Stan Lee Dies At Age 95 - RIP Stan
logandelanoche replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
I just heard this. And it hangs like a lead weight from my heart. I salute him for his service to our country, our culture, and imagination. He leaves a legacy that is... unmatched, really. He raised the hearts and spirits of so many, and will continue to do so even after his passing. Excelsior, indeed. -
I finally managed to score this two-pack yesterday. At first I wanted to get two two-packs, but I’m actually happy with just the one, but that’s not a knock against how much I like it. I think the black gloves on the standard AIM goon looks better than the yellow on the first release. I really like this buck and I’m still surprised Hasbro hasn’t used it for a Red Skull yet. But, that’s an accepted inevitability right? The guns were everything I expected to come in the pack with “AIM” written all over everything because of course a group of egotistical scientists would do that lol The accessories that really excited me were the backpack and (as simple as they are and as silly as it sounds) the shoulder straps. I was so happy that they included two because my Wolf Cap needed something better than those loose fiddly things he came with. My only disappointment was with the Scourge head they included. It just doesn’t say AIM to me. I know this is all about parts re-use, but if I could have my pick of existing head sculpts to use for generic troopers, I have went with the Boomerang head. It’s juuuuuust generic enough to work. I just can’t use the Paladin head on the shock troop body because then it’s just Paladin in yellow lol but it works okay on the AIM goon because it looks like something he might be wearing under his bee-keeper hood, redundant visors and all lol

So I placed an order with Megaopolis on Wednesday (my very first!) and look at what arrived today! And that was with the cheapest shipping option. These dudes don’t mess around, man. They even sent me a photo of the box going out when they mailed it. I opened the box and they included some stickers and a little Overlord squishy aaaaaaand the box within the box was well protected by an army of packing peanuts. I could not be happier with them based on this first purchase and would gladly recommend them! And (duh) I’ll be buying from them again. PS The packing peanuts are the kind that dissolve when wet, so if you aren’t going to reuse them, they’re easy to be rid of.

Marvel Legends Archangel Figure Video Review & Images
logandelanoche replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
I love the shine on his wings! They plug securely into his back so you can hold him by the wings as you whoosh him around the room and he doesn’t fall off, and vice-versa. This is the only Archangel I have so I have no basis of comparison unless you count the toybiz one from waaaaaaaay back before marvel legends. Haha, now I have someone who can go toe to toe with Sauron for supremacy of the skies! The only thing I may tweak is painting up a pair of flat open hands if I can find some. Cuz, you know, he doesn’t have enough accessories already lol- 73 replies

I hereby dub this costume Pepsi Spider-Man lol I’m digging this costume design and wish I had a PS4 so I could play it. I’m curious about their decision to use the Spider UK head with the wider jaw. Is it because the regular spidey head doesn’t fit or would he maybe just look like a pinhead? The new web lines that are coming with the new spider toys are a great new addition. I’ll be picking this up if I can find him in the wild.

I’m not sure what you’re asking, but the clawed feet came from the old Toybiz X-23 from the Apocalypse wave. They’re hinged at the toe so they can fold under. I wish claws like these had been included on the new X-23/Wolverine/Laura Kinney figures.

Wow! That’s a really great idea for Apocalypse! Also, don’t be mad if Hasbro steals your idea too lol I just placed my first order with Megalopolis yesterday and I should be getting the Apocalypse wave tomorrow. I’ll have to give this a shot once I put him together. So, once En Saba Nur is complete I’ll have yet another reason to get that Archangel, as if there weren’t plenty already. I haven’t had any luck finding him in the wild so he may be my next purchase (along with some AIM soldiers) when I need another (plastic) fix.- 73 replies

They were thinking they haven’t gotten much mileage out of that Hellcat figure lol I really do wish she had more flexibility in the torso. I could be completely wrong, but I think the traditional ab crunch could work with a female torso. I’d like to see more articulation parity in general, especially with some of the more acrobatic wimmens

Well I'm certainly interested to see how this pans out. I can't say I'm surprised to see them creating a Deadpool for all ages as they cash in on his popularity. Batman is a classic example of a character's popularity and appeal allowing them to become... transcendent, so to speak. Harley Quinn is a similar more contemporary example. They may have telegraphed this move with the storybook the included with the Target release of the Blu-Ray. In any event I won't be forking over my money to see it, but I'll be interested to see how people with children and families receive it, especially if they're already big Deadpool fans. Haha, back in the 80's they figured out that you had to get 'em young. Then they learned to wield the power of nostalgia. Now they've learned that they can do both and will be unstoppable even as parents indoctrinate their young, unaware of the cycle in which they partake. We're all doomed, I tells ya, DOOOOOOOOMED!!!

Favorite Marvel Legend of the year so far!
logandelanoche replied to eeron123's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
There are still more that I need to get :P but I was very pleased with the new Doctor Octopus. Omega Red shook me up with his butterfly joints and interchangeable tentacles. I only bought Lady Deadpool for the BAF piece but her sleek design and excellent joint tolerances turned her into a decidedly solid keeper. Speaking of which, Sauron is easily the best BAF of the year. I've thoroughly enjoyed Shatterstar as well. Spider-Punk has been a great deal of fun. The two-pack movie Cap has the best head sculpt yet! I don't even need the body; the two head sculpts were with the price of admission.
