Kit Connor And Samara Weaving Picked For Upcoming Marvel Studios X-Men Movie

According to Deadline, Marvel maintained a discreet approach regarding the news during the San Diego Comic Convention. However, director Jake Schreier and Marvel president Kevin Feige have screened numerous actors, ultimately choosing Samara Weaving for the role of Emma Frost and Kit Connor as Cyclops in the upcoming untitled X-Men film.

The selection of these two actors followed a series of meetings and auditions over the past few months; sources indicate that a select group of actors auditioned after the July 4 holiday.

Speculation about a new X-Men film began to emerge when Schreier was appointed as director last spring, which was subsequently followed by the hiring of Beef creator Lee Sung Jin and The Bear co-creator Joanna Calo to write the script.

The person they cast for Jean is solid, Kit is a great choice for Cyclops. Both very young meaning you're going to get some mileage out them. I don't get the Samara casting. She's 35 so are we going to have a few mutants that at 30+? I guess we'll get answers as to their existence in the films but personally I would tie it to the snap. Not a 'Somehow Palpatine returned' as in they always existed

It is a bit weird to intro her right away with the first class having Cyke being young and her 35. In the comics, not sure exact ages, but when she was introduced he was leading the new team and came of as a late 20s early 30s while she was a little older and in the Hellfire Club. The eventual romance is gonna come off as way more of a Cougar thing now. That being said, I don't care and she for sure looks the part!

There always were Mutants like Wolverine and Magneto who were much older than the original teen team. Hell Apocalypse is from Ancient Egypt. So not sure why we'll have to explain why their are Mutants period. I mean, Namor already is one in the MCU and predates the blip. Maybe sort of a very few have always been here but with an explanation of why there is a new boom of them. Which I agree could easily be tied to the blip. Either the gamma energy of the gauntlet "going off" on Earth, or maybe the drastic lessening of the human population pushing evolution harder. Or even the people brought back into existence inadvertently had their DNA changed a bit. Idk. But ultimately this can all be explained in a minute of exposition by Prof X or Mr Sinister.

I find this offensive TBH, and borders on body shaming, an uncouth comment. SMH, please be better in the future and refrain from comments regarding women's bodys, this isn't the place. 

Honestly I don't know anything about Kit Connor, but from what I can see he seems like he has potential to look the part, Samara Weaving is great and I think she seems like a great choice for Emma, she has range.

I would have loved if it didn't seem like Day 1 as soon as Brand New Day came out, the internet wasn't spoiling Sadie is Jean, I'm going to assume she is, I hate that I have not seen Spider-Man yet, so I can't confirm, but it drives me wild when I can't even wait a week or 2 after a movie comes out not to have the internet splatter spoils all over.

as for this Kit kid being younger then Samara..I mean whatever, people act like older actors don't play younger or vice versa, and Also Emma was older in the books, who knows what ages any of these characters are going to be.

Are you kidding me? Let's remember that comics also have some unrealistic expectations about the characters, like Cyclopes being called slim, when obviously in the comics is not. Samara is a good actress and has the right amount of sex appeal to play the part.
