  1. Deadline is reporting that Noah Mills has signed on to cast of the Disney+ Marvel Studios series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Mills will be joining the series with Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Desmond Chiam and Miki Ishikawa. The series is a spinoff of the Captain America movies with Mackie and Stan reprising their roles as the Falcon and Bucky Barnes and is being directed by Kari Skogland Sources have revealed that Bruhl will reprise his role as Baron Zemo while VanCamp will return as Sharon Carter (aka Agent 13), and Russell will play John Walker who is also known in the comics as the fanatic Super Patriot. Specific details about the story as well as other roles are being kept tightly under wraps. Disney has declined to comment. The series, executive produced by Malcolm Spellman, is slated to premiere on Disney+ in August. Mills is credited with being a series regular role in The Enemy Within, which aired for one season on NBC, and he previously co-starred on NBC’s The Brave.
  2. Marvel TV and HULU unveiled casting today for "Marvel's M.O.D.O.K.," their previously announced animated series based on the popular Marvel comic book. Slated for debut in 2020, "Marvel's M.O.D.O.K." signals Marvel's first endeavor into animated comedy geared towards adults. In "Marvel's M.O.D.O.K.," the megalomaniacal supervillain M.O.D.O.K. (Patton Oswalt) has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth's mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. Ousted as A.I.M.'s leader, while also dealing with his crumbling marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing is set to confront his greatest challenge yet: a midlife crisis! Patton Oswalt ("A.P. Bio," "Veep," "Happy") as M.O.D.O.K. - After being ousted from both his evil organization and his family, super villain M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) must reinvent himself if he ever wants the chance to win back the things in his life that are most important... outside of conquering the world that is. M.O.D.O.K. is about to find out that super heroes are nothing compared to his newest challenge... a midlife crisis. Aimee Garcia ("Lucifer," "El Chicano," "Dexter") as Jodie - Jodie, M.O.D.O.K.'s wife and mother to his children, has had a late-in-life awakening -- excited to pursue her mommy-blog turned lifestyle-brand empire and discover who she is as an independent woman in her forties. There are just too many things to do in this world and not enough time to waste being held back by negativity. And unfortunately for M.O.D.O.K., the thing weighing her down the most... is him. Ben Schwartz ("Parks and Recreation," "House of Lies") as Lou - To be honest, M.O.D.O.K. doesn't really "get" his twelve-year-old son Lou. Not athletic enough to be a jock. Not smart enough to be a nerd. Lou is... well, Lou -- a kid who clearly marches to the beat of his own drum. Lou's lack of friends, ambition and hygiene is a constant worry for M.O.D.O.K., who often projects his own insecurities onto his overly confident son. Melissa Fumero ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine") as Melissa - Even with her father's "features," seventeen-year-old Melissa has risen the ranks to become the Heathers-like queen bee of her school and a star in the world of teen figure skating. Every popular kid either wants to date her or avoid her terrifying wrath. But for all of her success, Melissa secretly yearns for her father's approval. Wendi McLendon-Covey ("The Goldbergs," "Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar") as Monica Rappaccini - Monica is a brilliant mad-scientist at A.I.M. and M.O.D.O.K.'s rival at work. Clearly more competent and qualified than M.O.D.O.K., Monica believes she should be running the organization. After GRUMBL acquires A.I.M., Monica relishes in M.O.D.O.K.'s suffering until the new management begins to infringe on her ungodly experiments. With a common enemy in Austin, M.O.D.O.K. and Monica are finally able to put aside their differences and work together... when they aren't constantly betraying each other. Beck Bennet ("Saturday Night Live," "Bill & Ted Face The Music") as Austin Van Der Sleet - After M.O.D.O.K.'s evil organization A.I.M. is run into the ground, he's forced to sell it to silicon valley tech-giant GRUMBL. GRUMBL sends slick, twenty-something Austin as a "post-merger-integration-consultant" and M.O.D.O.K.'s new boss. Though M.O.D.O.K. wishes he could just zap Austin to the Negative Zone, M.O.D.O.K. must find new solutions to confront Austin's corporate jargon-speak and frequent mandatory HR meetings, if he's ever going to reclaim A.I.M. from Austin's grip. Jon Daly ("The Kroll Show," "Curb Your Enthusiasm") as Super Adaptoid - A snarky android with ambitions to live, feel and create, but is instead forced to spend his days massaging the hoverchair sores on his creator M.O.D.O.K.'s scalp. Although the Adaptoid dreams of overwriting his programming and turning on M.O.D.O.K., there is also a begrudging friendship between these two. Sam Richardson ("Veep," "Ghost Draft") as Gary - Gary is a henchman or "beekeeper" at A.I.M. who is fiercely loyal to his boss M.O.D.O.K., even if M.O.D.O.K. struggles to remember his name. As M.O.D.O.K. continues to get demoted within his own organization, Gary is there by his side, always offering his help and unshakeable optimism whether M.O.D.O.K. wants it or not. "I'm blown away by our insanely talented and hilarious voice cast, who have all brought their specific kind of magic to this weird and wonderful corner of the Marvel Universe," said series Executive Producer and Showrunner Jordan Blum. "Patton and Jordan have done a phenomenal job in laying the groundwork for this exceptional ensemble, we're thrilled to include this cast in the Marvel family," said Karim Zreik, SVP, Original Programming & Production - Marvel TV Studios.
  3. Due to the recent earthquakes, the Disney+ Marvel Studios series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has suspended filming from its Puerto Rico location. Sources have not confirmed if production will continue in the Puerto Rico location going forward; most likely elsewhere. Originally, a two-week production shoot was planned in Puerto Rico with cast and crew arriving tomorrow. Last Tuesday, the island of Puerto Rico was hit with a 6.4 magnitude earthquake in its Southern coast, reportedly the island’s biggest in a century. There was another earthquake on Saturday that shook the island with a reading of 5.9. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series is a spinoff from the Captain America movies with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles as the Falcon and Bucky Barnes. The series will reportedly debut in late 2020. Source: Deadline

  5. ABC is starting to shop around for another superhero series after Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to finish after its upcoming seventh season and the broadcast network is in talks again with Marvel. ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke told Deadline that she was looking forward to working with Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige, but said that they had not discussed which particular characters would be suitable for a broadcast show. “We love our partners at Marvel and we’re sad to see [Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D] go, it’s been a big part of our history. We’re looking forward to working with Kevin Feige and we’re at the very beginning of conversations with him now about what a Marvel and ABC show might look like. Right now, Marvel’s focus has been on Disney+, as it should be,” Burke told Deadline at the Winter TCA Press Tour. ABC was developing a new series with a Marvel female superhero, but those plans stalled. In 2018, ABC gave a production commitment to an untitled hourlong drama from Wonder Women writer Allan Heinberg, Marvel Television and ABC Studios. Written by Heinberg, it was about female characters with superpowers. But in classic Marvel tradition, few details were offered.
  6. Christian Bale is in talks to play an undisclosed character for Marvel’s Thor: Love & Thunder which stars Natalie Portman as the first female Thor. Variety is reporting that Feige was asked if the studio has any plans “on bringing more LGBT+ characters into the MCU, specifically the T, trans characters.” “Yes — absolutely, yes,” Feige said. “And very soon. In a movie that we’re shooting right now.” The Marvel Studios President's answer appeared to respond to the specific question about a trans character, two sources close to the studio tell Variety that Feige only intended to respond to the first part about LGBT+ characters, and he did not mean to imply that a trans character will be coming to the MCU “very soon.”
  8. Marvel is reporting that WandaVision is now slated to hit the Disney+ streaming service ahead of schedule in 2020. The new show was originally announced to be released in the Spring of 2021. WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, reprising their MCU roles as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision, respectively. Additionally, the series stars Teyonah Parris, who is playing the adult Monica Rambeau, along with Kat Dennings and Randall Park returning to their roles as Darcy and Jimmy Woo. They’ll all be joined by a brand new character, a “nosey neighbor,” played by Kathryn Hahn. Scheduled for the Fall of 2020 will be The Falcon and Winter Soldier, which stars Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/The Falcon) and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier), along with Daniel Brühl and Emily VanCamp reprising their roles as Baron Zemo and Sharon Carter, respectively. We’ll also meet a brand new character, John Walker, who will be played by Wyatt Russell.
  9. Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige revealed Wednesday during a New York Film Academy Q&A event that Marvel is looking to introduce its first transgender big-screen character and it will be in one of the feature films that has already begin filming. This answer came about when he was asked by an audience member asked if a transgender character would ever take flight in a Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure. “Yes, absolutely yes,” Feige responded. “And very soon. In a movie we’re shooting right now.” That could mean a film as soon as Black Widow this May or as far off as the first Black Panther sequel in May 2022. Black Widow is in post-production but the studio has been known of major last-moment additions. Other projects now shooting include The Eternals and lined up for next year: Destin Daniel Cretton’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Scott Derrikson’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love & Thunder. 11. Jeremy Slater has been picked to develop and lead the writing team on Moon Knight, the Disney+ series from Marvel Studios. Slater is credited for developing and writing the Netflix’s comic book adaptation Umbrella Academy series. This announcement comes after the news of Jessica Gao has been hired to develop and lead the writing team on She-Hulk, which is also a series from Marvel Studios for the Disney+ streaming service. Moon Knight is one of Marvel’s less clearly-defined characters, having had numerous series, mostly short-lived, and several origins, some with superpowers, some with none, since his first appearance in 1975’s Werewolf by Night #32. The hero is ostensibly Marc Spector, a mercenary who has numerous alter egos — cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant — in order to better fight the criminal underworld. But later he was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Most recently, he was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight. Gao won an Emmy for her work on Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. Gao is the first to be hired for creative development for a series since it was announced by Marvel head Kevin Feige at Disney’s D23 Fan Expo. She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gave Walters her powers but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out. The She-Hulk character was the last major character to be created by Stan Lee.

Rudd's character is the heist-hearting hero with the power of petiteness in the new installment and will be Rudd's fifth time out as the character. 15. In an unfortunate turn, Freeform has decided not to renew Marvel's Cloak & Dagger for a third season. This comes five months after the end of the second season and sources are reporting that options on the cast expired this week. The drama series debuted strong in 2018 and earned a second season renewal but soon afterwards, the series' ratings dropped almost -40% and never bounced back. “We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told,” Freeform told Deadline. “We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision.
