Eyebrows or not, she made out much better than poor Phoenix Jean Gray.

Im enjoying these "mash- up" waves Hasbro has been giving us lately. I Especially liked the two mini comic waves for the variety and this wave feels very much in the same vein. And BOX is a perfect BAF for this wave.. Hopefully Hasbro gets back to what made the best BAFS, namely deep dives.

For the characters:

U.S. Agent: i have a love / hate thing with this era of this team. The WCA was my favorite book at the time of its cancelation but Force Works was still very much my team, just with terrible costumes. I mean  Agent, Scarlet Witch and Wonderman had some of the most phoned in suits I've ever seen. But... I did have the Toybiz 5" version  that this Agent figure is updating.  Not the biggest fan, and I cant belive Im saying i wish this had been the "Judge Dredd" inspired look Agent wore for a time. 

Marrina: one more Reserve Avenger off the list! And so cool to complete Alpha Flight ( along with BOX, and maybe if they ever make a Talisman figure.., I can call this team done)

Reyes Ghost Rider: one more Avenger to add. Im not too torn up that we didnt get the car, it was cool (cough*overpriced*) but if im being honest, i had no where to display it. So Robbie gets added to my later Avengers lineup sans car.

Dark Hawkeye: so glad they didnt just repaint an already made Hawkeye figure. The Dark Avengers are shaping up nicely. 

Psylocke: great suit from the only era I collected XMen regularly. Ill grab for my personal nostalgia. 

Lady Deadpool: only need for the BOX piece. But I suppose its a nice update.

Ultimate Wolverine: is this guy from the most recent Ultimate rehash?  Is this even Logan? Ill grab on clearance or sale 

BOX: amazing choice! Another version of a character that holds a special place for me as I was collecting Alpha Flight during this version. And I continue to be amazed with Hasbro’s engineering. Making a large, boxy character as articulated is a absolute feat... and something Hasbro is distancing themselves from the competition with how well designed their larger characters have become.

Rival stuff is not for me. Hate the designs so easy pass

I also really like the mash-up waves...so many great choices!!

I loved the Byrne era ALPHA FLIGHT! So incredibly good!  I'm curious if a new Wildchild, Talisman and Diamond Lil are coming eventually??

Id also like to see the alternate costume and hair cut Aurora wore for awhile. 

I for one love the Box BAF...im wonderingif they will release it in Blue down the line..

I hope fans get the newer version they want eventually.  

I myself, am now hoping for a First appearance Psylocke to complete the post Mutant Massacre team before they hit the Outback. Speakung of rhe Outback team...I'm now hoping for a shirtless Colossus and Gateway eventually. They coukd go a little sitting Gateway with joints at the neck and shoulders and Id be fine with that.I would also like a Magneto from the time he was with the X-men briefly and a Phoenix costumed Rachel Summers.

Good stuff all the way around and 3 off of my wish list!!!

I’m over the moon to finally have Robbie after the Haslab fiasco.

Bullseye as Hawkeye looks great. So with him, Iron Patriot, Wolverine, Ms. Marvel/Warbird, Marvel Boy, Sentry and Spider-Man (albeit not Mac Gargan), we have pretty much the entire Dark Avengers. An updated Ares is the only one still missing, but Dan seemed to hint he’s in the works.

 

Also happy to have a Luna Snow.

Ahhhh I didn't want to go too far afield but you bring up villains and I just had to add! Frightful Four (Sandman in his green armor suit), the Wrecking Crew, Nightshade, Tigershark, Viper/ Madam Hydra, Firebrand, Mr. Hyde, Equinox, M.A.U.L.E.R, Nekra, the Mandarin (classic), Gladiator, Whirlwind (classic).....I could go on but they have SO many they could use and just seem to neglect!

Really stoked the MARRINA is on the way, but really think that a MADDISON  JEFFRIES BOX would be so much cool and attractive to buyers. I would have bought the whole (and unnecessary to me) wave for that one.

He really holds up! I use the Walgreens one with the harness off of him and put an alternate head on him. He looks almost perfect for a first app/early days Frank.

Glad to see Alpha Flight getting some love, about time! But I got to say the rivals are definitely not my cup of tea. These looks are way too cartoony and exaggerated. Frank looks like gears of war Frank ,and if you like this good for you, but the old man in me will never buy these.

Yeah the more I see these Rivals figures I feel like I might just not see a place for them in my collection, other then Luna Snow simply for the fact she's a new character, I love her, and she can fit in as a comic version, but I was kinda into Venom/Jeff and Moon Knight, Moonie simply because I consider myself a Moon Knight Legends completist, but the more I see Venom the more I'm kinda out (and I'm pretty much a Symbiote completist), Moon Knight as well...like these are not my iterations of these characters and just look very specific and as you say cartoony, I'm kinda thinking I might just pass on em all except Luna & (ugh) a Spider-Man I don't want.

I've said it a zillion times, it was a ball drop to not continue giving us at least 1 dedicated Villains wave a year, I know the first wave was clearanced, but that was because they kinda failed the mission by putting in some real question mark figures..like another unnecessary for the time Doom, AIM Supreme, a Stank booty Hood figure that was hated instantly, and goofy dork Arcade, like...you could have done better for the first and only villains wave, like Mandarin? Mordo? Gravitron? I dunno..not like there isn't a stack of super intergral villains. Hasbuadz just doesn't know what to do with Villains.... case in point this new wave doesn't technically have a villain in it, you could argue DA Hawkeye is...but he's not..because he's playing a "good guy" , like ugh come on the Iron Man wave recently didn't even have Mandarin, Crimson Dynamo...Every wave should be 50/50 3 good guys 3 bad guys...Just my 2 cents.

there really is no excuse anymore, villains don't sell, because this is a collectors, and yes they do, just not when you think people know who Spymaster is...I mean I do and love it for me, but be real..you knew the Hood wasn't going to because you botched that...like huh?

Other than that… I’m kinda feeling Venom and Jeff… MoonKnight’s cape looks sick… I want something like that for my MUC Moon Knight.

Budget’s tight so as much as I’d like Lady D and Robbie Reyes I’ll probably pass… specially consideritng the BaF pass

I really wish Spidey was better articulated because he looks great, all the sculpting is top notch. Guess he'll be relegated to vanilla poses because that tiny ab crunch and very limited butterflies are not gonna do anything for him lol.

Also maybe this is just my leftover hype from Kpop Demon Hunters talking but Luna looks awesome! I have no idea if she's a comic character or Rivals original but having a kpop star Marvel character is pretty sweet ngl

I agree...but the last few waves have dropped earlier than expected  so heres to hoping the wait wont be so long.

I ordered Lady Deadpool and Psylocke.

I should have given more thought to buying the loose versions from Nerdzoic. I'm just going to toss the BAF pieces if I open the figures. But I only open about 10% of what I buy, so I guess I want the boxes.

Throw those BAF pieces on Ebay..someone needs them I assure you. Plus it might help with the cost of the figures.

Got my preorder in for the Box BAF wave in on Amazon... except for Ultimate Wolverine... the release date is August 1st but knowing Amazon it will more than likely arrive at LEAST 2 weeks early...I'm only going to keep Dark Avengers Hawkeye & Robbie Reyes...Im gonna sell off everything else..

I know I must MUST build Box, but I wasn't sure if every figure was day 1 priority, Marrina, Psylocke & Robbie were day 1 material, but I said whatever and wasn't going to doink around and Just went for the wave (minus wolvie), I don't even play anymore I just pay for the entire thing up front now, so I can waltz away and not even care...money already spent, I'll just wait for the package.

Wolverine is a probably get later on down the road kinda figure, I want to think he might see a price decrease.

I usually throw them up on eBay. But I've found unless you get the figure first or very early, no one buys them for anything other than a few dollars.  The only BAF piece I've successfully sold for more than $5 is the one that came with Enchantress and that's because I got her really early. Maybe this new 27.99 price point will "help".

I actually was a bit worried about Lady DeadPool selling out early. Any GR can be an issue too. And Psylocke is gonna sell out, I assume. Although with all the comments of people confused about why people want this non ninja version, maybe not. And you just never know with US Agent. Marrina is probably gonna be the peg warmer, but I didn't care either, just ordered.
