I get what you are saying about the BAF pieces. AoA Jean Grey was tucked away in the side of the blister pack. It would have been nice to get some TK accessories with her, or Nate Grey, or Cyclops, or Vulcan. With that said, I am sympathetic to the costs of running a business. Better that they cut some costs if it means they last longer, than that they should put themselves out of business.

I only collect X-related figures, and I will say their selection has been really nice. They know their wheelhouse is 90’s stuff, and they are sticking to it. Additionally, I can’t remember the last underwhelming BAF. Bonebreaker is awesome. Strong Guy, Sauron. AoA Colossus. Just phenomenal. Accessories have been good, too. Havok and Maggot fit this category. I haven’t gotten my first plastic-free package yet. One growth area would be sticky joints. I have a few that are stuck doing pirouettes because I don’t want to snap their ankles.

Caliban BAF Shoulder Stuck
Chunkylover replied to Chunkylover's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Thanks guys. A few repetitions of the freeze/boil method loosened the joint. I had to repair the damage I did to the bicep with a set screw. He’ll always be flagged for a pat down going through airport security, but at least he has his arm back. -

Thank you for your comments. That sounds helpful. I’m in Michigan so this option is unavailable until April. 😄 -
Caliban BAF Shoulder Stuck
Chunkylover replied to Chunkylover's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
Thanks. I will try this method. I already snapped the bicep off of the shoulder. I don’t want to do any more damage. -
I purchased the left arm for the Caliban BAF from an eBay seller. The shoulder joint is quite stuck. I’ve warmed it a few times but haven’t broken it free. I’m not sure if it is a quality issue, or if I bought second-hand junk. Has anyone had this issue? Were you able to free the joint? Would it be worth trying to fully remove the rotator from the socket, or is complete disassembly more trouble than it is worth? Thanks for any help.

I agree with the foot stands. They seem like a fairly cheap bang for the buck. -

I don’t think he’s bad, just somewhat inconsistent. -

I think Liefeld is getting better at drawing feet, though he still found a way to avoid drawing them with the body slide page. -

I think her head was mentioned. I think they were going with an ethnicity look, not necessarily a comic art inspired look. She's from the Mediterranean area, right? Something to do with Afro-French extraction? -

I also thought that was a really well done costume update. They've done some good work on her costumes. The one in the OP is a unique take. I liked the blue Phoenix one from X-Men Forever as well. -

I am happy with what they gave us this year, and what it looks like they will provide next year. I wish things didn't cost so much, but I don't blame Hasbro for that. -

Oh. Too bad. I thought the LT Jean was up there with like, the Scarlet Witch or something. Too bad. -

I thought the love triangle one was good, and the HoXPoX wave was OK. You didn’t like either of them? -
X-Men in the post-House of X era

That one is kind of neat. Another neo-classic. What I think is weird is that we have circled back to the days of impossibly impractical costumes from the 90's. How could Stryfe's huge helmet and spikes function in a battle? How could those spikes on storm do any better? It's funny how aesthetics change. Does anyone wear those big goofy boots anymore, like Wolverine's or Captain America's? Giant floppy pieces of fabric hanging all over? -

I think the best options to include in the next wave are Husk and Smasher. Both would allow Hasbro to save some money. Smasher is practically that new Wonderman's head on Vulcan's body. Husk accessories are fun to consider. They could make a half diamond, half ripped skin head. Multiple different hands would be necessary: gloved, diamond. Didn't she have a giant chunk of rock as a fist one time? -

Some of those are cool. I like that they are doing a sort of neo-classic interpretation of some of the costumes. What is going on with Sunfire, though? He looks like Iron Man. Does he still have the rising sun on his costume? It looks more like the Union Jack. -
Oh yeah. Emplate and Penance were so cool. I loved those claws and that weird hair. I think a Synch effect would be possible as long as there aren't too many other accessories. It wouldn't be too different than the recent Havok or Zero accessories. Mondo would probably be the BAF, eh? I think they actually improved the face on the blue-and-yellow Jubilee.

Wow. Exciting reveals. It would be quite the misstep to make Fang taller than Wolverine. The blue and yellow 3-packs look really nice together. Psylocke's hair is a little meh. I'm glad they went for the 90's Gen X team. I wonder if M looks weird because of the armor on her costume. I also wonder how much articulation Chamber's head will allow. The rest of the team will be pretty easy to deliver, at least Husk and Jubilee. Corsair looks like he was an easy repaint with minimal new parts. Good for them to save some money. Hopefully they can pass than on.... Rogue looks great. Saved some money with the easy repaint+headsculpt. I like those Banshee headsculpts.
