  1. No need to paint, just make creative use of yellow cellophane plastic wrap and make your imagination work its wonders. I used this to simulate the glowing emanating effect on Dr. Strange hands or Beta Ray Bill's Stormbreaker.

Thanks for the tip I got some yellow sandwich bags and some double sided tape and it did the trick it looks pretty good. I took off the flipping helmet and the shoulder pads then I stuffed the space around the skeleton part to look like electrical flames then I applied the plastic around his entire body to give the electrical effect. The yellow body really helps the effect. The red orange skull makes it look pretty cool. It's not the traditional ZZaax look but it looks pretty good. Thanks again. :)

Now that you took my advice, you owe me some pics posted in this forum!!

  2. A lot of these MU figures has a defect I am now just noticing particularly on the Daredevil figure and Bullseye figure. They're both short and stubby looking and most of all . . . . they have CANKLES !! Do you know how unappealing those look on these figures? Hasbro got to solve that problem because I don't see them on the W:XO figures at all. And the reuse of the same Daredevil body would guess what ?? . . . spread the cankle problem to other figures as well, namely Wave 5 Namor and so on and so forth. So there ya go Hasbro put those sculptors back to work. . . and resolve the cankle issue.

  3. Here's adding more salt to the wound . . . . Check comicartfans.com. Bulldozer is now on a forthcoming wave for Secret Wars along with some others. The Wrecker is sure to be not far behind. Bob Layton was commissioned to provide cover art for the Secret Wars series. So the most requested supervillain group is being featured in MU but not even considered in Marvel Legends. That is so disorienting, Hasblow!!

  4. Agreed. They are totally using this latest ploy to coax the ML loyals into switching to MU. They show us this very limited selection of ML and then tell us we're only gonna get six of them when all is said and done, then they wave this giant assortment of MU in our face as to say, "Come on over here guys, we got Jim Lee's Jean Gray, Modern Luke Cage, Winter Soldier Cap, all they figs you've been demanding from ML."

I hope Hasbro gets what's coming to em. They could fall flat on their face with MU and default on the terms of the contract with Marvel and lose the license to someone like Mattel. Only in a perfect world.

They even have the entire Wrecking Crew (confirmed Piledriver. Thunderball and Bulldozer, Wrecker to follow) to add insult to injury. I will omit these since I only really love X-Men characters done right (no, I didn't get that Gambit either, his face looked hideous). See I only buy 3 3/4 when the sculpt matches my expectations and all I have is the Black Panther (but I would rather have the ball hip joints in W XO. I also have Deadpool (uncanny likeness) and TS Wolverine. But that is as far as I go. Everything elso looks wonky (bug eyed Surfer, short and stubby Daredevil) or anorexic (Iron Man) or out of scale (tall a$$ Johnny Storm/Iron Fist/Hand Ninja). And the lack of detail suffers from the small scale to justify the price.

I rather would like McFarlane Toys to get the contract and give that Halo articulation to the Iron Man characters. And they know how to incorporate all the details. They know how to sculpt, paint and articulate ! See how that all rhymes ?

  5. Talk about not having a clue. When the first Marvel movie during Hasbro's helm came out (SM3), everyone expected 6" figures and they flooded the market with unwanted 5" action figures. This did not go well. X3 came along and guess what, they mixed X3 movie figures with the regular ML line. Not a good idea at all. Then came FF2 and back to 5" figures they went. This is not looking too good either. Iron Man movie was next . . . well they made 6" alright but lookit here 6" scale doesn't mean 6" skinny Iron Man, it should be more of 6 1/2 " beefed up Iron Man like FFML Dr. Doom.

IRON MAN 2 Movie due out in 2010, talk about the right time to capitalize and do comic based figures. Historically, movie figures do well at the height of the movie release, but after that it pans out after film has run its course. What really sells are the classic comic based characters related to the movie icon. This could jumpstart the whole 6" line. We need a much beefier Iron Man inside that armor. Who wouldn't want a classic 8" Titanium Man or a 6.5" Crimson Dynamo?? Case in point Spider-Man classics line. They sell well even without the SM movies (granted if the sculpts are nicely made). It boggles the mind that the figures being planned are the tiny 4 inchers when they could make a killing with the bigger versions and amaze us with killer sculpts of these two characters. They never LEARN from their mistakes. The HULK Movie figures could have sold better with 8" Hulk offerings and 10" Abomination figures (albeit made as Deluxe versions). I mean they could make a 10" Megatron or Optimus Prime from the Transformers and can make these highly detailed whereas the puny Iron Monger from the first movie we got was just undersized (he could have been into an impressive 8 inch behemoth) and Iron Man Mk III was as skinny as Daredevil when standing next to Cap. He needed to be beefier and make us believe there is a full sized man inside that armour (like the Dr. Doom figure was). Hasbro needs to think BIG not small, Who needs these tiny movie figures ??? At least make a 6.5 inch scale Deluxe version. Not many can afford those expensive Hot Toys Iron Men or Kotobukiya figures.

  6. The new GALACTUS might be 4" taller than the previous BAF but he's got his proportions all wrong. His leg to arm length ratio length is less than 1:1, his shoulders are wider than his lower extremities' length. He barely has an abdomen or did he pull his pants all the way up over his stomach? He looks like an intergalactic DWARF. MINI ME in space armor. And his HUGE headgear is so over the top it puts the POPE's headdress to shame !! It looks 2 stories tall. Hasbro gotta get their sculptors or designers to check getting proper anatomical proportions to match their toy figures. Do they wear glasses? At least the first Galactus looks normal aesthetically. Saving on plastic does not make this thing look RIGHT.

  8. Not yet convinced or jumped ship to MU. Why? Scales issues the same with ML. Wolverine is a tall dude. Punisher is downright ugly. Ironman looks wonky with that helmet and anorexic (same with classic one). The Extremis version looks better though. Even classic Thor sculpt looks very amateurish. Have they seen the Super Hero Showdown version?? The Hand Ninja is taller than most figures (these should be small Asian dudes). Warpath looks small, or is it because he is posed with the Hand ninjas? Spiderman's head sits so high and has a tiny fist. Iron Fist looks taller than most characters?? I don't like the Silver Surfer's bug eyes (they work better with Yellowjacket or the Hydra goons). The Hulk . . . don't get me started on the HULK. I prefer a downscaled version of the Movie Hulk's sculpt. That is a perfect Hulk sculpt IMO (barring the FO Hulk). Johnny Storm is among the tallest normal sized figure group along with that Hand Ninja and the Iron Fist. And they are supposedly 5' 10" (shorter than most super heroes). Daredevil in comparison is a shorty with the stubby legs and steroid thighs. The SuperHero Showdown version has better proportions. These figures need a lot of work in my opinion. The only figure I have from the line is Black Panther (I wish they had ball hips) and W XO figures Deadpool and TS Wolverine which pay attention to their proper scaling and sculpt to resemble their comic counterparts.

  9. Even Galactus would have been better (I mean the BAF not the short legged midget they're now bandying out).

How is he a midget when he's 4" taller than the previous version?

Dude, he might be taller but that don't mean he's proportionate. His leg to arm length ratio length is less than 1:1, his shoulders are wider than his lower extremities' length. He barely has a waist or did he pull his pants all the way up over his stomach? Ok, he's not a midget. This Galactus is an intergalactic DWARF. Hasbro gotta get their sculptors or designers to check getting proper anatomical proportions to match their toy figures. At least the first Galactus looks normal aesthetically.

  10. MU suffers from the same scales issues they have with ML. Wolverine is a tall dude. Punisher is downright ugly and misproportioned. Ironman looks wonky with that helmet and anorexic (same with classic one). The Extremis version looks better though. Even classic Thor sculpt looks very amateurish. Have they seen the Super Hero Showdown version?? The Hand Ninja is taller than most figures (these should be average sized Asian dudes). Warpath looks small, or is it because he is posed with the tall Hand ninjas? Spiderman's head sits so high and has a tiny fist. Iron Fist looks taller than most characters?? Silver Surfer's bug eyes bother me (they work better with Yellowjacket or the Hydra goons). The Hulk . . . don't get me started on the HULK. I prefer a downscaled version of the Movie Hulk's sculpt. The Thing is not as good as the SHS Thing. Johnny Storm is among the tallest of normal sized figure group along with that Hand Ninja and the Iron Fist. And they are supposedly 5' 10" (shorter than most super heroes). Daredevil in comparison is a shorty with the stubby legs and steroid thighs. The SHS version has better proportions. The only plus I see with this new scale is they now go well with some of the previous BAFs (ToyBiz ones like Mojo).

  11. Not really excited with that Giant Man or Giant Skrull. Why, because those f#@!ers look like slender sissies. Look at the pictures and comic books. They should have been buffed up (thicker) and beefier!! And their tiny fragile hands, look tiny. Even Crossbones had about as big and wide biceps as these two supposedly giant behemoths. Wrong use of base body (Cyclops). They should have resculpted the upper torso from ICONS Wolverine or Thor. Better yet they could have instead released new sculpts like Dragon Man or the Super Adaptoid and they would have looked better. Even Galactus would have been better (I meant the BAF not the short legged midget they're now bandying out).

  13. toyark has some pics up and it shows Crimson Dynamo and Titanium man

i believe those are for their respective Iron Man lines, not Marvel Legends. Though, some of the IM armors look pretty cool.

they have just been pulled from the convention and considered in Limbo per the Hasbro panel. They're just going with the 3 3/4 Iron Man 2 line instaed. So much for our eager anticipation of these two great figures.

  14. H A S B R O Marvel marketing strategy:

Marvel Universe - Offer "A" list characters and offer full support and resources. Flood market with this line.

Marvel Legends - Show 18 obscure, less known, not in demand characters with rehashed body parts and repaints and offer fan polling to produce 3 + 3 characters in limited release 2 packs in 2010. Also, kill Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo prototypes because it generates too much fan interest. These reduce tooling costs and paying high sculptors costs.

  15. Wonder what happened to the 6" Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo?? They pulled it right from under our feet !! So much for our enthusiasm when the photos were leaked. They couldn't stand our fan reaction. Typical Hasbro, they didn't figure these two 6" figures would get so much attention and hoopla that it takes away from their main focal point of the other Marvel Universe figures. Accidentally displayed my a$$ !! Hey let's put them back in mothballs!! Heck these two even generated more talk than the 2010 2 pack Legends they are polling. Maybe it would cost them more for tooling . . . Obviously they don't know which figures are in most demand and cannot project demand for the production run. They just figured, duh .... it's just another one of those armoured figures that we can include with the Iron Man movie line. It won't sell as much as the other Mk III Iron Man figures that are peg warming in the stores.

  16. Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man are being shelved. Why ?? Because the photos got inadvertently leaked !! And judging from the fan reaction, they got unexpected feedback from the public. Typical Hasbro, they didn't figure these two 6" figures would get so much attention and hoopla that it takes away from their main focal point of the other Marvel Universe figures. 17. I just read on the main page that these figures were shown by accident. They have no retailers lined up and are NOT coming out this year. Maybe next spring/summer with the IronMan 2 movie figures. BULL$HIT!!!

Well Hasbro busted that bubble pretty quickly. These look awsome they really need to make these available.

  18. Marvel Legends is alive and kicking !! You don't expect to get all the must haves in one wave or two or else they'll exhaust what's left of the Marvel Universe and it's a wrap. We'll definitely see the rest of the Inhumans, Cosmic characters or Mutant Universe at some point in the future. Polaris will come, and so with Jean Grey (JLee), Gladiator, Darkhawk , Vulcan, Terrax, Medusa, Odin, new Loki and Thor too. But for now we must support the line and not switch over to the Lilliputian collection and feed interest for that line.
