  1. I think part of it is that most eBay sellers do Buy It Now and jack the price up to its supposed "worth". Then it sits there for a year and no one wants to go near it. Putting an item up for action is the only way to find it's true value. An item is only worth what someone will pay for it. Although I do agree that seller probably just screwed up in this case.

I just sold all of my Palisades Muppets figures. People had some of the rarer ones up for $150-$300 for a single figure! I put mine up for action and they sold for $50-$75 which is probably closer to their real value. Also a lot of it was sold to Europeans since our dollar is barely worth the paper its printed on. So they can go a little higher without feeling ripped off.

I don't completely agree with this. People are often wiling to pay the buy it now price as well, making the actual worth the calculated average between the lower auction value and the higher buy it now prices.

In my experience, most of the auction sales end under the average value for any given item. Knowing that, I personally determine value based on the average price of completed listings for the item, minus 5-10%.

Yeah, from a seller's perspective, I almost never list things as an auction, because they always go for dirt cheap. I just look up the completed listings for "Buy It Now" listings and sell it around the average I'm seeing actually sell.

  2. Today's Haul Part I (got to wait for the mail in 2 hrs)

Sadly Hasbro thought I would be happier with 2 freaking variants of FF4 LOL

So yeah, 1 is for sale or trade.

I wrote them and they said that they ran out of variants and they wanted to get them out the door, that he apologizes that I received two of the same and that I can send one and get the blue one LOL wth

You are acquiring these at a ridiculously quick pace. How much have you spent so far?

  3. anyone find the new Powerman/IronFist at retail yet? for the guy who bought one from the indiana online site, how much was it?

    i think it's this one

    $19.95 plus a crazy $10.35 for economy shipping :/

I'm just waiting for these to go up on HTS.com, which should be in the next few weeks. Hopefully, they stay up longer than the Deadpool/Taskmaster set.

  4. Was happy top pick up an X-Men Giant Size Variant pack at the Disney Store in Sterling Heights, MI today.

Was on sale and had a coupon so it was worth picking up. :)

    how much? :)

    $28 plus %20 off coupon.

Where did you get a coupon? Hope its not one of those fake ones.

It was a coupon for the Disney Store that came with the bill/statement from the wife's Disney Visa card. It was pretty random, but you earn points for spending, so I basically just used the coupon that came, used the card and earned more points for future goodies. :)

There's a Disney Store in Sterling Heights? Where? I had no idea. My fiance's parents live in Shelby Township and I never knew that.

  5. I am actually hoping I do find anything in stores this week because I am broke after the Comic-Con exclusives.

I feel you there. I wish there'd be a break in new product, but fall is usually pretty busy. Waves 14 and 15 are coming soon, as is the next wave of comics packs. The drought actually usually ends up being from November to February.

  6. shipping prices are outrages!!

Shipping prices aren't listed. I need to know which figures someone is interested in and then what their zip code is to have a shipping quote.

And I'm not sure if you'd shipped anything lately, but the cheapest you can ship anything for with USPS Priority Mail is $5.20. And for anything that doesn't fit in the USPS's flat-rate boxes, I actually have to go out and buying shipping boxes, which cost $1.50 to $2.00 a piece.
