  1. Man, I thought they'd switch from petroleum based plastic to vegetable based plastic, not eliminate it all together. Gonna be a banner year for scumbag figure swappers and secondary market scam artists...

  2. Every time I see a new release posted, it's 10% more than the previous time. Seriously, for the past year. Why are these 150% the price they were just ONE year ago? I thought the $22.99 was supposed to be the price hike. Not the first of three...

  3. The time has come, the dark days of collecting are upon us, the death of in box collectors, and the great deluge of figure swapping, wacked out decos, missing parts, straight up thievery, Yay Environment, Boo collectors. in order for this to work and not become a horror story for many of us they are really going to have to find a way to keep theft and swapping out of all of this, also gonna have to be real QC hounds at Hasbro. I can see all of this backfiring really quickly, the complaint department is going to need to hire quick, both at Hasbro and on Store level once these boxes hit the shelves. I'm sure there are devious minds frothing at the mouth right now, rubbing their sinister hands together, plotting. - this guy looking in the target window. also I shall wave goodbye to In-Box collecting.... because now you might as well just collect empty boxes.

  4. I hear you, and its the kind of thing that makes me back off of it. Also the overly inflated prices for sub-standard work, not to mention the notion that "we won't do this/that because it may offend people who don't even buy our product" as opposed to doing what the collectors (actual consumers) want. Its just an overall vibe of disregard for the fans. Far as exclusives go, it does look like walgreens at least is starting to get its act together....so thats some light at the end of the tunnel....

  5. I agree that Toad has become this amorphous, directionless character, with powers and personality that suit the whims of whoever happens to be telling the story. And, sure, I guess that began with this version, but Toad was super lame in the 60s--he had lame powers, a lame look, and barely had any personality--and then he barely existed at all in the 70s and 80s. I'm no fan of Liefeld's art, but I actually loved the look of his Brotherhood, and the stories running throughout those early X-Force books were decent, despite the art. I went back and re-read some of them a few months ago, and was honestly surprised how well they held up. That run was when Toad actually became a character with agency, motives, and powers that explained why Magneto might ever have given him the time of day, let alone hired him. And as for that early Toy Biz figure? I'm sorry, what era was that supposed to be from? You seem pretty sure it's the 60s/70s/80s Toad, but I don't see any resemblance to that era or any other when I look at that figure. It's heavy-set, I guess? Otherwise, I'd say that's a weird approximation, based loosely on a number of different looks, but otherwise custom made to be toyetic. Toy Biz did a lot of those prior to Legends, and you already know that figure was shoe-horned in from an earlier cancelled line.

  6. They showed some great stuff today. The amazing fantasy Spiderman got me excited and the Knull/Winged Venom two pack is a pleasant surpirse for me. Knull looks more interesting than the renders and Venom looks pretty good too, which I didn't expect to like. The Lizard is another one that stood out for me. And yeah, the Peter/Ned two pack is also very tempting. I'm just afraid to check the prices now...lol

  7. Modernized? That's a straight-up 90s Toad, straight out of Liefeld's X-Force.
