  1. I can't even imagine thinking about variants when I haven't even seen any sign of these figures at retail. Has anyone?
  2. Maybe some WWE figures? Those are all pretty generic, crew-cut SHIELD-looking guys.
  3. If you feel up to it, you might be able to save money by buying the unmasked FO version and a headcast of the regular FO version and paint it yourself.
  4. Score! Just snagged Ultimate Spidey and the movie one at Wal-Mart. Passed on Lizard. Thanks everyone for the updates. I only went to the store because I read you all were starting to find them. Now, Legends series 3...
  5. Consider yourself lucky you passed. That looks to me like a repainted Tarantula figure someone probably bought on clearance. I can't quite place the torso, but it looks like the Hand Ninja, or more likely, Ronin. In all likelihood, someone carefully took out the original figure and BAF piece and then replaced them with the copies so they could return it for a full refund. Pretty lame scheme, but it happens. I actually admire the effort they put into repainting the parts though. Of course, it could be a factory mistake, but I doubt it. Even if that were the case, those types of errors are hard to put a value on, and most experts will tell you they tend to be worth less than the regular figure because so few people collect things like that.
  6. I've always been too scared to try it, but I've heard that to fix loose hinge joints, you put a little dab of superglue on the hinge and then work the joint as the glue dries. This is supposed to tighten it by filling in space that might be in there causing the looseness. You have to work the joint to ensure that the glue gets in all the nooks and crannies and to make sure the joint doesn't get completely frozen. This should address the issue with the drooping head, but I would recommend practicing the technique a few times on some old figures first.
  7. After BBTS got wave 1 early, these started popping up about 2-3 weeks later at retail. I would wait to start running around looking until you hear reports of them being found at retail. I work close to a TRU, so I'll probably start hitting it up on Wednesday. Thats usually when they restock. I live in Louisville, and we usually get new stuff on the front end. When wave 1 hit, by the time I saw the reports on here, the one closest to me had already had them and sold out.
  8. Anyone have estimates on when we might see these at retail? I've never bought from bbts and have no idea if theyre usually ahead and if so by how far? Guess I might hit up TRU this week.
  9. In case you couldnt tell, I'm a bit of a us agent fan..well, of the costume at least. I still think Rogers wore it better while he was giving an "FU" to the government.
  10. I looked at camcokid before, no dice. But I'll check the other one. thanks for the heads up.
  11. I thought about the custom head cast, but I've never seen one available for the Bobby Drake figure I'm talking about. Do you know where one is available? If you want one the same style as the XMC. Just get the Sentinel series Angel (preferably the blue one) and one of the custom cast Bobby Drake heads and repaint. Angel and the XMC Icemen use the same base. They're pretty cheap loose. Head casts are usually no more than like $4.
  12. Your call man. The pieces will definitely be cheaper, but the figures are both pretty solid.
  13. I'm thinking about making a powered-down Bobby Drake/Iceman. I've always wanted the XMC variant, but I cant justify the hefty price ($100). I'm thinking just a generic body will do along with a simple head swap. Here's the head I'm thinking about using with the hair painted blonde. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWE-Figure-The-Miz...=item564a7c8ce0
  14. The only one I've ever fixed was my series 6. I got some boiling water going and stuck the claws in there for a couple seconds. When they softened up, I straightened them all out and dipped them in ice water for a minute to freeze back in place. Worked pretty well for me.
  15. Cant wait for my set to arrive from ebay. I promise you will have never seen figures torn from their package so quick. Thanks for the pics.
  16. Was there any public forewarning by Hasbro that these would be going up today? Because if not, shame on them.
  17. Never gonna happen. I read where one of the Hasbro guys was asked about the Warriors Three at Comic Con, and he flat out said the tooling would be too expensive.
  18. This honestly looks like one of the best marvel figures I've ever seen. Period. So much win. I really hope there arent a bunch of variants, but if I had to pick just one look, it would be the classic tongue-less head with one fist and one open hand.
  19. I agree with you. As far as the ladies they do seriously need to make more. But Jean has never gotten proper treatment and the movie version was crap. We were waiting on this for a long time. The TB version was so so and the reg. version looked crazier than the dark variant. Other than that we only had the 2 pack big headed Marvel Girl. The Black Queen looked nice but was on that little Emma body. This'll probably be the last we see of her for awhile anyway unless they go ahead with the White Phoenix. I'd actually really like a first appearence Jean. A whole FA X-men set would be pretty great.
  20. I have no interest in these, and am really bummed theyre phasing out the movie figures for this. As you metioned, the articulation is lacking. Also, there's no way an animated style figure would fit in with MLs. MLs tend to be pretty lifelike likenesses. Imagine that Nova next to a Face-Off Cap. Not gonna happen. At least the movie line blends in with regular MLs.
  21. Go for it. It's a good figure. I never thought the scale was bad at all and really like the sculpt. The only issue I've ever had is that the knee joints on mine are a little loose and have always been that way since I bought mine MOC. Not a major issue though. Also, I never use the base that came with mine. If anyone needs one, send me a PM.
