New spidey classic figs out
annihilator replied to jjlecaros's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
These 2 look good, but im still annoyed that they are shrinking the figs, keep them the same size!!! big figs shoudl be big (like juggs) small figs should be small (like moleman) TRANNTULAA shoudl be the same size of atleast spiderman 6" hasbro! No offense, but Juggy's dome looks like my friend's girlie toy when she needs to get off on those cold wintry nights. Batteries included ??? -
New spidey classic figs out

New Juggs is shorter than Crossbones. He's more like the size of the Thorbuster Iron Man from ML Series 14. Way shorter than Colossus too! -
Comic Con Marvel Legends Predictions
annihilator replied to xmenstorm1's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
I forsee more Iron Men - another wave of repaints of movie derived Iron Man figures, maybe 3 pack Evolution of armor or variety 3 pack. Another sampling of 3 3/4 Marvel Universe figures, including my favourite MU Hulk (with his Thriller - "King of Pop" eyes), umpteenth Johnny Storm repaint. And the most awaited Legends - NEMESIS Wave! -
Yep, that's him alright. And I plan to keep him for my sig for awhile.

I'm sure you can add a darker wash to Doc Samson to make him look better. In my case, I was not too happy with my factory painted Absorbing Man and had to take some of my own drastic steps. And now he looks just freakin' awesome!

I'm liking a 10" Dragon Man or a Super Adaptoid from Marvel Select. Movie Abomination, Titanium Man too!

what is the best spider-man MS
annihilator replied to ToBeLoved's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Sorry to say, but the McFarlane Spidey trumps them all by far, even though he isn't Marvel Select ! -

Compare skull sizes with FO Cap, FFML Reed Richards, Gambit or Sabretooth and you'll see what I mean. -
Packaged pics of the nemisis wave

They're all so small. We might be getting ready to be switched to the wee people. -

The new DD's are tiny and are a scale shorter like the newer ML's. The skull size is a dead giveaway and they probably will have to be displayed with the other smallies like Black Panther, Wonder Man, new Johhny Storm, FFML Silver Surfer, Ben Grimm, new Vision, Movie Iron Man, HR Iron Man, etc. -
COLLECTOR APPRECIATION THREAD

Anyone willing to help out a collector? I needed Ronan's right arm for a looong time and couldn't get it through EBay . . . -
Best Build-a-Figure ever?
annihilator replied to VenomFan's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Annihilus was a terrific BAF, granted it's paint apps was less than perfect. But it had individual finger articulation, a huge wingspan, detailed texture throughout its armor/skin. I loved that first Hasbro BAF. I didn't like the movie figures that came with the wave as well as Emma Frost. -

Wolverine Origin Action Figures (wish list)
annihilator replied to SP1D3RxV3N0M's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
6 inch please, and not another Jean Grey type sculpt, or Emma Frost facial from Series 1. Those where on a different level of ugliness! -
Wolerine is too big . . . again, and Daredevil is the the tiniest of the group. Sigh!

These are not always cast-offs or factory errors. These are carded merchandise and they must have an arrangement with the local distributors from where these are actually manufactured (China). It's a known fact that collectors in China, Hongkong or Singapore get first shipments before us in the mainland. Our advantage here is that we get the running changes if there's any flaws in the early runs. To those who try to get ahead and obtain "early" product, well you gotta pay up (EBay) or have good hookups.

Sample pic of the New Marvel Universe figures next to Indiana Jones and GI Joe figures . . . Courtesy from a guy from Singapore who posted the pics on FWOOSH Forum.

I collected these figures because I've wanted great sculpts and poseability and the satisfaction of displaying them in my workplace and at home in my family room as a souvenir from my old comic book reading days. It really is not an obligation to get every figure available and therefore I am not completist. I only have about 50 and if the sculpt is marginal and articulation mediocre (like AW) I pass on it. The mediocre ones were left on the store pegs and there were lots of them both from ToyBiz and Hasbro. Some were excellent sculpts but not painted too good so I added my own touches. If I spot a good 3 3/4" figure I might get one to go along with Ben Grimm from 2006 Super Hero Showdown. Maybe Norin Radd and Ms Marvel and that's it.

2006, Marvel Super Heroes Showdown 3 3/4" scale. . . . Did not do well at all. That is historical data for everyone to remember or does anyone not look at it any longer . . . . I hope Marvel's gamble pays off this time. But I am not one of those ready to start over. That is my choice.

Just to use a comparable product as an example, DCUC showed us wave 5 and 6 at SDCC, and wave 7 and 8 images have shown up since then. because that line is still in production. And I'm not sure why Retailer Seminar is in quotes. Are you implying Hasbro didn't invite all the retailers in the country to Pawtucket in June? It happens twice a year. I will tell you that when my buddy gives me another update from the next one, I won't bother telling you guys. I'm curious....did you know anything about the Rulk or Ares waves before they were revealed? Especially Ares?? Just because they haven't shown product yet doesn't mean the line is dead for Pete's sake. Hasbro has always kept it hush with this line from day one, only revealing at Con's. They unveiled the rest of 08's lineup at Toyfare/SDCC this year, and I suspect they will reveal more at Toyfare '09 for next year's lineup. Marvel Legends is not dead. It is probably on hiatus for now. They're making a go of the MU for now, just like Superhero Showdown. When it tanks, expect Marvel Legends to reappear like the Phoenix rising from the ashes!!
