This January, AVENGERS #34, part of superstar writer Jed MacKay and acclaimed artist Farid Karami’s current hit run, will mark the 800th issue of the AVENGERS ongoing series. To celebrate this mighty milestone, the issue will be a giant-sized spectacular with special backup stories by legendary past creators. AVENGERS #34 will also mark a critical turning point in MacKay’s era on the title as various overarching plot threads, including Kang and Myrddin’s battle across space and time, the secrets of the Impossible City, and more collide in epic fashion!

Everything has been building toward this: MYRDDIN’s ENDGAME! As Kang stands revealed at the precipice of a NEW UNIVERSE, this powerhouse team of AVENGERS assemble for the final challenge they’ve been bracing themselves for!

"AVENGERS #800 is a milestone for both the title and our story, as we enter the grand finale of the story we've been telling for the last few years!” MacKay explained. “It's been fantastic to be a part of such a big anniversary issue, and to have contributed to the history of the Avengers!"

AVENGERS #34 will feature a stunning wraparound cover by best-selling artist Russell Dauterman that assembles heroes from throughout Avengers’ history. The epic connecting cover will be spread across three issues, running through March’s AVENGERS #36.

On his wild connecting cover, Dauterman shared, "I jumped at the chance to draw these covers –– I'm honored to be involved with this Marvel milestone! Editor Wil Moss referenced Jim Lee's X-Men team lineups as inspiration –– I ran with that, looking to the awesome 1992 trading cards and also to the awesome art of George Pérez. I love the Avengers team pieces that George did over the years, and was excited for the opportunity to do my own."

Preorder AVENGERS #800 at your local comic shop today and stay tuned in the weeks ahead for news about the surprise creators contributing to this landmark issue!

That is a milestone indeed and a gorgeous cover.

reminds me of this lineup poster. DC has their own of course, but I like seeing these big ensembles. It shows the breadth of the marvel universe at a glance and you can look at it and each time feels like you notice someone or something new.

I love art like this that just showcases all kinds of amazing characters Marvel has all in one place, I actually tailored the idea of my Legends display off art like this, just random massive collection deliberately random.

Now who is going to do the work and document every character here that we still need in figure form in one shape or another.

Hawkeye to Wanada:  "Hey, look at me. It's your fault, it's everyone's fault. Who cares? Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know. Because the city is flying. Okay. Look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense. But I'm going back out there because it's my job. Okay? And I can't do my job and babysit.
Doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good, I'll send your brother to come find you.
But if you step out that door, you are an Avenger. "

I'm weird and love characters like Dr. Druid and Stingray, so it always bothers me when I see them shoved into a corner and barely shown.  It is what it is I guess.

Loved that they put Gilgamesh in his crazy horned outfit. No love for Moira Brandon, but in fairness looks like no honorary members made the cut. Even Captain Mar-vell.

Dr Druid is so high on my needs list it's hilarious. Stingray is crazy we haven't gotten him yet, just a cool outfit, and that connection to Deadpool. And I really thought we'd get Sersi in green and Gilgamesh to finish off those early 90s Avengers teams by now.

I'm perfectly fine with Gilgamesh in his loincloth outfit because I don't think they'll do the goat outfit. Don't want his current version.

I would love green costume Sersi, but since the Eternals movie wasn't so hot, I think we'll be lucky to see others made. Just hope they realize collectors will buy the classic Eternals.

Just cause the movie figures pegwarmed doesn't mean the comic ones would. Ikarus seemed to sell relatively well. Unfortunately the jacket Avengers Sersi pack did not sell well, so I am.worried about getting her in green. But she was on the Avengers for quite a while. Gil was only on the team for a few issues, but that transitional team with Reed and Sue was really cool imo.

Classic Eternals are what I hope for. Maybe they'll do some sort of multi- pack to finally give us some.

I was actually surprised the FF weren't grouped together on the poster. I suppose they were on the team pretty much at different times.

I can see the redoing Sersi in green and maybe Gilgamesh but the rest I just don't see. even before the movie, they were obscure.

Maybe Makari at best as far as the total Eternals characters, but we need the two to finish some major Avengers lineups.

I would have thought the best time to do the comic book Eternals, would be around when the movie was out (for me, movies and tv make no difference, but you know how hasbo can be sometimes). Then again, maybe because it tanked so bad, it left a sour taste in the exec's mouths....at any rate, at least Ikaris, Sersi in her emerald one piece, Makkari and maybe Kro.

I have no idea who Dr. Druid even is!

This guy?
Just read a bit about him. Seems like he was sort of the origin of Doctor Strange..or at least Dr. Strange came out of this character. Stan Lee said he forgot about him. But the name Dr. Anthony Droom does sound similar to Dr. Doom, so they changed his name to Dr. Anthony Druid.

Also see you like WoW. Can't wait for Midnight myself where I ironically main a "Druid" Lmao.

But I hope one day Marvel brings back Mantra too. But that's a whole other can of worms.

Until recently Strange was a Defender and never really joined the Avengers. Dr Druid was their mystic in the late 80s early 90s. I started collecting Legends with the express goal of making every Avengers lineup, and here we are 25 yrs later still trying, lol! So he's on my needs list, but also my "probably never gonna get" list.

The way Marvel are hyping him. I think he's doing a back up strip in Avengers 800 but will be returning back to Marvel as a writer, but probably not Avengers.

Still not happy he's back.

Couldn't agree more. His ego (and consistently late issues full of thinly drawn characters and paint-drying dull storylines) put a nail in his Legion relaunch for DC before it even stretched its legs. I was truly hoping we'd seen the last of his over-hyped work.

I really did love Bendis as teenage reader in early 2000s, his Daredevil, Ultimate Spider-Man, New Avengers are my to go books when I want to revisit that era, imo last genuinely good comic book era when comics peaked.

Even today I think most of his old stuff holds up for what it is but even then he had weird inconsistencies in quality, not even mentioning lore inconsistencies even in his own non shared books.

I suppose his creativity juice run out which was really apparent in Civil War II that was horrible event no matter how you think about it, so now when I see his name always mixed feelings. I hope for the best though.

He did some good stuff, Ultimate Spider-Man and Pre Civil War, New Avengers. But I can't forgive him for Dissembled and House of M, and his later Avengers stuff became very repetitive
