  1. Jeff Ward’s character Deke Shaw, the scavenging grandson of Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) from a dystopian future timeline, will feature as a series regular in season 6. Ward revealed to sources that his character, last seen in the season 5 finale will return in the series’ next season. “I’m very excited, because all these people are incredible and very good at what they do,” Ward said during the interview, before joking that he rehearsed the statement — to which Ming-Na Wen, who plays Melinda May, then quipped: “Yeah, that was coming off really natural.” Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return in 2019. 2. Straight from its debut at San Diego Comic-Con, the new trailer for "The Gifted" Season 2 is here! Season 1 ended with Polaris (Emma Dumont) joining forces with Esme (Skyler Samuels) and her sisters, leaving the Mutant Underground and embracing a harsher ideology when it comes to mutants vs. humans - with Andy Strucker (Percy Hynes White) among those who decided to accompany them. Watch the new Season 2 trailer above to see Polaris' powers seemingly growing stronger, magnified by the influence of her unborn child. We also get our first new look at Inner Circle leader Reeva (Grace Byers), see Thunderbird (Blair Redford) lashing out, and glimpse a notable encounter between Andy and his sister, Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind), who chose to stay with the Mutant Underground. "The Gifted" Season 2 premieres Tuesday, September 25 on FOX. Check out the posters below, which were distributed at San Diego Comic-Con, each showing two "Gifted" characters overlapped.

  4. UPDATE: James Gunn has released a statement to Entertainment Weekly about his recent firing: “My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative. I have regretted them for many years since — not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.’ “Regardless of how much time has passed, I understand and accept the business decisions taken today. Even these many years later, I take full responsibility for the way I conducted myself then. All I can do now, beyond offering my sincere and heartfelt regret, is to be the best human being I can be: accepting, understanding, committed to equality, and far more thoughtful about my public statements and my obligations to our public discourse. To everyone inside my industry and beyond, I again offer my deepest apologies. Love to all.”
