Topics I've Started

Welcome my little one!

14 December 2007 - 04:25 AM

Hi all!

I went in to hospital be induced on Tueday morning. At 9:58pm on 11th December Caed Brennon was born weighing 9lb 9oz, big and healthy, with an amazingly long umbilical cord (almost 2 meters long! ohmy.gif) and with a true knot in it! I think i did quite well, I was in labour for 4 hours 4 minutes, i had gas and air, pethadine and because it got so painful near the end i agreed to have an epidural which i would usually be totally against but after speaking to the anaesthetist i really wanted one.
Ive hardly slept at all since he was born, think ive had about 12 hours sleep in all since monday night but Caed is breast feeding on demand and hes doing really well. I was able to come home in the afternoon the next day.

Speak to you soon

Wish me luck peeps!

24 November 2007 - 06:01 AM

Yesterday (23rd November) my pregnancy took a turn for the worse. To cut a long story short the midwife came to see me and found that the baby is breech, ive got high bood pressure and oedema, and ive also got glucose(which means ive probably got gestational diabetes back again) On Wednesday ive got to go for an emergency scan to see how he is lying. If he is still breech i may have to go in for a c-section. Things are looking like i may also have pre-eclampsia with having high bp, headaches and swelling(oedema) which could be fatal if not taken care of.
So, wish me luck everyone cause i think i need it!! Will try keep you posted whatever happens.

Baby shower

27 September 2007 - 03:33 PM

Im thinking of having a baby shower maybe in November but have no idea what goes on at one. I know people buy you gifts for the baby (yey!) but what else happens? Its all new to the UK so any tips and ideas would be great. Im also going to get my brother to do a belly cast of my bump over the next few weeks and when its finished i'll post pics wink.gif

Im on crutches...

13 September 2007 - 05:06 AM

So, ive been in agony for about 2 months now with SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction)
You can read up on it here...

A few of you already know, ive been struggling to walk and get about since i was around 18 weeks pregnant. I saw a doctor with the pain about 4 weeks ago and she gave me painkillers and refered me to the physio department. Anyway, i only just got an appointment through to see her this morning. Basically theres nothing they can do physiotherapy wise but shes supplied me with a pair of crutches to get about on. I suffered with SPD during my last pregnancy and managed with just a support belt but that was nothing compared to this time, and its only going to get worse as the baby grows sad.gif Just hope it goes fast after the birth.

Collecting toys for our kids.

11 September 2007 - 03:31 AM

Just wondering, people that collect toys who also have kids, do you find yourself buying collections for your kids? I was going to post this in the What Do You Collect topic, but figured it should be started as a new topic.
My lad wants the new Transformers (from the movie) for xmas and Santa will be getting a couple of them (cant believe how much they are!) and then my daughter collects MLP and has recently gone onto those Bratz dolls (that i hate). When i was little, my family got me MLP, Keypers, Strawberry shortcakes, Gem dolls (to name a few) and my brothers had Thundercats, He-Man, Transformers, TMNT (to name a few again) Could all of this toy collecting be hereditary or just that we want to rekindle our childhood memories of toys through our kids?
