Other Figures Made From Crossbones
annihilator replied to Jormungand's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
I'd like them to use that upper body for either Cable or even Warpath in the future. What does everyone think ? -
Enchantress "H"

Metamorpho may be small, but Waves 2, 3, 4 and 5 ain't that small. They are at least 8" to 9" tall, as tall as FO Hulk or Wendigo, if not bigger. They are bigger and heavier. Gorilla Grudd, Solomon Grundy, Despero and Metallo, even Atom Smasher are by no means smaller than Ronan or Ares. They are huge!! But not Sentinel or Pitt HUGE, but still they are making Hasbro's BAF offerings look second rate. Solomon Grundy looks freakin' awesome IMO and for less figures to complete.
-
Me too. I pass on this BAF. Would have preferred his classic costume from the 70's and 80's and a smaller size. Ultron (any version)or Super Adaptoid would have been a better BAF IMO.

Have you opened your set? Someone at the Fwoosh forums stated Ares Wave Kang and Crossbones has ToyBiz 2006 stamped on the figure ! Did anyone notice this? Check it out . . .

Let's take the X-Men for example. Is the 90's version preferable because of the demographics? Has the market been more for a lot of baby boomers who enjoyed the Marvel Comics and cartoons back then ? Are there more Marvel readers before than at present ? Something to think about . . . . Does the strategy of releasing current versions make more sense than the classic versions? and how does this affect customer taste and product appeal to generate sales?

For Hasbro to choose a character to release, which version of a character would sell the most ? Let us assume none of these were ever released, or they are rebooting the line, or say Marvel Universe, which version would sell the best and discuss ? A modern version, classic version or say 90's version or even Ultimate version: Iron Man Thor Polaris Adam Warlock Jean Grey Cyclops Sabretooth Cable

How do you all get such great pictures???
annihilator replied to clonekiller72's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Photobucket dude ! You're one click of a mouse away. You'll figure it out. I know you're smart enough . . . . -
Overall, I voice approval when I see a good thing and I'll give them credit when credit's due, but I'll snarl like a pit bull when they give us crap. It's like feedback or something like raising the red flag (or BS flag). It's more to call attention to issues which I know Hasbro sometimes tends to monitor on these forums.

what to do with the toybiz vision :)
annihilator replied to abazou's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Remove head from ToyBiz version and use as a hood ornament . . . . -
Just call one a Movie Hulk - 10' tall and the other a regular comic sized Grey Hulk. I dunno what the deal is. Or call the MS Hulk a Savage Hulk grown to huge proportions cause of his enraged state (upper limits) and leave it at that. The madder he gets the stronger and bigger he gets . . . Case closed.

MS Rulk FTW!
-
You won't like hime when he's Hungry! grrrrr . . . .
-
I agree with you thru and thru. We just need a bigger and better Ben Grimm, not Cheetos Grimm! He just looks pathetic when put next to Fearsome Foes Rhino or Juggernaut. He just needs more MASS !! When I think of the Thing I think of a HUGE Linebacker !! As big as a refrigerator, not a small freezer.
-
Need a Fish-Bowl Mysterio!

I got my Fearsome Foes Rhino for $6.59 + $8.99 Shipping and Handling from that Hongkong dude in an Ebay auction! I'd say it's it a pretty fair price for something shipped from overseas. He now sits on a shelf in my cubicle in a chargin' pose next to Series 13 Green Goblin and FO Sabretooth. Such excellent sculpts! -
Okay, as big as that Hasbro Hercules then, fair enough ?
-
That Ben Grimm Hasbro made is no longer how he is depicted nowadays. He is much larger and not as pinheaded as the figure looks. Open a comic book and see that he is much, much larger. And I know a lot of people here would welcome a more modern large version of the Thing as he is now depicted in the comic books. He should be depicted as close to 6' 4" at least.

Those pics are . . . . YUMMY!

MS Hulk is perfect with any oversized ML (read: Ares and Lord Thor). I say these come close to about the same size as Ultimate Thor. My default Thor on display for my Marvel Legends collection is the appropriately sized Giant Man Thor (6.5" translates to 6' 6"). Also MS Hulk would be a perfectly sized Movie version if you pay attention to his almost 10' height (9 3/4") like the pictures depicting him towering over Emil Blonsky. Now if Marvel Select could only match this with a corresponding Movie Abomination (forget Hasbro's), that would be truly awesome !! By the way, he resembles Dale Keown's art and yes he is about close to Pitt's size and can look him eye to eye (do a stare down).
-
Note: MS Hulk goes well with Ares BAF (he looks more of Marvel Select sized anyways). Even huge Lord Thor looks good with Marvel Select Hulk (Again, I am inclined to have WalMart Thor as my default Thor).

I use Teeth whiteners how 'bout you ?
