Chirstmas Spider-man: I'm a sucker for good holiday themed figures so Spidey is a must. He can go harass the Holiday Edition Star Wars figures and that McFarlane Santa Batman. We do definitely need Mrs. Claus MJ to compliment him next year. the Spider-man Retro: Having missed the Smythe/polo shirt Peter 2-pack, I'm very glad they're getting Smythe out there again - need him for my Spidey villains. Fingers crossed that TAS Vulture gets the same treatment before long. Don't think I'll be upgrading my existing May for just a purse and magazine and MJ for a rose, newspaper and less vibrant color scheme but glad to see they'll be out there for those that don't have them already. Elsa - If she turns up cheap, I might upgrade, but it's such a small upgrade, she's definitely not a priority. Earth-X Cap - Looks good, but I'm not super jazzed about it. Will get, but lower priority. Acroyear- I find it fascinating to think that there is now a non-zero chance of competing the Micronauts in Marvel Legends before the classic Thunderbolts crew. Figure looks great and it's nice to see the 'Nauts be brought into the fold. Just a fun looking toy and I am all in favor of that. Elektra - Again, good upgrade, but I'm not that excited since it's just more of the same of her - it's a classic look, but we've had it so many times before that this is just another incremental improvement rather than a big leap ahead or a vastly different look. I think that expression could have used some work though. Hawkeye - Nice revisit and some clear improvements there, but I find myself more interested in this than much of the rest of the wave. Doom Spidey - Not familiar with the look and I'm honestly not a big fan of the design, but Spidey variants are a given so it's nice to see a new look rather than the umpteenth symbiote suit release!

Honestly, this figure should have come with multiple heads like Moonstar did to cover multiple characters in one go. That way we get the color consistency that a single uniformed team needs, plus gets a bunch of characters out there in one shot. If they kept the neck non-flesh colored, you could cover Cypher, Cannonball and powered-down Sunspot in one hit and likely triple the sales of this one release. Honestly, I'm really holding out for a Krakoan Cypher - cooler uniform design and more useful character. Might be able to repurpose the Doomsday Mr Fantastic jacket for that since I can't see this Doug flying off the shelves sufficiently to warrant going back to that well anytime soon.

The sad thing is I've wanted this version of Vision for ages and this horrendous cape is how we get him. Sigh.

The 2099 crew have always had great designs - especially Doom - that I'm *so* glad to finally be seeing in plastic form. Fingers crossed we get more - Punisher and Ghost Rider are top of my list, though I'd take an X-Men 2099 Skullfire quite happily too.

Reissues of hard-to-find figures like this are good. Personally I'm hoping they reissue the Spidey/Vulture VHS 2-pack and pretty much any of the Daredevil sets they've produced since they all seemed to disappear.

But that's what makes it so fun! 😁 I've always liked Wanda's Crossing look and I've wanted a Gatherers Vision forever, so I'm pretty happy with this set... except for that cape. And I *prefer* sculpted capes! Hopefully it won't be a hassle to swap that out for another Vision's drapery...

It's a shame from purely the tradition point of view - NYC has always been the center of the Marvel Universe because that was the world Stan, Jack and the rest of that original generation saw outside their window, but nowadays with creators all over the world, just as much research is needed for them to accurately reflect the realities of New York as it would have been for any far flung location back in the 60's. DC already relocated years ago, so it's an inevitable part of the consolidation as part of a larger media company. I don't see it'll have any effect on the books or quality (perceived or otherwise) beyond the usual change when a new EiC come in - it'll be interesting to see what sort of shifts we see under Wacker.

The pricing on this is insane. Here in New Zealand we're looking at about $100, which is twice as much as standard retail for a regular figure. As much as I'd like to update my old Doc Samson, the value proposition simply isn't there for this. It's one thing to be charging in that ballpark for rerelease BAFs and deluxe figures of that size like the rest of the Hulk line, but for something that's not appreciably better than a regular figure? C'mon, Hasbro...

I wonder why Hasbro keeps underestimating the demand for Daredevil product? The DD/Elektra/Bullseye 3-pack so out really fast, as did this. Hope it reaches fan channel options sooner rather than later!

Thunderbolts* 2-pack - I figured we were likely to get The Void at some stage or other given how easy a repaint he is, but I am glad to see Val gets the nod for the second figure given the character's prominence. I'd still like to see Ghost and Taskmaster, but given they'd be new sculpts, I'm not holding my breath on either of them. Ghost might have a chance with a Doomsday-related release. No Way Home Goblin is a sensible way to get a Raimi Gobby out there again without having to deal with the issues of relicensing the first Spider-Man movie, so I can see the sense in that, especially with the investment they put into the glider mold. It's a solid maybe from me - definitely if it were on sale. Doc Samson - nothing new there but cool enough, even if I'm not a fan of that particular costume. Gotta do the classic version. I hope he doesn't get the same sort of pricing as the other Hulk figures in this subline... Deadpool & Wolverine - these just look fun to me. Wolverinepool is a cool design and will add nicely to the nascent Deadpool Corps, concept X-Force DP will as well and the Cavillrine is just as hilarious a concept for a figure as it was in the film so I'm all on board for that. I'd be quite happy for them to keep this subline going to pump out the odd Deadpool or Wolverine variant for a while yet - there's plenty in the film that I'd still like on my shelf. Classic Boomerang is great to get that version done - kinda surprised he didn't come on a retro card and the same for the comic Scorpion. Can't help but feel that these would have been the comic-based figures in an old style BaF wave to support Brand New Day only a couple of years ago and I would have been all in favor of that. Classic Scorpion - passing on this is the only real difference between this and previously release is just an additional angry head. Secret Wars Doom - definitely waiting for a review to see if there's anything new about the presentation beyond the shield and guns to make it worth getting when I've already got the Captain Marvel/Dr Doom 2-pack from a couple of years ago. Beast - he's in keeping with the more animated style of the X-Men '97 line, so I won't complain about that. That line isn't a high priority for me so but it's definitely good to see him represented for those that are more invested in it. Cypher - Didn't realize Doug wielded New Adventures He-Man's power sword at some point in the comics! Nice to see the classic team in their training suit looks getting more love, but I honestly would have liked the Krakoan era look over this, or some more Douglock swap out piece options. Will get, though - him and SW Magik plus X-Men '97 Sunspot are making a decent core '80's New Mutants team and Cannonball will add to that when he eventually comes out too. NWH Spidey - Not planning on getting but that semi-unmasked head does look awfully good.

I can't really understand why these are collector-aimed things. Hulk hands are great fun and have been a staple of Hulk merchandising since the Ang Lee Hulk film (as they should be), but a high-end collector version? I don't see the big upgrade here...

Credit to whomever Lord_Scareglow stole this template from 😁 Classic Falcon - Looks really good and scratches a lot of itches for classic look collectors. Will pick up. Constrictor - Nice update. The old one was fine, but I don't mind this version, and it checks a box for the classic SW series recreators, so all good. Will pick up but lower priority. Absorbing Man - Nice for those that don't have the BAF. Looks good but the lack of 'absorbing' parts is a knock against it. Hope this isn't a pre-tool for a Hulk series deluxe version *with* those parts... Lower priority pickup. Magik - Looks great and it's nice to see a new Magik. Will pick up and hope it's the start of a classic New Mutants team to build. Spider-Man. - I get the desire to put in an anchor A-list character, but this is far from the most appealing offering. The execution of the idea is nice enough - the sculpted details are good but does make it's potential use super-specific. Will only pick up if cheap. Daredevil - Looks really good, but I can't help but wonder if they're going to do a Maximum release of DD that will make this redundant like the rumored black costume Spidey. Tentative pickup barring news of further releases of the character in better form. Muse & Bullseye - Muse looks great. At first glance I though it was the MCU version, which speaks to how well the costume team translated that look to screen! Bullseye is not a version I'd get on it's own, but is a good alternate look that adds something. Will get at some stage. Avengers Crossing Quicksilver & Black Widow - As awful as The Crossing is as a story, I've long felt they would make pretty good action figures. The execution seems a little off, though - that Black Widow costume should have a higher 'collar' and the lightning designs on Quicksilver seem too small between the 'spikes'. I may be misremembering that but I think a slightly simplified lightning bolt would look better. Interested to see if we get more than just this pack. Probably get. Deluxe Onslaught - Nice. I have the BaF already so not a high priority, but really good for more people to get him. Deluxe X-Men 97 Archangel - Ehhh... not my favorite character and I'm only so-so on most of the X-Men '97 figures anyway. Nice enough and I assume this confirms he'll have a part to play in season 2, but it's not as exciting as a mainline release for me. Maximum Thor - I'm super surprised to see this being the JMS-era design rather than classic Kirby Thor. I really thought the Maximum Series was all about the most iconic versions of the core characters. Don't get me wrong - I love this look and it's my favorite Thor (I still use the 'Return of Marvel Legends' version as my display Thor), I'm just very surprised. A lot of interesting choices for piece count there, but there's so many things missing too - fists and a twirling hammer are essential for Thor, so maybe they're holding those back for a classic version? If not, then this feels as similarly non-ultimate as Spidey did when he failed to include the already tooled web wraps that would have made him truly maximum. Will pick up but holding out for a sale.

Yeah... not making me any more likely to pick it up until it's deeply, *deeply* discounted and even then only for the sheer kitsch factor...
