Walmart:

Spider-Man Retro Marvel Legends: Rhino, J. Jonah Jameson, Sandman, Kraven and Cyborg Spider-man

Target:

X-men '97 Wolverine and Rogue

Amazon and at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth:

Marvel Legends Retro Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider and Electro. Electro went up for pre-order last week and based on the EE Drop Zone page it looks like Ghost Rider and Doom will go up on August 12 at 1pm ET.

At some later point X-Men 97 Cyclops may go up at Fan-Channel retailers.

I actually really appreciate that Hasbro is re-releasing Legends figures now, they did it with Star Wars forever, but it's been a great move recently with Legends, I can't say how pleased I was that I finally got a Prof X and Kingpin, for the most part I'm always good on these though.

But as for this assortment of re-issues, I'm sort of stumped as to why Figures like J. Jonah, Kraven & Cyborg Spidey are getting a second shot, since As far as I could see none of those were high demand, mainly because Kraven was so easy to get (at least here), at one point I literally saw 5 on the pegs at Walmart not even that long ago, J. Jonah was marked down heavily I even got him for dirt cheap, and was really Cyborg Spidey that desired? Doom makes sense, Rhino really makes sense, Sandman might make sense, Electro sure, but Ghost Rider without a bike..really? When you can just grab Dan Ketch now easily, and hes been on sale.  

Anyways keep it up Hasbroz because I think this really makes people happy so they can stop battling scalpers. I'll say this and not from my personal needs but Blob needs a re-release, Labcoat beast and Retro Mystero, and The highly sought after (because of people buying to mod) Power Princess.

I always go back and forth on this. While I'm always glad someone who really wanted something gets a chance, it's also nice to have something that's worth something sometimes. 97% of the time I take stuff out, but I occasionally do not. I have that GR and he goes for 60-70 bucks. Mine kept getting backordered, so by the time I got him he was worth double what I just paid for him. I have a few of these carded, but it would be nice to get that Sandman. I passed before thinking I might see him on clearance, but never did. And man, I think about how little of this stuff I've ever seen in store in the last few years. My local Walmuerte gets literally nothing. I saw two guys walking out with the Punisher and Deadpool McFarlane statues from an isle I was literally just in, they clearly got them from a buddy that worked there. All in all though, if it was worth money, it usually sells out fast and is worth money again, like Kingpin. So glad anyone who missed can get a chance!

I think that I've already got all of these except for that Doom. There was a time when I would have been ecstatic about that re-issue, but not really anymore since the 3-pack version.

I agree that the labcoat Beast is one that I really most wish they'd re-issue. I missed him and have been rolling with the one that I believe is from the Caliban BAF wave. However, I still like my old ToyBiz version as well. It still stands up better than most figures from that era. The only other retro card figure that I might be tempted by that I didn't get the first time was the Peter Parker figure, if they chose to re-release that one.

Retro Scorpion would be the only carded re-issue I'd be interested in.  Granted the figure is kind of slight and small compared to where I'd ideally like Scorpion to be, but having passed on that sweet 90s Animated color scheme, I'd take a second chance at that one.

Sooner or later, they are bound to reissue the Integrated Suit Spider-Man from No Way Home...and I am seriously hoping they take that extra step to make it truly worthwhile by making a screen-accurate version with updated forearms and a proper black suit - rather than a straight reprint of the red/gray suit figure.

Not sure if there's a compelling reason to pick up Doom after the 3 pack. For the Spider-Man figures, I wouldn't mind another shot at the Mary Jane/Gwen Stacy combo.

I already pre-ordered Electro on BBTS.., I've been looking for one for a minute that wasn't over $40.., now I'm happy I waited... also even tho I have both Super Skrull & Cabal 3 Pack Doom.. I might pick up Retro Doom just for the accessories..& I actually prefer it's brighter colors. I'm also getting Retro Jonah... I've seen him going for crazy prices as well... I'm hoping that they also reissue Retro Lizard & Mysterio..

I really need/want that Sandman, Rhino and preordered Electro on BBTS. Emma is back up on BBTS btw. 

I would also like Kraven, Shocker and Scorpion. Need Ock and would love a re-release of Venom/Carnage. I have a MCU sinister Six. 

Would like a classic Mysterio and Lizard re-release as well. May pick up Kazar soonish. 
 

May pass on retro Doom. Have Cabal Doom with bendy wire cape

Sandman was up for 24.99! I got him in the cart and searched for something to order for free shipping. By the time I got the T shirts in the cart, he was unavailable!!! C'mon!!! I'm getting sick of this! 

 

Update: He's back up for 24.99, if anyone is interested.

For anyone who's gotten the original and then the rerelease of any of these figures, are there any differences in say the paint or face print? I can't imagine these have just been sitting in a warehouse since 2022 and just sent out, so they had to have made some updates no?

Great chance for those that want the Rhino- but I have the BAF so I think I'm good. I wish Hasbro had taken the chance to redo his body buck to make it stand out and update him, then I would have grabbed at the chance. If you're one to want the new emperor Doom figure that was shown at SDCC, this retro release isn't needed for your collection, at least not for me. It's cool to see Sandman come back out, I was debating on whether to get it, but I have the BAF anyway.

I originally didn't get this Sandman since I have the SDCC, brown one, and the baf. But I will say, now having this retro carded one, this is very different. I like having the regular sized version as well. While he did "get big" pretty often, he wasn't always. And that half sand head, with the hole in his head is awesome. Perfect for a Punisher set up. Now we need the armored Frightful Four version!!!

Yes you're right, might be a good idea to have a regular sized Sandman who is also not actually sand turning too!

I managed to snag JJJ, Kraven and Sandman on Walmart.com. 

I haven't seen Rhino yet. I would like to get him but not for $100 

Also had ordered Shalla Bal, but after a delay of 2 days? They canceled my order. I ended up finding her for preorder on Gamestop with a release date of 8/18/25 for anyone that missed her. I used my Pro discount and monthly $5 off to pay for the shipping/handling.

Yeah that is a 3rd party seller. Capitol toys or something iirc. Sandman was like $40 something then I saw him listed for MSRP and grabbed him. 

I may snag DOOM and Ghost Rider. I do not have Ghost Rider but I do have Cabal Doom.

Weird that GR was 29.99 originally, and now is 24.99. And Doom is 29.99 now. At least on EE. Of course GR is sold out.

I Mean for the crazy price hike for Doom, other then getting all of the accessories, I'd say the Cabal set version is more the better Doom and probably a better price with 2 other awesome figures, that's my thought, also Yeah the Ghost Rider seems like it's not worth it if you can just get the amazing Dan Ketch with his sick Bike, because like correct me if I'm wrong did Johnny actually ever wear that suit in those colors? I believe not, it's just a weird homage to Dan in Johnny Garbs.
