  1. Hulu announced that its fan-favorite series Marvel's Runaways will return for its third and final season giving the fans what they've been waiting for. After evading corrupt parents, battling powerful aliens and coming face-to-face with the world's most powerful sorceress, the conclusion to this epic saga will leave no stone unturned. Marvel's Runaways will return on Friday, December 13th with all 10 episodes. In an action-packed Season 3, the Runaways frantically search for their captured friends Chase, Gert, and Karolina. The kids go head to head with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie -- or more accurately, the child she's carrying. Nico draws them all into a dark realm where its ruler Morgan le Fay, played by Elizabeth Hurley, is much more nefarious than anyone the kids have yet to face. The series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Kevin Wesiman, Brigid Brannagh, James Yaegashi, Brittany Ishibashi, Elizabeth Hurley and Clarissa Thibeaux. Marvel's Runaways is executive produced by series showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The O.C. and Gossip Girl), along with Jeph Loeb (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger) and Quinton Peeples. Marvel's Runaways is a co-production with ABC Signature Studios, part of Disney Television Studios. It is based on the Marvel comics created by the award winning-team of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona.
  2. Jeremy Slater has been picked to develop and lead the writing team on Moon Knight, the Disney+ series from Marvel Studios. Slater is credited for developing and writing the Netflix’s comic book adaptation Umbrella Academy series. This announcement comes after the news of Jessica Gao has been hired to develop and lead the writing team on She-Hulk, which is also a series from Marvel Studios for the Disney+ streaming service. Moon Knight is one of Marvel’s less clearly-defined characters, having had numerous series, mostly short-lived, and several origins, some with superpowers, some with none, since his first appearance in 1975’s Werewolf by Night #32. The hero is ostensibly Marc Spector, a mercenary who has numerous alter egos — cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant — in order to better fight the criminal underworld. But later he was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Most recently, he was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight. Gao won an Emmy for her work on Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. Gao is the first to be hired for creative development for a series since it was announced by Marvel head Kevin Feige at Disney’s D23 Fan Expo. She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gave Walters her powers but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out. The She-Hulk character was the last major character to be created by Stan Lee.

  6. In an unfortunate turn, Freeform has decided not to renew Marvel's Cloak & Dagger for a third season. This comes five months after the end of the second season and sources are reporting that options on the cast expired this week. The drama series debuted strong in 2018 and earned a second season renewal but soon afterwards, the series' ratings dropped almost -40% and never bounced back. “We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told,” Freeform told Deadline. “We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and are we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”
  7. We recently reported that Sony’s upcoming Venom sequel would include the Marvel Comics character called Shriek and Variety is now reporting that Naomie Harris is in talks for the role. Andy Serkis will direct the sequel with Tom Hardy returning as the titular anti-hero and Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson also reprising their roles. Feature credits for Harris include being nominated for an Academy Award for her role in 'Moonlight,' and is set to reprise her role as Eve Moneypenny in the new James Bond film 'No Time to Die.' 9. Two sources close to Sony’s upcoming Venom sequel have informed Deadline that the Marvel Comics character called Shriek has been added into the plot of the Venom sequel. Deadline spoke with a Sony spokesman who declined comment, citing the early-days status of the project, which won’t begin principle photography until early next year. The character of Shriek would be a smart choice as the sonic-powered accomplice and romantic interest of serial killer Cletus Kasaday, aka Carnage, the monstrous archenemy of Venom has a standing history in the pages of Marvel Comics. A drug dealer named Frances Barrison became the volatile Shriek after severe trauma allow her latent mutant powers to emerge. In the comics, those powers include sonic energy blasts, flight, and the ability to stir up dark and violent emotions in others. Carnage has been primary villain for the Venom sequel since a mid-credits preview scene that featured the uncredited Woody Harrelson as the menacing Kasaday from the first film. Shriek has been closely associated with Carnage since her introduction in Spider-Man Unlimited No. 1 (May 1993) as part of the "Maximum Carnage" saga. Casting is underway for the role of Shriek with the search expanding. “Right now the role is not filled, the net is cast wide toward many kinds of actresses,” one source said, adding that the filmmakers are “looking mostly at unknowns right now.” Venom 2 is schedule to hit theaters on October 2nd, 2020

  12. Have you ever met anyone, of any age, who inspired you to do better, be better, and strive for a better future? Finding young people who have made their own steps and forged their own paths towards the greater good was the first mission of Marvel's Hero Project -- the next mission was to give these real-life heroes the recognition and celebration they deserved. In Marvel's Hero Project, a new series streaming exclusively on Disney+ when it arrives on November 12, several extraordinary, inspiring kids got their time in the Super Hero spotlight for the work they've done in their communities across the country. Their causes are as diverse as they are, and on Marvel's Hero Project, Marvel comic editors found a way to tell their stories. In every episode, each outstanding kid will be surprised to find out that they've been immortalized in a Marvel Comic -- which will be available for free in Marvel Unlimited and the Marvel Digital Comics Store! -- as a brand new Super Hero, putting them among the ranks of the Marvel heroes they love. Marvel's Hero Project set out to prove that it doesn't take an iron suit, super strength, or a mythical hammer to be a hero -- just seeing a problem and having the passion to solve it in a creative way is what made these kids heroes. And now you will be able to see their stories and be inspired by them. Marvel's Hero Project premieres on November 12, streaming exclusively on Disney+. Pre-order it now on DisneyPlus.com.
  13. Deadline has confirmed that Hulu has decided not to proceed with Marvel's Ghost Rider, its planned live-action series starring Gabriel Luna. In May, Hulu picked up two new live-action series from Disney sibling Marvel Television, Ghost Rider and Helstrom, to premiere in 2020. It would appear that Hulu and the Ghost Rider team had reached a creative impasse which could not be resolved, leading to the streamer’s decision not to move forward with the series. Marvel’s Helstrom is still on track. Stephen Lightfoot serves as showrunner and executive producer with Paul Zbyszewski and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb for Marvel’s Ghost Rider. It is unclear whether the series will be shopped elsewhere. Luna played the antihero Ghost Rider when the character also known as Robbie Reyes was brought back to the Marvel Universe in 2016 on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Ghost Rider is consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. Reyes lives on the Texas-Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles to control the power he wields.
