  1. Don't we already have both Ultimate Caps (that you mentioned) and Ultimate Iron Man in ML form?
  2. I assume he's collecting NIP and that having a fig from the original run is important to him. Might as well ask "why collecting toys actually matters"?
  3. That kinda looks like Dark Avengers Venom/Spidey on the right. I wouldn't mind having that in 6".
  4. Truth. It sold very well when it first came out and now not so much. I think every time a new wave comes out, all the newly released figs will get bought, but most of the re-releases stay on the pegs. Then a new case is put out and not all the same newly released figs get bought and none of the repeats get bought.
  5. For a short time I was using the invisible Jessica Alba.
  6. MU. Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.
  7. At last count (by individual figure) I had around 450. I probably have well over 500 by now. That includes my MUs, Joes, MLs (majority), MS figs, DCUCs, other 6" figs, and BAFs/CnCs (each counted as 1). 356 loose 6" (includes BAFs/CnCs) 105 packaged 6" (includes one 12" Wolverine) 43 various 3.75" 504 total (I just realized I probably missed about 10 or so packaged under my dresser...lol...I'll have to count them and add them in when I get home).
  8. Thanks for the close up. From those pics it looks like the difference is a fist guard. Not the black peg sticking off the end (that's on both). My guess is it's less of a variant and more of a running change. And I guess I have the variant.
  9. http://forums.marvelousnews.com/index.php?showtopic=2056231 According to BlackCat2006, one has a recurve bow and one has a compound bow. For the life of me tho I can't tell the diff and have no clue as to which one I have.
  10. Search these forums. Pretty sure this has been asked and answered in the past few months.
  11. I wouldn't bother splitting Marvel Girl and Cable. You may never sell MG by herself.
  12. Overall or you have a specific one? Cause Wonder Woman, Power Girl, Cat Woman, and pretty much every DCUC female fig is great - from head sculpt to toe sculpt. The latest ML ones are certainly a step up from past ML female figs, but they still aren't as good.
  13. There are at least 4 body bases I can think of off the top of my head (for male characters). There's the one used for Robin and Beast Boy. The one used for characters in suits like Two-Face. The one used for thinish characters (Sinestro's), and then the one used for the rest (Superman, Batman, etc). They also have some that are unique (Man-bat). And of course at least one for females (which for the most part they do WAY better than Hasbro has). dont forget the question body, deadman body, and the gentleman ghost body. mattel uses 8-9 bodies, not 2. the only marvel characters that wouldnt work would be the extra flexible ones. I figured the Question and GG used the same basic body as Two Face. I woulnd't know for sure since I don't have them in hand...grrr.... I had forgotten about the taller slim figure like Deadman. Agreed about flexible characters like Spidey. They are still doable, but just won't be as flexible as they would be with ball joints in the hips.
  14. Color wise I don't think the Reed and Thing you have match. IIRC, Ronan Reed is dark blue while 2 pack Thing is a lighter blue. My set-up is wave 5 Reed*, 2 pack Thing, Ares Torch, and 2 pack Sue (plus white suit Storm, Black Panther, and SDCC FF She-Hulk). *I know the color doesn't quite match, but the head is infinitely better than the 2 pack Reed and I didn't want him in stretchy mode. Overall the 2 pack Sue is the best Sue Storm I've seen...even if her face is a little bland.

And of course at least one for females (which for the most part they do WAY better than Hasbro has). They do a good job molding extra stuff on those body bases to distinguish them. Moreso with the later waves. Add to that the fact that Mattel is not only putting out more figs than Hasbro at 6", they are putting out b and c level characters. Not every wave has two or three a listers. Some have no a listers. Mattel is doing a fantastic job with the WWE line that's set to debut. Fwiw, I'm a huge marvel fan. I collect nearly every 616 book plus a couple ult titles. I probably have more than 5x as many MLs as DC figs.
  16. Mattel doesn't use the same mold much more than Hasbro does. I can't see any argument that would make me believe Hasbro's ball joint hips are better than Mattel's tcrotch...other than articulation, but the articulation is THAT much better to overcome the much more realistic look Mattel has. they are only realistic looking as long as you don't try to pose them at all. go ahead and try to put a leg out to the side and it looks like the dumbest thing ever. I could make an equally ridiculous argument that balls in the hips looks like the dumbest thing ever...in every pose.

  18. seriously? well, now that you mention it...i do to! (for the most part) Yeah, space and I decided to display them as if they were taking a group photo. :P
  19. The tcrotch allows them to make figures with realistic looking hips by sacrificing just a little articulation. It probably wouldn't work well for a character like Spidey, but for most it would be a welcome change for me (since I mostly just display my figs standing upright).
  20. There were a bunch just a month ago. They may have all gotten picked up and so those customizers are busy atm.
