I'm gonna need that Christmas Spidey! That's just fun!

Very glad this was Mini Comic instead of baf. Gonna need the Elektra for sure. She is one of my top needs for re dos. The last one has the horrid legs and the barely poseable arms. Doesn't really work for cool poses on such a dynamic character. I'll probably get the new Hawkeye assuming it's a huge upgrade over the Bucky Cap molded last one. And I'll possibly leave it at that. If the Elsa really is better I might grab her. But new legs isn't quite enough. Glad anyone who didn't get the A Force set can finally get her, but also glad I'm not forced into getting a new one for a baf peice.

Bit of a small reveal which was expected since they have NYCC coming up  and this is to keep us going until then. But here is my usual list (feel free to use it)

  • Chirstmas Spider-man: Love it. Will be getting it and using it as a decoration.
  • the Spider-man Retro: I already have Smythe and Aunt May and have no interest in the MJ. Will be getting the Carnage for that awesome card back. Hopefully we will get the rest of the family on it. Please.
  • Elsa, - Nice to have an update for her that isn't bow legged
  • Earth-X Cap - I haven't read Earth-X but this is iconic to me
  • Acroyear- Was going to get this regardless of where is was in
  • Elektra- Nice. an update we really needed.
  • Hawkeye - I'm surprise it took them this long to get to this (or back to this, I don't know if this is considered a remake or not)
  • Doom Spidey -  the instant I saw the suit in the comics, I said to myself, Yep. I need that suit. It was made to be a toy. Plus it's another figure for my Magic shelf.
  • and obviously the web tease is some kind of Spidey figure.

Okay wow, Leaaak! LOL

anyways here's my thoughts (thanks Tarot for the template)

  • Chirstmas Spider-man: Easy Pass, while it's cute and fun, I see no reason to get it, would have liked to see Christmas Mary Jane to go along with this.
  • the Spider-man Retro: The only figure here I want is Smythe, and that's because it's a character I don't have, I was wishing that one day we'd get a Comic figure, but with this re-release it seems like that might not be any time soon, the rest of the figures are easy passes, no Animated, The Carnage card looks amazing though, but I don't need a Carnage, I do hope this means we can get some more Maximum Carnage on this card, Carrion please! and a Doppelgang re-do on that Dark Avengers Spider-Man build.
  • Elsa, - I don't think I need this, I have an Elsa, sure maybe her issues from the previous figure are fixed, I.E. the warping legs, but I just don't think at this point I care enough.
  • Earth-X Cap - dookie juice to me, I hate this look, pass
  • Acroyear- This is the MUST have figure of this wave
  • Elektra- this looks to be a pretty nice update from what I can see, but how much better? I need to see more, I might be in the market for an update
  • Hawkeye - I really don't care about the Fraction Hawkeye, looks decent though, but pass
  • Doom Spidey -  I mean I guess it looks cool, but I have no idea what it's about, and I don't need a random spidey, reminds me of Iron Man Mark LXII

as it stands I only for sure 2 of these figures for me, and even then I only really want Acroyear, Smythe..Fine he passes enough as comic I can deal, Eleketra maybe...very maybe.

Since it leaked out early, looks like Hasbro has gone on and made today's Marvel Legends Fanstream available early.

The Avengers Doomsday Marvel Legends Walmart Exclusive Fantastic Four figures we saw during SDCC will be going up for purchase on the Walmart website and stores starting October 1.

NYCC will likely see some more Avengers: Doomsday reveals at NYCC.

The next Mini-Comic wave will feature Elsa Bloodstone, Earth X Captain America, Magical Suit Spider-Man, Modern Hawkeye, Elektra and Acroyear (Micronauts). We saw some of these figures announced during the Hasbro SDCC panel in July. This wave will be released as a Fan-Channel/Amazon release on October 6th at 1pm ET.

Retro Spider-Man cardback wave with Mary Jane, Aunt May, Maximum Carnage and Smythe.these are all re-issues of some kind mostly from the VHS Pulse line. This wave will be a Fan-Channel release going up for pre-order at 1pm ET on September 29.

These will be available at places like our sponsors:

• BigBadToyStore
• Entertainment Earth
• Nerdzoic
• Amazon

They showed off a new Holiday themed Christmas Santa Spidey figure. Will come with two mini-figures.

These teased a new web accessory piece. Looks like it fits around a figure neck so to replicate Spidey webbing someone's face. Not sure if it will come with a Spider-Man figure or another character.

More reveals coming during NYCC next month.

I'm not into the holiday themed releases, but this Christmas Spidey is looking really cool. I bet he'd look great as a decoration on a Christmas tree.

Well I actually watched the video, guess they figured why wait an hour or two.

That web is a Spider character, but the wrist hole is very big. Probably not just another Spidey. Man Spider would be cool. Maybe Spider Hulk or even RekRap.

And yes, I need Elektra for sure. And not sure what I was goin on about...that Hawkeye is a must!! Love that beat up head and the arrow in his mouth. I didn't see those in the little pictures before. I might fold and get the Magic Spidey cause I actually liked that story a lot. But I'm trying to be strong lately....and failing. But I've said this before and ended up.getting the whole mini comic wave.

The accessory looks like webbing that would go over someone's face? Sounds like a BND Punisher figure is incoming.

Yeah, looking again, that would make sense. But, why the two holes right next to eachother like that.

Hard to believe people aren't more excited about Earth X Captain America. He's been on my want list for a LONG time.

I like it too but for some people, unless we're getting more Earth-X figures, he's really a standalone and might not fit into certain collections.

well, let's be fair, he is the MAIN character of the entire universe. It would be weird if we didn't get him first.

Upon closer inspection it looks like I feel confident I can skip Elektra, sure she's a bit better, I mean no pins (from what I can see), but is she really better in the face department, I don't even think she is, this face is kinda meh., or body for that matter, I already have an Elektra I didn't hate so, and Elsa yeah I think I can skip, my figure still looks good to me, I'm just really trying to steer away from buying characters I have at this point, I don't care if it has pins or doesn't, or this and that, you gotta draw the line somewhere. I'm just not made of money, I can't keep playing the update game.

It's really all about Acroyear, that's the must have, I probably will get Smythe since he's the only version of the character we seem to be getting and I need him , but I just really wish we could get a comic version, and I'm done waiting for that, it doesn't look like it's happening, but ugh the animated series had the stupidest Guile hair..lIke bruv.

  • Chirstmas Spider-man: I'm a sucker for good holiday themed figures so Spidey is a must. He can go harass the Holiday Edition Star Wars figures and that McFarlane Santa Batman. We do definitely need Mrs. Claus MJ to compliment him next year.
  • the Spider-man Retro: Having missed the Smythe/polo shirt Peter 2-pack, I'm very glad they're getting Smythe out there again - need him for my Spidey villains. Fingers crossed that TAS Vulture gets the same treatment before long. Don't think I'll be upgrading my existing May for just a purse and magazine and MJ for a rose, newspaper and less vibrant color scheme but glad to see they'll be out there for those that don't have them already.
  • Elsa - If she turns up cheap, I might upgrade, but it's such a small upgrade, she's definitely not a priority.
  • Earth-X Cap - Looks good, but I'm not super jazzed about it. Will get, but lower priority.
  • Acroyear- I find it fascinating to think that there is now a non-zero chance of competing the Micronauts in Marvel Legends before the classic Thunderbolts crew. Figure looks great and it's nice to see the 'Nauts be brought into the fold. Just a fun looking toy and I am all in favor of that.
  • Elektra - Again, good upgrade, but I'm not that excited since it's just more of the same of her - it's a classic look, but we've had it so many times before that this is just another incremental improvement rather than a big leap ahead or a vastly different look. I think that expression could have used some work though.
  • Hawkeye - Nice revisit and some clear improvements there, but I find myself more interested in this than much of the rest of the wave.
  • Doom Spidey - Not familiar with the look and I'm honestly not a big fan of the design, but Spidey variants are a given so it's nice to see a new look rather than the umpteenth symbiote suit release!

The comic book figures  continue to be some of the quirkiest and fun waves Hasbro puts out. Still not a huge fan of the actual comic accessories,  but the figure choices have consistently been inspired...

Ive said it before, these comic waves remind me of the good ol days when Toybiz regularly put out waves from every corner of the Marvel U..

This time around, ill likely only pre-order Elektra as the previous waves have all been easy to acquire..

Im curious what the Santa Spidey will run. This feels like a $10 markup at least. ( pretty sure the Valentines Iron Man was about that)

No interest in the Spidey animated stuff but its cool that they are getting reissued..

Ugh... I was waiting for new Elektra for soo long, she was my top wanted remake, and we finally get seemingly decent Elektra, super articulated torso, sculpted wraps on arms but painted on wraps on legs are sooo disappointing, it literally ruined my day.

It's been years of waiting and we get almost decent Elektra and they still cheap out on sculpting stripes on the legs, I would rather have Psylocke legs with X wraps than this, it's insulting when other characters get brand new sculpts and one of the top female characters from Marvel can't get brand new legs... if someone deserved budget it was her.

Hopefully they'll announce some more Starjammers figures.

Exactly. While I'm overjoyed to see Acroyear, I fear this is just another figure that's part of a team, that won't be completed for literally years, if ever. Corsair and Cho'd came out 3 years ago, they only need Raza and Hepzibah (yeah that's better than how they've done the Guardians of the Galaxy- Yondu came out about 3 years ago, but Vance Astro was, what, 10 years prior? And really needs an update to be in line with Yondu).

I'm having a big issue with this lately.  Moon Knight- a character with his own comic, tons of memes, tons of recognition- gets reuse and cheaped out on over and over.  Meanwhile, MCU and totally obscure barely Marvel characters are getting all new sculpts and the money in the wave is going to them.  Not hating on ROM and Acroyear or anything, and not sure how you don't give them new tooling, but bigger name characters deserve better.  This is also the given reason we can't get Asgardians, and well, I think the team just doesn't like them.

This is my biggest problem lately.  I should have been so excited to finish Alpha Flight! Then I got out the team to set up....They suck.  Aurora and Northstar are complete trash that can't stand and barely pose.  The rest are OKish at best.  So, now what? We wait till we're 80 for the updates?  It's really taking the steam out of my enjoyment here.  They need to focus on an era or team every year and knock it out.  This idea that we will just stop collecting cause the 70's Avengers are done is ridiculous.

This is a huge issue, and it's even more noticeable now a days, with the leaps in technology, for the most part, You do a whole bunch of characters for a team 10 years ago, and now start to finish them, they are going to look incoherent, I had the same problem with Alpha Flight, when I went recently to happily pop in my new Marrina, it stood out and looked like two different companies made the figures, why because we waited 6 and change years for them to finally give us that figure, Hasbro isn't going to change it's ways, half of it's a scheme, they always want you buying, buying, waiting, if they give you a whole team in one go, You might just be done, maybe that's your favourite team, But if I make you wait around for 6 years, you will keep checking and waiting for the character you want and likely fall into buying more, and then once you see how crumpled your display looks, you'll throw your hands up and have to buy the updates, which will take them 15 years to complete.,

same concept with any products, There is always a new better Shampoo or face cream, every month, Oh it does this now, it didn't do that 4 years ago...Well BUY more, buy it now, what you have stinks.

Is Elektra a new sculpt?

i mean it seems to be, It's not the same figure as before, torso, arms, pinless, I'm not convinced until someone says so that it actually has better articulation then the previous one though.

-----------------------------

Also hear me out could that Web piece tease be for, Earth X Spiders-Man? or if not...I got one more the Spider-Man suit Venom?

It's not a brand new sculpt, just the new fully articulated one they used for the likes of the Phoenix, Lady Deadpool, Psylocke etc.

Yeah, so the Elektra will now have the ab crunch along with the torso pivot. The arms have double jointed elbows, butterflies, and bicep swivels. We are doubling the articulation in the arms and torso.  The legs also have double jointed knees along with the thigh cut and calf cut. This super poeable body is pretty awesome for Black Widow.  There is no way this isn't an upgrade. The last one is pretty sorry. The arms have just shoulder, single elbow and wrist. I have her fighting Shuma Gorath with the Savage Avengers right now, and she looks pretty stiff.  I Do hope the head is interchangeable, cause the new face isn't perfect. I might like the old face better. I'll agree with the comments that an angry or yelling face is needed for this character. If Elsa were on this body type, I'd be picking her up too.

Edit: looking again, there is no calf cut.
