  4. Disney+ and Marvel have tapped Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoym and Meera Menon to be part of the directing team for the Ms. Marvel series. Ms. Marvel hails from head writer Bisha K. Ali and centers on Kamala Khan, a Pakistani American teen. The New Jersey-based hero broke ground in 2014 as Marvel's first Muslim character to star in her own title, and she will become Marvel Studios' first onscreen Muslim hero. 5. Deadline is reporting that director Kat Coiro is in negotiations to direct and executive produce the pilot and several other episodes of Marvel’s She-Hulk series for Disney+. Writer Jessica Gao has already been tapped to lead the writers room. Gao is credited with the Rick and Morty series. The last major character to be co-created by Stan Lee, She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gave Walters her powers, but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out. Marvel's She-Hulk is just one of projects being developed for Disney+, with The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki all in production and set to bow in the next year. Coiro is credited with directing numerous TV shows including Netflix’s Dead To Me, Showtime’s Shameless and FX’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, along with Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Mozart in the Jungle.

Chandor (Margin Call, A Most Violent Year, Netflix’s Triple Frontier) are in talks for Kraven the Hunter, the latest film in the studio’s Universe of Marvel Characters. This news comes a day after Deadline reported about Olivia Wilde directing an untitled Marvel movie for Sony centered around the Spider-Woman character. Sony studio is expanding its catalog as they have recently set S.J. Clarkson to direct its untitled Madame Web film and the next installment in the Spider-Man franchise also begins shooting this winter. Venom 2 and Jared Leto’s Morbius are in production but have been postponed until 2021. The comic revolves around Sergei Kravinoff aka Kraven the Hunter, who is one of Spider-Man’s best known and most formidable enemies as well as the half-brother of the Chameleon. 9. You know it will get a quick home rental release because it has no hype or promos going for it. Sure, it's a X-Men type movie but so was Dark Phoenix and you saw how well that went over. Also, it's a new theater release but people still won't take the chance of going to the theater and catching covid-19 just for this movie... If I have to catch covid-19 in the theater than I want a 4 star movie that blows me away and I can say I spent 12 bucks to catch covid-19 and it was worth it.
  10. Variety has confirmed from sources that the Disney and Fox's superhero thriller, 'The New Mutants' will finally see an official theater release on August 28th. Tickets go on sale on August 18th. Disney has been bouncing the release for the movie since 2018 and it was expected the company would continue to postpone it or export the film to Disney Plus or Hulu. The movie was originally under 20th Century Fox, but went through numerous reshoots which changed the movies release date five times. “It’s for sure opening August 28th!” one exhibitor wrote to Variety. 'The New Mutants' will be the first new theatrical release from a major studio since the pandemic forced U.S. cinemas to close in March. Check to see if your local theater has reopened and will be showing the movie as only 1,309 of the 6,021 venues in the country have reopened, according to Comscore. This includes movie theaters in New York City and Los Angeles, which are still closed without a set date to reopen. Directed by Josh Boone, “The New Mutants” features an ensemble cast — including Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy and newcomer Blu Hunt — as young mutants trapped in a secret facility against their will. The movie is expected to be the final entry in the “X-Men” franchise, the 13-film series that stretched from 2000’s “X-Men” to 2019’s “Dark Phoenix.”
  11. Deadline is reporting that director Nia DaCosta has been tapped to direct the sequel to Captain Marvel. DaCosta is coming off helming the anticipated reboot of Candyman. DaCosta takes over the directing reigns from Anna Bodn and Ryan Fleck, who directed the first movie. The scripted was penned by Megan McDonnell, a story editor on the Marvel-based series WandaVision, with Brie Larson returning to star. The first Captain Marvel movie was released in March 2019 and grossed $1.13 billion worldwide. Disney and Marvel Studios had no comment.
