  1. Just in time for Christmas it's the Fantastic Four Holiday Special 2012: "Merry Christmas Doctor Doom!" A complete comic book that is available for reading (along with dozens of others) at the following link. http://www.billscomics.com/afcomics.html This comic is actually the long-awaited sequel to "Fantastic Four: Cosmic Doom" (located on the same page as all my other comics). So, be sure to read that one first, or you might a little lost on this one. Check it out. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!
  2. Thanks Big Bear. I'm curious to know what you think once you read it. Let me know.
  3. I've got a new action figure comic up on my site at the link below. It's Daredevil Meets TMNT. Check it out. http://www.billscomics.com/afcomics.html
  4. I have to agree that the reason Constrictor and Klaw are peg-warming is their lack of consumer recognition. We comic guys know who they are, and I'm sure most of us own them. But to the casual buyer, they probably look pretty generic. That being said, both characters have gotten some recent exposure on Disney XD network. Klaw appeared a couple of times in the new Ultimate Spider-Man show, and Constrictor was on an episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Whatever the case, I am glad they were produced. Constrictor has been a longtime want of mine, but I really dig Klaw as well.
  5. I've also been looking for that Blade on Ebay and other sites. My nephew is a Blade fanatic and I was hoping to snag him that figure for Christmas. Hopefully these will show up in time.
  6. I started checking a couple of times a week when the Avengers Legends first started to hit, and I found nothing at first. Then one day my local WM suddenly had 18 Avengers figures on the pegs (I counted them), and ALL OF THEM were Captain America and Iron Man except for one Thor. I checked two or three other WM's in my area over the next few weeks, and all I ever found were tons of Cap, Iron Man and the occasional Thor. I never saw even one Hulk, Hawkeye or Loki. NOT ONE! And I was looking. I remember thinking that this was the worst case assortment I'd ever seen. Six times as many Cap and Iron Man figures as the others combined. That's when I knew that something like this would happen. I told my wife, "Now you watch, they'll end up saying that 6" figures don't sell because of this crap and they'll cancel the Legends line again." Not that that has happened, but it seems one step closer to a possibility now. They always do fugged up sh!t like this and then blame it on the consumer. What about the 3-figure X-Force set that sold out online in about 2 minutes? What about all the regular Legends figures that basically disappeared from shelves the day they were put out? What about the last series of 2-packs that now go for over $100 each on Ebay? Yes, it's quite obvious to anyone that nobody wants anything to do with 6" Marvel figures. I am a little worried about the latest wave of Legends figures as well. It's full of repaints and characters that have already been released as Legends. (yet another Iron Man, plus Doctor Doom, Punisher, Blade, Mystique, and Deadpool). The only new character is the very obscure U.S. Agent. I think for these reasons that this series is going to sell poorly and it will be yet another nail in the Legends coffin. Stupid a$$holes at Hasbro. If they put one of us in charge of character selection Legends would fly off the shelf. I at least hope they go ahead and release the Waves that have already been announced. I'm really really really going to be pissed if we get left with only half of the Wrecking Crew completed.
  7. Hey Big Bear, First of all, thanks much for awesome review. You are indeed correct about the head I used for business suit Norman Osborn. I only used two different Spider-Man figures. They are both Fearsome Foes bodies with Dual Swing head swaps (with the eyes painted white). The only difference in the two figures is that one has the regular Fearsome Foes forearms/hands and the other has fist hands. Working on a couple of Batman comics right now, but my next Marvel project is going to probably be Avengers vs. Ultron. Stay tuned.
  8. I got an extremely good deal on them a couple of years ago at ToyGlobe.com. I got them for $4.95 each (so I bought 3). The next time I checked (about a week later) they had raised the price by $10.00 to $14.95. I guess after I started buying them, they must have said "Wow, this figure is getting hot, let's jack up the price." I checked with them today to see what they are going for and they are asking a whopping $49.95 each for them!!! I also checked Ebay and they don't have any for sale at all. So, if you can find one, it probably won't be cheap.
  9. Thanks JMLG and TheMenacing1, much appreciated. Glad you guys liked it.
  10. My latest comic is up on my website. It's a Spider-Man 50th Anniversary Extravaganza!!! With Spider-Man battling his greatest enemy The Green Goblin. Plus many more villains and surprises! Check it out at the link below if you get the chance. http://www.billscomics.com/afcomics.html Here's a panel from inside the comic.
  11. If you twisted my arm and told me I could only keep one Spider-Man figure, I would pick Snap-Shot Spider-Man here. Very very very close second would be the McFarlane/Campbell Superposeable Spider-Man (Spider-Man Classics 12). If you can find one, and if you can afford it, you can't go wrong with either of these two. As a third option there is also Spider-Strength Spider-Man, but his hands aren't very articulated. I tell you Hasbro could make a mint if they would release a new super-poseable classic red and blue Spider-Man figure in Marvel Legends. I guarantee it would fly off the shelves. But I guess they just don't like money.
  12. Saw all three (Amazing Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man and Movie Lizard) at my local Wal-Mart a couple of days ago, but I passed on all. I don't like movie figures, and I don't care for modern or Ultimate versions of Marvel characters either. I thought for a second about picking up the Ult. SM just for his web-shield accessory, but I figured a little plastic disk wasn't worth $14.00. They looked like really nice figures though. I would definitely pick them up if your into the characters.
  13. I've actually got a huge 4-part Marvel/DC Crossover on my site right after the "Holiday Specials" category about half way down the page. In fact it's actually called "CROSSOVER". Check it out.
  14. Thanks so much Devilbat. Very happy you like my comics. Comments like yours and other here make it even more worthwhile for me to keep doing them. As for doing a Movie Avengers comic, that would be tough, mainly because I have never been able to find any of the figures except for Captain America. However, my 3-part story where the Avengers battle the "New Masters of Evil" and the Destroyer, was done partly as an homage to the movie team. I comprised the Avengers in that story of the comic book counterparts of the movie team. (Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Hawkeye, Hulk and Black Widow with Nick Fury thrown in as well). So, in a way, I already did do a comic starring the movie Avengers. I even modeled the cover of the first issue based on the Avengers movie poster.
  15. Thanks SnakeEyes. I really appreciate it. Wow! I've been getting a lot of great feedback on this one. Seems a lot of people enjoyed it. I'll have to do more like it in the future.
  16. Thanks Dragon. Much appreciated. I had fun doing that one.
  17. Thanks, damprime, I really appreciate the feedback and comments. As for Steve Rogers, I was wondering about that myself. I was afraid I made him a little too hard core. I don't really keep up with modern comics that much anymore (except for Amazing Spider-Man, Mark Waid's Daredevil and occasionally X-Force), so I wasn't sure how much Steve's personality had been "modernized". I guess I was mostly going by what Captain America was like in the recent movies. Meaning he isn't adverse to use lethal force when necessary. If I had it to do over, I'd have him tell Wolverine something along the lines of "You can use lethal force, but only as a last resort." or some such as that. That will teach me for trying to break bad and write something "new school" all ultra violent and bloody and what not. :) It's really not my style. I'm more a student of the "old school" where all the superheroes had a strict "no killing" policy. But it was still fun to cut loose a little (pun intended). I'll probably bring back X-Force Wolvie for a future action figure comic adventure.
  18. Thanks Big Bear, I had a good time doing this one. Really glad you liked it. And yes, I did pick up two X-Force Wolverines. They weren't cheap, but I like having 2 of certain figures that I really like. Thanks again Zed. I've been wanting to do a solo Wolverine story for a while, and when I got this new figure, it seemed like a great time to do so. Sometimes it's fun to just go nuts with a comic and do what you want. I'm getting a lot of positive feedback on this one, so I guess people enjoyed it. X-Force Wolverine will definitely being returning in the future. Meanwhile, I'm working on a pretty cool Batman story at the moment called "Sidekicks" that I'm liking quite a lot. I should have it ready before too long. Stay tuned. And thanks again guys. Your comments are greatly appreciated.
  19. Thanks Zed, Menacing1, JMLG and Frank. Your awesome feedback is much appreciated. Zed, I know this was a bit of departure from my usual Old-School Marvel style, and I'm not a big fan of the extreme violence, blood and gore stuff myself, but I got the X-Force Wolvie and I wanted to use him in a comic, so I figured, "What the hell?" These days Logan pretty much plays for keeps, and anyway, I've been wanting to find a use for my "blood spatter" Photoshop brushes, and this was the perfect opportunity. Oh, I almost forgot the disclaimer: No action figures where harmed during the making of this comic. Thanks again guys! Look out for my next comic, coming soon! Also Zed, I almost forgot, that's a cool Iron Man cover!!!
  20. My latest comic is up on my website. It's X-Force Wolverine vs. the hordes of Hydra, plus a few surprises. Check it out at the link below if you get the chance. http://www.billscomics.com/afcomics.html Here's a panel from inside the comic.
  21. Thanks Big Bear. Your comments are much appreciated as always. Nice catch on the AF15-1962 code, I didn't think anyone would really get that. I bought all those Ben 10 figs at Wal-Mart on clearance for about $6.00 each. I always figured they'd make great alien henchmen. But, as you mentioned, they are severely limited by their lackluster articulation. You asked who the "bug" is. (I assume you mean the purple guy with the little wings). I don't know who he is. I picked him up at a yard sale a long time ago. I think he may be a Godzilla related figure, but I'm not sure. As for Nova, I couldn't use him in this story because there is no modern Nova ML figure right now. The one we got is from the 90's. (Which is the worst one we could have). I'd rather have first the appearance / classic version, or even modern style instead. Anyway, thanks again for the great feedback. Let me know how you like part 2. Catch you later.
  22. Thanks Zed. This was one of the most technically difficult comics I ever did. Plus it's the first one I've done that takes place in the modern Marvel U. I did it as an homage/sequel to Avengers Annual #7 and Marvel 2-in-1 Annual #2. Which is one of my all time favorite comic book stories ever. Glad you liked it. I really appreciate the awesome feedback.
